Say, I was wondering. Certain abilities I started with upgrade after certain levels, how are we going to work that in with the way you do things here?

![]() |

?...buy...abilities? The point of those specific abilities wss that I wouldn't have to get the abilities again but that they would naturally upgrade as I level. I don't understand the need to purchase something I already own. If it was something that needed to be taken multiple times, like toughness, in order to get better benefits, than I could understand...bit but it's class skill that levels with me. That's the point of a class skill. At least I thought it was...

xtnsn plz. Othrwse ur a n00b. thx.
Just practicing gaming short form.

Links to a screen shot of the class ability in question. It upgrades from simply leveling up usually
Martial Flexibility 1
Martial Flexibility 2

I'll patiently wait for the GM to help resolve this concern. It doesn't seem as if my concern will be able to be resolved easily otherwise.

@Board: Nothing "automatically" levels up, not BAB, saves, HP or any ability. This was covered in the Campaign Info and we had many examples and discussions about this in the Discussion thread.
You will need to buy it "again" to add more uses per day (GM will tell you how much, depends on the ability I guess), or to add abilities "automatically" gained. There aren't hard rules on what each buy will get you, Wolf will just make sure each special grows similarly for each "buy".
But don't worry that you will fall behind because of this (since this applies to everyone). Wolf has also said we'll actually get more powerful faster than people normally do in a standard "levelling" campaign.
Don't focus overly on the mechanical aspect of the game and just roleplay, you'll bring the effectiveness and role of your character, whether it says +6 or +8 on your character sheet.

tin_man |

Right, well again I take an opposite stance of Bastion. The mechanical aspects are what require the most attention in this game. Given the rules some ways of building a character are more efficient than another.
I don't want to overstep my boundaries, but if you'd like suggestions I'd be willing to help.

GM Wolf |

Board, do you need some hair extensions? ;P
Crystals, Board, you will upgrade everything with the crystal system in place. That reminds me I need to make a generic crystal vender, I think I will go with the Borderlands approach and make dispensers/vending machines/(What are they called?). ;)

You can have it that way but you won't get to far since you will never level up in this game. You can trade in crystals you find to have more class skills and to get more skill points. We are working in a different class system, one where you get to build whatever character you want.
Thx Aien. LOL.
1st - Everyone gains a feat every odd level in Pathfinder. Humans gain a bonus feat at first level.
2nd - You don't have the fighter or brawler class. You have some of their abilities.
3rd - You will be able to upgrade it.
4th - I see you feel that your character is being torn apart by there being less rules. How will you know this will happen when you haven't done anything to figure out how the system works.
5th - We can make a simple adjustment: She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + Dex modifier. If you want even more uses per day you may use a crystal to buy it, or buy an increase in duration per use. Yes this may be making you subdivide a normal class buying it piecemeal but you will likely be overpowered quickly enough. Stronger crystals will be used to gain stronger specials. Most specials usually increase in power as the player levels up. This system might not work, but also it is experimental.
6th - If you can't just enjoy the game and trust that it will work out in this experimental system, then maybe this game is not for you.
As you can tell Bastion was telling the truth.
You all may discuss how to improve on one another's characters. Though the choice will still be up to the player. I also see tin_man's point of asking before suggesting, if you don't want to hear it then why should they go through effort to help you?
On another note it looks like I am running things pretty much on my own so things will get filled out as they come out. Please be patient and suggestions are always welcome on my end.

I will state this as matter of fact like as I can. [Excuses]I had a lot going on yesterday. I was flustered with the idea that my dude wouldn't be growing well. I didn't eat my Wheaties.[/Excuses] Most importantly, [Facts]I ranted for no good reason and am sorry that I did that.[/Facts] I know I was being a butt, sorry about that. [Vow of Truth]I promise to not do that again.[/Vow of Truth] I realized something... [Epiphany]It's far more important that everyone enjoy the game than that I have a super awesome character.[/Epiphany] So, what do you all say, forgive me for having low IRL intelligence score? (Aka being stupid)

Garret Ironheart |

@ Board: No biggie, it's a little difficult to wrap this different of a ruleset around your head, when you've been playing standard 'leveling' rules for so long.
@Wolf: I suggest we do class features/specials by tiers of upgrade. IE: Deeds, starts at the lvl 1 version, upgrade brings it up to the lvl 3 version, etc.
Basically, the same with Martial Flexibility. First, upgrade bringing it up to the lvl 6 version. Uses per day, I have no coherent suggestion.
@Bastion: As it appears Wolf is allowing 3PP, you could look at Aegis and Soulknife, particularly the Shielded Blade archetype.

GM Wolf |

I forgive you Board, trust me it happens to us all. Thank you for the apology. I will do my best to keep you guys growing and going! ;)
@Garret, yes I am two steps ahead of you. I got the chart all set up and everything! Check out the google doc, SAO - Dungeon Crash! The link will be going at the top of the game as well.
Who wants another day before the announcement? I am fine extending the announcement as long as you guys want it. Though Monday will be the true deadline if not done before.
Ise'dranl will be joining us later, he is in Asia for the week!

![]() |

The general table I completely agree with. Great take on the "leveling" done in this game. I'm fine with one more day, but Monday seems a little long.

GM Wolf |

Please add comments to the doc. Unless you have permission to change something directly. Feel free to proofread.
If you are adding to the culture, history, and gods feel free to just add information. I actually wanted to start with Greek but got side tracked with Egyptian gods, it was a general outline and barely got work on them. Feel free to add info to any god that does not already have info for them. For each god we need a portfolio, domain, general personality, etc. Go crazy with this document, Death, Hepheastus, and Baris are the only gods that are set so far, though suggestions are still welcome.
Thank you for your vote Board! Now we have one vote for Monday and one vote for just another day. I can work either way just waiting for everyone to vote.

Bastion The Flaming Juggernaut |

hahaha no worries Board. I have great respect for you for apologizing for this (even if it was no big deal), it's that kind of attitude that takes you far in life.

![]() |

Thanks everyone. Means a lot that your so forgiving even off simple things.

Aien Exalmim |

Thanks for apologizing. Kindness on the internet is rare these days, so the more we have, the better!

All of the temples face into the center of town. Between each temple is a street. The streets lead out through the town to an edge of a plateau. A hundred foot down drop, straight off but there is a path down and a gate at the top.
if all streets lead to a cliff...that would put the city on a mesa, not a plateau, right?
sorry, OCD kickin' in

Don't worry about it, this isn't annoying, when I say "I push Garret off the cliff" you can say "you mean 'mesa'" and win :D
just kidding though, I'm happy to learn the difference

Garret Ironheart |

@Wolf: of course, long after the fact, i think 'Dammit! I should have called her Kami-sama.'
Also, here's this thing Deities by Pantheon

I'll be done in a bit and I'd love to enact my well thought out and strategic battle plan...
Step One - Find Enemy
Step Two - Hit With Board
Repeat step two till there is no enemy...return to step one.

![]() |

No...it's a blunt board...not a point. Well, anyway, don't worry, I'll protect you, squishy smart guy. Just stay behind me when we go out to fight the bad guys, alright?

Garret you should have permissions now and the link is above in case you need it.
tin_man since you have not interacted with anyone yet, you may walk into the monastery with Board, go into a temple, explore the town, bump into Aien and Garret.
;) I love your interactions!

I gave it some thought and I've come to the conclusion that I'm more interested in the mechanical aspect of this game than anything else. To that end I'm going to push my characters and use them as a basis for experimentation. If you want help with something than please let me know.
