Dark Heresy: The Oremor Affliction IC

Game Master Rookseye

On the agri-world of Oremor, at the very fringes of the Malfian sub-sector, acolytes of the Inquisition and their allies must confront a sinister conspiracy that threatens to shake the very foundations of the Calixis sector.

Swooping Hawk, that species must be placed on the Not-His List of Accepted Avians.

It would be fine with me to get started, I am itching to get going. ;-)

As far as I know, the only effect Iacton's feeling is that the feather's getting hot.

There is a stat for this major daemon in Ascension... a changer I think.

Yeah, the Tzeenitch one? (You know what I mean.)

Wait, I'm carrying around a feather from one of those? Great...

I have guessed for a while that the feather was from a Lord Of Change.

I also have guessed that the visions are coming from a LOC(...a feather of infinite possibilities...) So we are in the middle of a Tzeentch/Nurgle fight and guess which side is manipulating us...
Naa Lorm its a feather from a Swooping Hawk honest. Honest...

Wouldn't Savalos like that.

OK, please formulate your plan of action for entering the chapel. I'll post tomorrow for the entry itself, my double shift tonight left me wiped.

Lik, Cat, and Ellipsis. I will hopefully be posting the background capsules and character sheets to the wiki this weekend. My plan is to get them all done by Monday so that I can start posting the vignettes.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Don't think my idea is the best plan, but can't think of a better one atm. So if I get us all killed sorry. At least Ivaanov and Johnnie will still be around to save the day.

Lik, Cat and Ell; look forward to see you guys posting.

@Lorm, Yes I would rather it be a Swooping Hawk feather. The other options are the Lord of Change or a Kroot. And Kroot eat people.

Wow! Yeah give me a few to read all of that. Glad that post wasn't eaten.

Will be hard pressed to do justice following up after your post. Truly excellent Rook.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I just got home from work. That was some post. Uriah is thinking hard about what is going on and what the visions mean.

Now that is the type of writing that wants me to participate. WOW!

i love both posts!!!

Rad, was Rico slightly distracted, that he forgot trackers?

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Rook,

Would that last message be for Sav or Iacton? We are the only ones who know what number chit sickle the Commissar had. We haven't had a chance to tell anyone else yet.

EDIT: Correction... Actually Albrek was there, cause he mentioned #7 was his old unit. While everyone was at the Gearbox we saw the Eviserator and the Guardmen removing the mirror with the mark of Chit Sickle #6.

more than distracted.

Well, that post took too long to write. (Mine, not the great post by Rookseye.)

Yes, Albrek is aware that there are two legions involved, the 6th and 7th, what he has not worked out for himself yet is that they are possibly opposing one another in some way. I'll assume in your brief meeting at the front door of the Mercy you apprised Uriah of the commissar's affiliation so that continuity is maintained. I don't think Uriah would have known about the two different legions prior to a conversation at the Mercy, so we'll assume there was a brief one to justify his post.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Okay sounds good. Was just trying to follow along with who knows what with my notes to keep things straight.

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

In a sense, this logical leap makes sense, as Uriah would be the only one even vaguely aware that Tzeentch and Nurgle are Ruinous Powers in opposition.

The rest of you might see your foes in some manner as part of two distinct camps, depending on how much your character knows, for example:

Group #1: Yellobouros, Corrupt Arbitrators, 6th Oremor Legion, Eviscerator.

Group #2: 7th Oremor, Bathroom Beasties, The Prisoner.

You have it correct, continuity in this one can be a b~#%# even for the DM, sometimes, LOL.

I continuously look back to double check what each character knows in relation to each other with all of the investigatory splits we've had thus far.

Thanks for the kind words Cat, won't be long. You might want to grab a pic for your Catman profile though, I keep missing your skinny posts, LOL.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Oops, I do try to keep straight what knowledge my character knows. If I do make a mistake, please correct me. I would appreciate it. It still be a legit question, because Uriah knows that there are two ruinous powers involved, so it makes sense that they would use different groups of pawns. This being said, I will be more careful about it.

Dark Archive

The idea that two ruinous powers turned Oremar into their private battleground is a little disburbing.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Yeah it is, but that is chaos. Can you believe it, Uriah made a Daemonology roll.

lol Ill just post with my character on both threads. I like keeping my base profile clean.

Have you notice that the rolls I actually make for Uriah is are more dangerous for his health and wellbeing?

Hey, Cat, the avatar reminds me of the cylons from the 1st battlestar series LOL

OK, will resume tomorrow, guys. Approaching 3AM here.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

One of these days I'll actually succeed on a Fear check.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I failed two so far out of two.

Radavel wrote:

Lol ya it does to me too. I figured it would be apropos for the character.

Lol Lorm you might need to reroll the toughness test 1d1 will always get you a 1 ;-).

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Hmmm isn't it funny that Lorms Avatar looks like a Lord of Change. Crafty little bugger with that 1d1... Might have to sic the Inquisition on him.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Uriah still made it.
You know why I am using this avatar and it has nothing to do with a Lord of Change.
Too late, the Inquisition already has Uriah.

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

I must have been too tired to notice that one last night.

Heh, the way he has been rolling so far in this campaign, even rolling 1d1 isn't guaranteed for Lorm.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

No doubt, I think I would get a 0 if I roll a 1d1. I have failed every Insanity test, and until the last one every daemonology roll.

I was too tired too. It was around 1:00 A.M. here. What is a couple of zeroes between friends.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Horrible luck, Davi, maxing out the insanity points roll. I have been lucky so far with IP and CP rolls, but with my rolling luck, this will haunt me later.

Well, I rolled a 1 on the first dose so it all balances out.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Wow, what a post Rookseye. I think Uriah is in trouble when thoughts not his own enter his head.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Uriah definitely needs a rest. He has had how many visions in less then one day? He will go on as long as everyone else, but he is tired.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Well Sav is really putting his faith into the Emperor and the Relic on this one. If nothing happens it will be a serious morale breaker.

Wasn't sure we had to roll either Davi. Just wanted to declare my intentions.

Guess Lik, Cat, and Ellipsis are lucky the ones while the rest of us are in the hot seat. =)

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

There is always a chance. That's why I put my roll. Uriah needs fate on his side for all the bonuses to be applicable. He needs +50 in bonuses to hit by 2. Isn't that sad.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

You know, the Joker's right. It really does just take one bad day to make a man go insane. Also, I'm going to be sitting out most of this fight babbling about whatever the GM sees fit and probably clawing at my hands trying to clean off nonexistent blood.

Oh, and if I run into one more thing that causes Insanity, I'm probably going to officially become Unsettled.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Well look at the bright side. If you fail enough the small stuff just doesn't matter anymore. You'll start talking like Corbin Dallas.

Dark Archive

The demon on one end and the arbites units in the other, the noose is getting tighter....

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Well I hope Ishmael makes his Fear roll otherwise its just me against the Flamer.

Well, thanks to an unexpected bit of aid from the Warp, I'm not sitting on the floor babbling. Still have to spend the next two rounds putting two more shells in my shotgun since there's no way in hell I'm getting into melee with an evil fire elemental.
