Well, we haven't been very... materialistic really. I know there have been several things that we've missed or took the moral route instead monetizing things. However, I will say that I've been debating to pick up either Craft wand or Brew Potion as my level 5 feat.
Tera Flinders
Just reread the part where Aldern gave us the coin. It was 50 GP per, and Tera's already spent some of hers on things like repaying people.
Well, seeing as we can't really afford a fully charged wand, is there a partially charged one hanging around that we can all chip in for?
Tera Flinders
Just did. Sorry about missing that. I've been reading through the thread again, and, well, didn't realize you'd posted.
I've put the supplies we have in a spreadsheet so it should be easier to track. Everyone should be able to edit it. Click here to go to it.

Sorry for my silence, people. I'm running my first PFS special tomorrow - #8-00: The Cosmic Captive - and I've spent an entire week getting ready for and stressing over it. After tomorrow it'll be over, and I can get back to posting.
Salomae Amsel
Sorry for the sluggish posting guys; my mind's been in a million different places this week and it's made it harder to focus on writing. Still enjoying the game, though :)
*edit* I'm hoping that Kaelaah's player is just having an unexpectedly busy week and/or decided to take a day or two off in light of the website issues yesterday. Speaking for myself, I didn't expect them to fix it so quickly and was fully prepared to spend a day or two doing other things to entertain myself.
Kaelaah
Just a busy couple of days for me... last few work days before Easter and I foolishly didn't book the Wednesday or Thursday off - cue lots of folks seeking me out and starting with, "I'm on leave just before Easter and this thing's come up..."
...and then Thursday night was a binge watch of Jessica Jones (watching it on blu-ray and chomped the first disc in a single sitting!!!)
Back now though... and heading over to the Gameplay thread.
Tera Flinders
Yeesh. That bites. Makes me glad the company I work for is small enough that there's only two others in our department.
On the flip side, it also makes things a little awkward when clients call to ask you about stuff you've never touched before.

I decided to binge watch JJ last weekend when I was bedridden with flu. My second time, I'd watched it back when it came out. About 3 episodes in I realized that a character I'd made months later for a campaign is pretty much Jessica Jones. Way too many parallels and similarities for it to be coincidenatal. I hadbno idea I was doing it at the time I made the character, not my intent at all. A totally unconscious thing.
It was a very weird realization.

Cool... unfortunately we're watching it on LoveFilm by Post (Blu-Rays through the post) so I'm waiting on Disc 2... not the best timing with Easter on us!!!

In response to Tera's comment, how close to the Sea are we?
Kaede Mayumi
While Fridays and Saturdays are long days for me (and I didn't note the message), Kaede's sleeping deep enough until we have something louder to wake her. Combat starting will probably get her going.
DM Nate
Sorry for not posting last night- I fell asleep on the couch like an hour before I usually go to bed, which was probably for the best because I've been crazy busy all day. I'll post tonight (and if Kaelaah gets something up before then all the better)
Zache Kovachi
Sorry, DM - I don't think you updated the map as per my last action. You have me on the map as still prone and not moved from my starting position.
DM Nate
Sorry- apparently when I update the map on my phone it's not saving/syncing the way it should... I'll update it from my desktop momentarily

Hey guys, sorry for the extended silence. I'm overwhelmingly busy still and sadly I'm going to have to take some time away from the boards. We can pause this game if you want and I'll pm everyone if/when I get back about the possibility of picking it back up, or I'm willing to hand it over to someone else if any of you want to run it or know someone else who would? (Or if you want to run a recruitment for a new GM).
I've really enjoyed running this game, thanks for being great players.
Salomae Amsel
No worries, RL always comes first! I can go either way with regards to pausing the game for now vs. a new GM taking over. Thank you for the notice!
*edit* My neutrality is based on the fact that while I wouldn't mind pausing (because I'm relatively sure that we'd all be able and willing to pick it up later) I also know that players want to play. So if enough of us want to seek a new GM or if someone here wants to take over for awhile then that's good with me as well :)
Tera Flinders
As I said in the Shattered Star discussion, we're gonna miss ya. I'm not sure if I can take on running this at the moment considering what all I have on my plate, but I can try if you guys want.
Kaelaah
If DM Nate is only on hiatus, and by goodness he's got enough on his plate to say he needs to, then I'm all for tapping the pause button - I think we're at a pretty good point to do that? I'll miss the game while it is on ice but that'll just make me enjoy it a little more when our GM is back :)
Kaede Mayumi
I can wait. I think I'm the only one that doesn't have many games going on ATM though. Kaede works well with this group anyway.
Zache Kovachi
I'm personally inclined toward a hiatus. Give our GM a chance to sort out life and all that, and if it doesn't look likely any time soon, then maybe open up for a new GM.
Tera Flinders
First, I apologize that this isn't the post you were hoping for. I wanted to see how many of us are still patiently, or not so patiently, waiting for Nate to return.
Nate, if you're reading this, I hope things are going well for you and that you've gotten all those credits you wanted. I miss this game and I miss playing Tera. Hope things calm down for you soon. :)
Salomae Amsel
Wow, it's a good thing I happened to see where this was updated on the sidebar because it didn't show any actual notification on my Campaigns tab!
Anyhoo, seconding Tera - still here, still interested in getting back to it when/if Nate is able to return :)
*edit* Also, I see we're slowly creeping up on 3 months without a post in Gameplay (last one was May 18th) so someone might need to bump it if it gets close to August 18th without any updates, just so it doesn't default to inactive.
Tera Flinders
Nate said two months back on June 1st. If he hasn't posted by August 14th, I'll bump it. That'll be the two and a half month mark.
Kaede Mayumi
Still patiently waiting as well. I hope that things are getting better for you, Nate.
Orin Telmar
"Great news, my friends. I believe I have located this guru 'Nate'." Orin reports, rather proud of his sleuthing.
"He was reported to be traveling with an emissary convoy that should be returning to Sandpoint within 2 weeks. I believe we shall receive a full report at that time.
Tera Flinders
1 person marked this as a favorite.
"Yep, and there's only so many colors you can change the goblins into before they start blurring together," Tera agrees. Nearby, the goblins that had been attacking them are frozen in time. Their skin is now a lurid orange with vibrating pink polka-dots. A ghostly sound comes from somewhere nearby that sounds like an out of tune gnomish polka band.
That is amazing news. I'm glad to hear he's doing well. :D
Thanks for getting in touch with him, Joe. :)
Tera Flinders
Just out of curiosity, would anyone be interested in a little RP here in the discussion thread to get back into character?
Tera Flinders
The fire in the hearth is warm as the "Heroes of Sandpoint," the God-marked, sit around it. The wind outside is chill and can be heard to moan as it blows over the chimney. Mugs of cider and hot cocoa are at hand to warm hands and bellies. At one of the tables in the room, Tera is wrapped in a blanket that covers her up makes her look like some butterfly beginning to emerge from its cocoon. Her head and hands poke out of the opening as she looks quizzically at the hand of cards she held.
"Can one of you explain the rules of this game again? I think you're starting to make things up," she asks, not angry, but most definitely confused.
Of course we desire that! Now hop in here and explain the obviously convoluted rules to whatever game is going on to poor Tera. :P
Salomae Amsel
"Okay, so Kaede played three 4s just now - right? Now it's your turn and that means you need to be able to play three 3s, 2s, or 1s - otherwise you have to pass and it goes to Kaelaah's turn," Sal explains as she studies her own hand of cards, a slight frown on her face. Though not as bundled as Tera, a very large mug of hot cider sits to her left and never seems to reach more than half-empty before it finds itself refilled again.
"Oh and don't forget, jokers are wild so they can be any rank of card that you want them to be," she adds.
Kaelaah
All that sits next to Kaelaah as he scowls at his cards is a large tankard of water, pieces of citrus bob up and down around the surface as the shoanti dips his fingers into the cool liquid... wisps of steam start to waft around Kaelaah's hand as the water warms. The lowest card he has is a seven and he already regrets agreeing to wager some of his meagre coins on this frivolity...
Tera Flinders
Tera nods as Salomae explains the rules, then stops as she notices that she doesn't have three of any card and not a joker to be found. With a sigh, she mutters an arcane phrase and a ghostly, cartoonish goblin appears, standing three inches tall, on the table. It wears a jester's costume that constantly tingles as it runs around the edge and starts hopping around in front of Kaelaah.
"Rawr! The Pumpkin King demands a sacrifice of cards from ye," the tiny illusion says in a comically squeaky voice.
Tera smiles as she mutters another phrase under her breath and lets go of her hand, which floats off to the side as her mug of hot cocoa slides into her hands.
"Well, you heard the goblin. The Pumpkin King demands his cards," she says with a grin as she sips her steaming drink.
I finished reading through the game last night. I'd forgotten how silly Tera could be at times and it's something that I like about her. I could see her pulling pranks and tricks on enemies using her minor magics as much as possible. I just wish ventriloquism was a cantrip, although, I might be able to do something with message.
Kaelaah
Goblins? Pumpkin Kings? imps and frivolities...
A flame wreathes Kaelaah's hand as he waves sister Flinder's emissary away... the wager is as good as lost as he looks to Orin with an arched eyebrow, "Maybe the gods of luck and fortune are with you?"
Tera Flinders
The little goblin's hat catches aflame and the small little greenskin runs about the table while trying to put out the hat. After a moment, the flames quickly spread and the goblin now appears before Orin, slightly singed and wearing nothing but heart-print underwear.
"The Pumpkin King will hear of this," it squeals at Kael before turning to Orin. "I am here for the Pumpkin King's tribute of cards. Does Sandpoint have them ready," it asks, puffing out it's tiny chest and looking rather comical as it tries to give off an imperious air.
Tera, meanwhile continues to smirk behind her mug.
"Yes, the Pumpkin King is not be trifled with," she says, laughter glittering in her eyes. Nearby, her cards still float in mid air as if she'd never let go of them.
Kaede Mayumi
Kaede watches Tera's silliness with a faintly amused expression. She left her cards face down on the table, as she eagerly sipped at the heated cider, both hands on the mug for warmth.
"Who is this Pumpkin King? I've never heard of him. It must be a Varisian legend, yes?" she calmly asks, fully aware of the tall tales that are going to come from Tera's wild imagination.
Orin Telmar
Orin squints at his cards, finally realizing some of them are up-side-down, and says "I don't know if the gods of luck and fortune exist, but I'm certain THEY do not know I exist". He smiles at the group and continues "Better to be lucky in friends than cards anyway"
