Iso crosses the small cave, passing the dead seer and reaches another cave. This one is bigger, but empty. Two tunnels continue from the south west end of this cave.

ting, distracted by the old kobolds ominous words falls behind a little when he sees Hans moving forward to investigate the first passage, he hustles up behind him saying

oy, wait's fer me's wroight

he then takes a quick look around

Iso investigates the first passage followed by Ting. It ends in front of a wooden gate. Behind that wooden gate is another cave. The ceiling is three foot high and the cave is filled with mounds of moldy straw from the floor to the ceiling. Three dire rats are in this cave but they seem to be larger and more ill-tempered than normal dire rats.

Ting opens the gate and the cruel dire rats attack immediately. These filthy rats are the size of small dogs. They have a coat of coarse fur, long and scabby tails, and two glittering eyes.

ting quickly kicks around some straw looking about and then heads out of the rat cave. Going back and heading to the south-west tunnel ting looks around as he proceeds.

Hans finally dispatches the reat, the furry ball lies now in front of him.

Ting inspects the rat cave and the tunnel. The rat cave is now dirty with butchered rats, but beside the straw on the floor empty.

The main tunnel leads back to the cave with the turtle pool. A smaller tunnel leads to the north about 25 feet from the tunnel entrance.

After looping around and mildly confusing himself, ting returns to the north tunnel, slowly so as not to lose his light source spinning around Hans head, he moves up the tunnel keeping a keen eye out.

Ting follows the narrow tunnel to the north and reaches another cave. The ceiling of this chamber rises to a lofty twelve feet. The cave floor drops away in to a pair of long, ten-foot-deep pits. Between them, a ridge of stone forms a dubious walkway to a landing on the opposite side, where a five-foot-wide shaft with a knotted rope hanging down into it awaits.

Just in the moment Ting puts his head into the cave several bullets coming his way.

Just for clarification - bullets, or sling bullets? If we have gun-toting kobolds I am slightly more intimidated ;-)

"Right then," Hans remarks laconically, "looks like we've found a few more of the locals. Let's pacify them!"

He then readies to move forward to eliminate the current emergent threat.

Hans moves into the cave while Ting cuts the throat of the first kobold in sight. Felicitas hears Ting asking for healing and uses her wand twice at the Tengu.

The kobolds on the eastern side across the chasm shoot sling stones while the kobolds around Hans try to hit him with their spears.

Hans swings his sword at one of the kobolds and dispatches it. Ting moves up next to Hans and swings his sword, but this time the kobold is aware and dodges. Felicitas intimidates the red-nosed-kobold on the other side of the gap successfully. The creature is shakened.
