Five hundred years ago, it fell from the sky, a mountainous tower of black metal that seemed to radiate pure evil. Since that time, hoards of unspeakable horrors have roamed the land, terrorizing all in their path. Many attempts to siege The Void Tower, as it is known, have failed. In these dark times, the surviving council members have hatched a desperate plan that many would call insane, releasing the Tarrasque. This mighty creature was imprisoned centuries ago by the Seven Heroes, a group of very powerful Adventurers who somehow managed to gain control of the monster with seven mysterious amulets. With these talismans, the Council hopes to somehow use the Tarrasque to destroy The Void Tower and then hopefully put it back into its prison. The only real problem with this plan, besides unleashing possible Armageddon, is that no one knows exactly where the talismans are. So a call to arms has been sent out for Adventurers willing to undertake the retrieval of these artifacts. Will you answer the call?

What I am looking for in characters:
The main deciding factor will be backgrounds. I am not looking for optimized characters, but rather ones that make sense with their past. You do not necessarily need to have a completed profile to be chosen, but I require the background at least be listed upon submission of said profile.

Sumbmittion cutoff date: Two weeks. You only need the fluff submitted to be considered for the campaign.

Name: Onoko
Race: Haven't Decided yet
Class: Magus 5
Archetype: Haven't decided yet

Fluff

Onoko is a female warrior, she had been trained since birth by her noble father (who secretly had wished for a son) in order to be the perfect noble wife. But alas this wasn't not to be. Onoko's mansion was raided by the order of the Void Tower while she was still young, killing almost everyone. Of Courses they made it seem like a bandit raid interested in cash and valuable. And so for the next 15 years onoko and her father's personal secretary ( Senshi) roamed the country. As she grew older and stronger she even sold her sword as a mercenary from time to time. Working for anyone who would pay her fee. She even worked for the order of the Void Tower a few times. Senshi disapproved of course but he stayed bound by his sense of duty.

Until not so long ago when the order of the Void Tower hired a small specialist group to go on a one way suicide mission without telling them. Upon the survivor's return they were all ambushed by the order of the Void Tower. Onoko and a friend of hers managed to survive barely. Senshi upon hearing the details of the ambush recognize the leader of the order's group as the men who lead the burglars into her home so long ago.

After careful investigation it appears that this man is the left hand men to the leader of the order of the Void Tower.

So this time around upon hearing of the Council call for a desperate action on the order's bastion and the Tower of Void, Onoko signed up with the Council for this operation for free. This time its personal. This time its for revenge, This Time its for laying the ghosts of the past to rest.

Dotting for interest, are you ok with the godling class from super genus games?

Would go Mighty Godling and would focus on being a switch hitter, so range and melee, trying to build a versatile martial character.

I present Maeltheron Timmerond, Male Elf Rogue Sniper for your consideration.

I am assuming that Racial Adjustments and 4th Level Ability Score Adjustments are after stat generation?

I can either use the background I just posted or use another idea that I have had bouncing around in my head. I have wanted to play a hobgoblin for a bit now. I may just end up doing that too.

What a hook.
I've got two unused characters right now that I can make some adjustments to, both campaigns didn't get past a few pages. A Psion and a Sorcerer. I more than understand if you don't want to mess with psionics. High stat would be prime casting stat. Low will be wis.

Hey Tierce! It's me (Ragar)! Are you submitting?

@GM SCV: I am involved in many PbPs and I post at least daily.

Sir Richard Knight, Holy Paladin of Iomedae, sworn to vengeance.

Richard's tale:

Sir Richard is a weary man. Ever since he was old enough to wield a blade he has fought, first for his town, and then for his nation, and Iomedae.
He watched countless friends die in battle, and his mother die of a rampant contagion spread out from that foul tower. But Richard was strong, for his goddess would surely guide them to victory.

Eight years passed, and Richard grew grimmer with each grave filled. His paladin order would frequently conduct raids, assaults and hunting parties against those of the Void Tower, but Richard began to see them as fruitless- what is today's victory when tomorrow we must fight again? Worse, the tower had swayed the allegiances of those he fought with; no-one was was from the temptation of power it presented.

His frustrations came to a head four years ago. Standing guard over a town's gatehouse, one of his close friends approached him, and stood with him on the battlements, looking out over the gathering monsters. She spoke about how much easier it would be to work with those of the Tower. Their progress was inevitable, she said, so why should we waste lives to merely delay? She reached for the gate winch as Richard drew his sword.

They fought there, in the gatehouse, and Richard slew his friend. As the battle ended, two guards rushed up the stairs, and seeing Richard there, lowered their weapons. In his rage he killed them both, and in that moment he felt his powers drain from him: in killing the innocent, he had fallen. He took his horse and fled the town, hearing it was razed the next day.

Four years on, he has found some redemption. He swore revenge against the tower, and fought on, alone- his brother paladins treating him with distrust. Finally the call to arms from the council came, and when Richard answered the call he felt the power rekindled within him- it was Iomedae's will that he see this mission through.

So saddling up his horse, he rides.Though still cynical from his long years alone, there is hope now. He prays this will lead to the end.

Focus: Strength
Foible: Wisdom

@ Tierce: Sorry to say I'm going to have to say no to the Godling. It's not a bad class, and I actually like it, but I don't feel it clicking with this one. Maybe another time.

@ Flashohol: Glad you liked it. Going to have to pass on the Psionics. This is admittedly my first PbP as a GM, and I think trying to port over Psionics might be a little much. Maybe next time.

Unless otherwise specified when taking average it is always half the hit die rounded up.

Aasimar oracle of life. Crunch will follow but here's the back ground for now. I'm not sure what the setting is for this game, default golarion or what, so I'm making it setting neutral.

Found in the wilderness by the nomadic tribes of the Woadlings Nelp was both revered and scorned. Being of an almost bestial mark he was considered blessed by the gods, his blood clearly had been mingled with an agathion celestial at some point. Who his mother was is impossible to say. Some thought perhaps she was an elf, considering his pointed furry ears and his affinity for animals. Others thought perhaps an evil wizard that had summoned a celestial and bound it to her carnal desires, why else would you see celestial blood, blessed by its nature, cursed with deafness. Clearly the gods had cursed the tainted blood.

As the years grew and the cursed black tower came, the tribe had to move due to the evil creatures taking over everything and causing dreadful casualties and wounds to the tribe. Nelp to this extent was a blessing to those that he helped. His bonds to life let him heal many who otherwise might have perished. But nonetheless the superstitious nature of the tribe ultimately had their way, and declared the tower a curse sent to punish them for harboring such an abomination. (the evil conjurer story seems to be the only one that stuck as he hit puberty and grew less cherubic and more gangly and earthly in appearance)

Now stricken from his only family, he has sought out the summons for help in banishing this tower so that he may return to his tribe, his only family he has known. With the tower gone, they may once again welcome him... or at least he hopes.

Forgot to mention that the setting is a homebrew. So you can go ahead and make regions/settlements needed for backgrounds. I'll incorporate them as best I can.

GM SCV, how common are firearms?

    Focus: Strength
    Foible: Charisma

    Dex: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
    Con: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
    Int: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
    Wis: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

    Dex: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
    Con: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
    Int: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
    Wis: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

    I'm going with:

Emerging Guns: Firearms become more common. They are mass-produced by small guilds, lone gunsmiths, dwarven clans, or maybe even a nation or two—the secret is slipping out, and the occasional rare adventurer uses guns. The baseline gunslinger rules and the prices for ammunition given in this chapter are for this type of campaign. Early firearms are available, but are relatively rare. Adventurers who want to use guns must take the Craft Firearms feat just to make them feasible weapons. Advanced firearms may exist, but only as rare and wondrous items—the stuff of high-level treasure troves.

I have a background I made a while back that I wish to use.

    Mathurin Kerbouchard.

I can either use the background I just posted or use another idea that I have had bouncing around in my head. I have wanted to play a hobgoblin for a bit now. I may just end up doing that too.

GM SCV, what are your thoughts regarding the background in the alias I linked? Is that sufficient or should I try for making a hobgoblin?

Just trying to the direction I want to go.

Or I could incorporate being a hobgoblin into that story. Hmmm, so many options.

Maeltheron's HP and Skill modifiers adjusted based upon newly rolled ability scores. Again, background and appearance can be found in the profile. Thanks.

    Grand Moff Vixen:
    Wow....just....wow. Really good story.

    Maeltheron Timmerond:
I would prefer if your background had the Golarion references removed. Other than that, pretty solid.

here is the starting point for my submission: the backstory:

    backstory condensed version:

Valterra hates her life. Her parents are nobles and so she must behave as such. She dosen't openly rebel knowing that she won't be able to practice her magic if she does soemthing that displeases her parents. So she wears the dresses and her fake life as gracefully as she can with out erupting. She plans to run away one day when she can forever be free of her stupid parent rules.

she goes by the nickname Terra

    personality:

Valterra is respectful on the outside but on the inside she wants to rip off people heads. Her only vent for her anger is using her oracle abilities. It's the only way she's allowed to destroy things.

In the following story I inserted a character for interaction but intentionally left parts unfilled to added later. this is the place to provide a connection to another player. the other person's profession, name, etc are really just left blank to allow a tie-in.

more detailed story (a page of her life):

I sighed and simply said, “Yes Mother.” I stared down at my pillow while my mother continued.
“You cannot go running around every time you feel like it. You must act like a proper general’s daughter and stop acting like such a wimp!”

I tightened my hands into fists but continued to look down at the pillow my hair making a curtain over my face. “Yes Mother.” I whispered this time in a tighter voice.

I felt her hand grab my chin and jerk my head up. My hair fell away and I was looking into her dark brown eyes. I didn’t blink as she coldly said, “You’ll do as your told or trust me you’ll find that this recent punishment is nothing.”

I couldn’t stop my mouth. My stupid filter less mouth. “Like being in this hell hole isn’t punishment enough.” I mumbled.

I felt the sting on my cheek before my brain had registered what had happened. Have you ever watched tar trying to go down a hill? Even if it’s a really steep hill it takes awhile. That’s how my brain was. It took a minute to register the slap. I had been slapped before of course. Usually once or twice a week ever since I started roaming the streets at night. Something about this slap was different though. It felt as if there was some finality about it.

I closed my eyes deeply and felt my fists begin to shake. The pots in my ever so beautifully disgusting room started to quiver and I took a deep breath.

I opened my eyes to look into my smug mother’s face. She quickly humped and left through my door.

My mother had no idea the damage she was causing. each slap each punch to the face, I lost more and more of my vision. was it the punishment or the fact that I was going blind what got me angry, did I even care.

I felt a tear escaping from one of my eyes and quickly wiped it away. I went to the bathroom and changed out of the elaborate dress I had been wearing into loose pants and a matching loose shirt. I grabbed a cord from one of my drawers and put up my hair out of my face.

I moved my stuff out of my way then stood in the middle of my bedroom. I got into my fighting stance, the same stance I had been tuaght since I was old enough to walk and started breathing in and out very slowly. Suddenly I made all the pots in my room come flying toward me. I closed my eyes and shatered them all together while I ducked. The shards flew everywhere in my room and I made the pieces avoid hitting me. Next I looked at the wall in front of me and yelling in anger I hurled a block of stone ripped from the floor and blew it out. A servant outside stared at me wide eyed and scurried away down the hall. I slammed another stone block into the next wall. Now my room had shards all over the floor and two of my walls were condensed to rubble. I then screamed as the shards around me exploded in every direction impailing themselves in the remaining walls and shattering everything around me that I didn't destroy yet.

I pulled the cord out of my hair and let it fall around me. I grabbed a bag and stuck a few pairs of cloths in there. I walked out of my non-existent wall into a new room down the hall.

My room would be cleaned in a day or two. New walls pots and cloths included. Sadly I did this frequently. I flopped on the bed of the new room, and stared up at the ceiling. Suddenly I had the urge to runaway again. So what if my mother said I can’t. I-I just want to leave. Go someplace. Maybe even to the Lower districts this time. I quickly packed my clothes and some money into a backpack and changed into some used cloths that didn’t look as expensive. I left my room through the window and landed in the rose bush that sat under it. I winced as my face and arms got cut but moved around the bush.

I avoided the guards around the house and climbed over the high wall that surrounded my family’s house. I landed barefoot on the pavement. There were people all around me and some looked at me oddly as I jumped over the wall but then ignored me. I walked quickly not even noticing where I was going.

Hopefully Mother didn’t realize I was gone or at least I hope she won’t find out any time soon.

Okay I read this again and realized how much she sounded like Toph >< However awesome that would be no... she isn't like Toph. I don't know how to explain it really but it's diffrent.... she's more.... I don't know.... tame I guess. Inside she's terrified of the world and she's afraid someone will find out so she hides it by being destructive. Any lets continue...

Lots of people started glancing at a person behind me. I tried not to look back hoping whoever it was wasn’t one of the big body guard people my mom regularly sent to find me when I ran off. I heard a voice behind me and turned around.

"This is going to sound really weird, but shouldn't you be, you know...home? It's getting late and you look pretty young. I could take you back to your house if you want.”

I flinched at the sound and I recognized the face. Famous local kid. Hot attractive, had fan girls running after him frantically all the time.

    Oh look I DON’T CARE!!!!!

Now I was really irritated. Apparently I still looked to rich or what ever it was that had made this boy (I couldn’t remember his name) offer to walk me home. I crouched down before I answered him and got as much dirt on my hands as possible then rubbed it roughly onto my face.

I now looked like I had rolled in mud.

Now, turning to the boy I glared fiercely at him. “First off, I don’t want to go home.” I held up one finger. “Second, I can take care of my self.” I ticked off another finger. “Third and last, buzz off.” I now held up three of my fingers and smirked at the boy in irritation. “Got it macho?”

"I'm not actually deaf," he replied, "and despite the fact that you seem to think I'm an idiot, I can understand what you're saying." he glared back at me fiercely, not willing to back down to any opponent, no matter that he wasn't in an arena or on some stage surrounded by thousands of fans.

I sighed and said, "I never said that I thought you were stupid. You wouldn't be so good at whatever it is that you do if you were." I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down. I tended to have some problems with filters. My mother had gotten mad at me allot. I hope she didn't get mad at me when I got home.....

I was shocked. I realized then that I wasn't going to go home. I wouldn't. I hadn't realized until now that that was what I was planing. I had just been trying to get away from them. Away from everything that my family imposed on me. A small smile lit my face up.

I started saying softly, "I'm not going back. I'm never going back." I was in complete and utter awe. The fact that I would make such a choice. I looked back up at the boy, I had completely forgotten about him.

"I-I..." I smiled at him and said, "Today is the happiest day of my life! Thank you so much! I'm never going home! Never again!" I started laughing hysterically and when water started coming out of the sky I tilted my head back to feel it on my face.

I had never been allowed to stand in the rain before, my mother had said 'It was bad for my hair.' Or something like that. I laughed again and started spinning in circles splashing through the small puddles that were all ready accumulating.

"I'm not going back. I'm not going back." I stated singing happily. I think this is how kids were supposed to feel.

Officially the BEST moment of my life!

    preliminary stats will be:
    (unadjusted for race)

    Str: 11
    Dex: 17
    Con: 15
    Int: 12
    Wis: 8
    Cha: 18

    class: Oracle (stone mystery)
    race undecided (probably human)

    Edward Sobel:
Do all of you characters have parental issues? Or just the one's I'm familiar with?

    GM SCV:

just the ones you are familiar with...
the following do not have any parental issues:
    Alistair Cooper
    Fulito Ferrywarden
    Kara Deepshadow
    Kobad the Sorcerer
    Klor Kragsson
Kimberly Snow (but then again she never knew her parents)
    Lang Fei
Little Orphan Annie (she only pretends to be an Orphan)
    Shishka
    Arvin
    Melody waverider
Bahram to some extent (street rogue)
    Vronim
    Breunnor Kegbreaker

I think thats all of em without real parent issues
    some characters don't have backstories
this is a rehash from Lexi's Harrowing adventure that seems to fallen flat.

On second thought I will indeed use the hobgoblin for the race. The back story easily supports any reasonable race so I will use that. It gives me the option to make the character any personality I want other than what the race normally has.

    background revised per instruction. Thanks
