You return to the cave where you found the hole in the ground and crawl through it. It drops down to a narrow, 4-footwide tunnel that winds 1,200 feet to the east, emerging onto a ledge overlooking the flooded quarry.
The flooded quarry is located a quarter mile from Belhaim, you can see the houses from the ledge.

A fifty-foot-wide strip of shore stretches between the lake's edge and the forty-foot-high quarry wall. It's strewn with stony debris - the result of cenuries of rockslides. Several larger boulders stand against the middle of the quarry wall.

A group of six kobolds stands watch at the cave entrances - four of them at the northern entrance and two at the southern. They attack as soon as they see you aproaching the caves.

While Hans and Alex attack the kobolds with weapons, Felicitas tries to distract the kobolds with a ghost image. Hans is able to kill one of the kobolds, Alex' arrow goes wide and hits the floor behind the other kobold group. The other group gets closer while loading their slings with stones.
