Yeah that's the whole lot up to the current page. I think we started off with about 1000 gp each before this lot (I have 1200 written down for Alinya but I'm not very confident that it's right).
Let me know if there's stuff from the list that you want - for example Alinya will snaffle the wand of acid arrows - and I'll total up the rest. We're carrying it all, so anything you want can be available for the next fight.

Larissa Brightfoot |

Here's the list with some things combined and similar types of things brought together.
Question: Does ancient coinage have a higher value than current coinage to a collector? Do we want to take the time to find out?
500 gp in Ancient coinage (time of Whispering Tyrant)
50 pp, 1100 gp
Eight 300 gp diamonds
+1 short sword (Who's proficient and interested? Edwin?)
+1 heavy mace (Rholf? Larissa can use it)
12 silver crossbow bolts
Wand of Ghost Sound 30 chg (Alinya or Edwin?)
Wand of acid arrow with 25 charges (Alinya has requested)
6 vials of alchemist's fire
two doses of dust of tracelessness
10 applications of silver weapon blanch
three packets of flash powder
five pots of alchemical grease
Oil of Keen Edge
potion of cure light wounds
potion of water breathing
silver surgeon's tools with tiny raven symbol and amethysts (appraisal?)
Gold belt buckle worth 50 gp
Iron bracelet with silver filligree worth 150 gp
Three large manticore eggs (appraisal? - I did not find a value for manticore eggs, but Axe Beaks are 1000 gp each)
Silver Flask of Brandy worth 30 gp
Campsite p 113 - glass vial of green substance that smells like carrots (can we identify this or is it merely a clue that has served its purpose?)
Rowboat p113
Rope leading into the water, tied to large canvas sack
In sack: Rope, Gag, Rusty Lantern, Three Stainless Steel Carving Knives, Rusty Shovel
In backpack: Shirt, Breeches, Shoes, Blood-spattered apron, detached human face
(I assume these are merely clues that has served their purpose unless we can use/sell the carving knives)
Wooden box
Vial of chymickule "Vorkstag and Gryne's Chymickal Bleach"
(can we identify this or is it merely a clue that has served its purpose?)
The books are valuable. There's a complete alchemist's lab on the desk.
How many of the books did we gather up? Did we pick up the alchemist's lab?

Ragadolf |

Edwin would take all of the alchemical items that go unclaimed.
(Think of him as a combo Sherlock/Batman in the early stages) :)
Edwin would prefer that a fighter-type take the magic shortsword, as he prefers to distance himself from combat. (and has a magic whip) But he will carry it until a fighter type comes along, as a magic weapon is always handy.
He would take the wand of Ghost sound, IF Alinya does not request it.
He uses a bow, so cannot use the crossbow bolts,
The books and alchemists lab he is very interested in, but I do not think we could have carried all of that out with us. Maybe we can go back for it? (Later) ;)

Larissa Brightfoot |

Thanks - I just got done doing a big one for another game and this type of layout seemed to help over there.
Larissa can make use of the mace and the crossbow bolts, but she's already carrying magical weapons (that can be redistributed if that helps the party), so I hesitate to ask for any of those items.
In the game, keep in mind the new rules for regeneration. They can help us or hurt us, depending on what we have to work with. We got a bit of a surprise when we ran into a tribe of trolls in another game and the rules were different...

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

one group i was in had an amusing encounter with trolls. we were more of a "beer and pretzels" kind of group, mostly just fulfilling quests with very little thought required and mostly fighting. we were lv12 gestalt characters, and we were supposed to defend a temple. while we were preparing the defenses, the enemy arrived days ahead of schedule and we were taken off guard. the DM started drawing a bunch of circles in a formation, ended up being 9 x 11 = 99 circles. he said "each of these is a wartroll (the souped up troll version) and we proceeded to make the ultraviolence.
after the dust settled, i calculated up the XP and it was just slightly more than we needed to get to level 20 from lv12. the DMs face was hilarious hahaha

dungeonmaster heathy |

Heh heh.
I joined a 6th level group with a 1e 1st level cavalier from Dragon magazine number 60 something;.....I rolled up and they were fighting trolls; I charged multiple times on my warhorse with a lance, and went from 1st to 5th level in one encounter. It was sweet.
Them were the days.....

Ragadolf |

Heh,
One game we were playing over a few years, (long term campaign, actually ended up moving to my house so my dad and little brother could play) I was the crazy mage (The original Ragadolf) :) and we ran into some war trolls. They messed us up pretty badly. (The group had split. ALWAYS a bad plan!) We were rescued by a group of war elves, (elves from a spelljammer campaign, they had blades on their elbows and knees.)
I don't think I ever leveled up more than one level at a time in a tabletop game. But playing the old SSI D&D computer games, it was certainly possible at early levels to get into a large fight, survive, and level up 3 or 4 times at once. :)

Updated loot log...
6730 of assorted gems, coinage, and trinkets.
Possibly more if we can sell old coins to a collector.

To let you know, we are packing up our bicycles for few days on a rail-to-trail in Iowa. I don't know how much Internet access we will have over the next week, so please don't let Larissa hold things up - please feel free to take actions on her behalf. Have a great Memorial Day (if you are in the States) and a great week (wherever you might find yourself)!

dungeonmaster heathy |

Hello,
like I said in my other game discussion,
huge ton of s~#* to handle......not really gone, but I'll be unengaged comparatively for a week or two.
Come up with your next move. The trial's approaching, and unless there's anything you want to check out, I'm going to fast forward to the trial itself when I next get this thing rolling in a week or two.
Also, feel free to buy what ever you need/want.
If you have the dough, you can get it in Lepidstadt; I'm not going to for instance rag on Leik because the shopkeepers will freak out that there's a Kafkaesque metamorphosed roach man in their store.
Buy what you want, guys.

I was still reviewing the thread since that time, but I don't recall any treasure in wraith-town. I'll let you know for certain.
As for selling, Larissa and Edwin could probably sell icemakers to Eskimos if they really wanted to, so don't worry about that.
And I'm unconcerned about when Leik joined us. He's here now.
EDIT: It appears that Will's treasure list (see my earlier link) is still accurate. I believe we agreed that Edwin would take the wand of ghost sound. Anything else in the list that suits your character. Edwin also expressed interest in any unclaimed alchemical items.
Larissa can use the mace if a better candidate does not speak up. Does anyone have a crossbow?
Also, for our illustrious DM, would you be able to provide sale prices for the more interesting and non-evidence items in the treasure bag?

Larissa Brightfoot |

Do we need the surgeon's tools for evidence? I think we found the killer we sought, but the scalpels might lead us to someone that could testify that the killer bought the tools.
Larissa has a pair of magic daggers and it feels odd to claim yet another magic weapon (especially considering how often she uses what she's carrying now), but if no one wants the heavy mace, perhaps she should put a dagger into the pool in exchange for the mace? That would give her a skeleton-bashing option should the need arise. Again.

Ragadolf |

Hey! I'm back from my self-imposed exile/requisite sanity safety retreat (AKA= 'vacation')
More or less sane and not too much worse for wear. ;P
Ed does have a magic whip, but it's not exactly a damage dealer. (You notice he mostly uses it to try and trip/grapple/disarm others for you guys) and while I envision him with a rapier, a magic short sword is certainly in character and usable. In case he actually has to fight something and actually hurt it. ;P
And, I think we planned on returning for the alchemist's lab, but not recall us actually doing so. Ed wants it to fiddle around with, but he's not keen on lugging it everywhere we go. :)
And he is inerested in any unclaimed alchemical items. When he can't contribute directly to combat, there's almost always an opportunity to toss something! :)

AinvarG |

9730 of assorted gems, coinage, and trinkets. (Divvies up at 1946 gp each)
+1 short sword (Edwin - take it and trade it for a +1 rapier using your gold, I think)
+1 heavy mace (Larissa since Rholf has a +1 warhammer?)
+1 mithral dagger (Larissa exchanges for the mace - Alinya?
12 silver crossbow bolts (The girls carry crossbows - 6 for each?)Wand of Ghost Sound 30 chg (Edwin)
6 vials of alchemist's fire (I vote Edwin and Liek each get two, Rholf and Alinya each get one)
two doses of dust of tracelessness (I vote Edwin gets these)
10 applications of silver weapon blanch (2 for each, can Liek use this?)
three packets of flash powder (I vote Edwin gets these)
five pots of alchemical grease (1 for each?)
Oil of Keen Edge (I'm thinking Rholf's scimitar or Alinya's crossbow as likely target weapons, but Edwin's new rapier would work nicely)potion of cure light wounds (I vote for Liek)
potion of water breathing (Who's interested?)silver surgeon's tools with tiny raven symbol and amethysts (evidence)
The books are valuable. There's a complete alchemist's lab on the desk.
How many of the books did we gather up? Did we pick up the alchemist's lab? If we did not pick up the lab, we left it for the police, I think
I inserted my suggestions in the quote above. I am basically ignoring value, but I'm afraid that Liek gets shorted this way, so maybe we need to provide additional loot for him.

AinvarG |

Very gentlemanly of you, for a dromite. ;-) Here's the proposed distribution from the post above with some adjustments as I saw how things were shaping up. Nobody's feelings will be hurt if you take this suggestion and toss it out the window, it's only intended as a starting point.

Leik Fire |

Leik will thank the folks taking back his younglings.
Also, he won't do much shopping. the item he needs (a crystal hilt) is still well out of his purchasing power and would likely require actually commissioning the piece since i dont imagine it would be too common.

Ustalav Tourist Guide |

Crystal Hilt
Aura faint psychokinesis; ML 3rd (+1), 6th (+2), 9th (+3)
Slot weapon; Price 11,200 gp (+1), 44,800 gp (+2), 100,800 gp (+3); Weight 2 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
A crystal hilt looks like a crystalline sword with no blade and comes in light, one-handed, and two-handed varieties. A soulknife, or anyone else with the ability to manifest a mind blade, channels their mind blade through the crystal hilt when summoning it. This does not otherwise alter the action needed to summon a mind blade, the summoner must simply be wielding the crystal hilt and choose to manifest the mind blade through the hilt.
Crystal hilts have 45 hit points and a hardness of 15.
When a mind blade is manifested in this fashion, the enhancement bonus and the maximum enhancement bonus of the mind blade is increased by the enhancement bonus of the crystal hilt, although any enhancement bonus above +5 is lost.
Characters wielding two mind blades only gain the benefit on the mind blade channeled through the crystal hilt. Multiple crystal hilts would be needed to affect multiple mind blades.
Throwing a mind blade while wielding a crystal hilt does not require the crystal hilt be thrown. If forming your mind blade into two blades, only one is altered by the crystal hilt unless you are wielding two crystal hilts.
Crystal hilts may only be made with a +1, +2, or +3 enhancement bonus.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Craft Crystalline Focus, ability to manifest mind blade; Cost 5,600 gp (+1), 22,400 gp (+2), 50,400 gp (+3).
