Dark Heresy: The Oremor Affliction IC

Game Master Rookseye

On the agri-world of Oremor, at the very fringes of the Malfian sub-sector, acolytes of the Inquisition and their allies must confront a sinister conspiracy that threatens to shake the very foundations of the Calixis sector.

Anyone listen to Two Steps from Hell?

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

I haven't Rad. Who are they?

Assuming they're who I think they are, they make music for movie advertising. Movie trailers, mainly. You've probably heard their stuff before.

I only have one word for that last post, Rookseye, WOW.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Yeah gives you that warm fuzzy feeling knowing your in deep S*. It was the Wiry description that gave it away.

Thanks Lorm.

Sorry about the slower posting lately, but the work project is eating up a lot of free time. It should be finished soon, and by then I hope to get the wiki updated then with the long awaited timeline, NPC's, and terms that haven't been compiled yet.

Everyone start thinking about advances soon, too. Once the Gear Box/Precinct #77/Astropathic Choir scenes are completed, a hefty award of 300 XP will be coming your way.

I thought you'd like that, heh...

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

300xp, Think I might actually start looking at the 250 costing skills/talents/etc. To bad I haven't started learning to read yet. Might be tempted on picking up literacy.

Definately liked the Wiry comment. Gave me a good chuckle.

Glad to hear you will be finishing up your work project soon. Can't wait to see what happens next in game. Reminds me of the old Cliffhanger serials they did back on TV.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

Oooh, I can afford to increase my Weapon Skill, and I'd be able to increase my Agility soon too!

Also, bravo on the evidence.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I already decided what my advances will be. I will increase my int by +5 for 100xp, meditation for 100xp, and quickdraw for 100xp. I will be rank 3, an Aspirant.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

I am leaning on either picking Agility, or Fellowship myself. After that I have a long list of skills and Talents I want to get.

Dark Archive

That post sent shivers up my spine.

For Rook

Spoiler:
You are still open to the idea of someone taking over Ishmael, Albrek and the techpriest, right?

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Isn't that the truth.

Good, that means I'm doing my job. It is merely the tip of the iceberg too.

Rad:
I'm on the fence on this one. I'm all for it if the person taking them over took the time to read up on the character and maintain their individual personalities. However, I would prefer someone to introduce a new character if they preferred to play something more of their own creation. I feel this way mostly because of the fact that these three characters may have crossed over into "too-defined already to play as anything but an NPC".

So, I would say conditionally, yes.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Love the exploding nuglings Rook. Reminded me a type of nurgling from WarHammer Online. When you killed them they went off like grenades. They were raid killers.

Spoiler:
Will tell that to Lazaro. I'm introducing him to DH by way of several books.

I have been watching this anime called "Hellsing." The use of vampires by the Inquisition-like Hellsing Organization reminds me of radicals using daemonhosts. Inspiring to say the least.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Also, I forgot to mention in IC, great music for the scene, Rad.

Dark Archive

Thanks, Rook, been listening to that all week. :-)

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

With all the shots you guys are trading. It reminds me of Walking Tall with the shotgun exchange in the house. All your missing is stabbing Toombs with a potato peeler.

Dark Archive

If Toombs doesn't buy it in the next round, Johnnie uses the combat shotgun.

EDIT: Listen to the soundtrack I posted at the start of combat, I'm sure you'll like it.

Yep, that was the one I was referring to, really set the scene. Awesome combat by the way, Rad. Sav had it dead on. Reminds me of another round by round movie gunfight too, but I can't remember which.

Dark Archive

And out the vault, Johnnie goes...

Have to leave the house in fifteen minutes, have a meeting that I pray will prove lucrative...

EDIT: new previews for Ascension posted on FFG site.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I just got home after a tough WH battle with the skaven vs the llzardmen. It was a tough battle the whole time. The Doomwheel (otherwise known as the hamster wheel of doom) rocks. Any way we had a lot of fun with the battle.

Dark Archive

Rook, someone just posted in the Oremor Gamer Connection thread.

I had to look the Doomwheel up with the mental imagery it conjured. Skaven are awesome.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Lorms Doomwheel saved the game for him, and totally turned it around in his favor. Killing 3 units including a Stegadon, with a Skink Shaman.

Rook, just saw on the recuiting thread that there is another person looking to join the game as well named Ellipsis. Seems the game has got a cult following. =)

OK, now that we have largely completed those three divergent scenes, everyone feel free to spend the 300XP. Please post your final advances below, and I'll do the necessary bookkeeping tomorrow before posting.

Since we also have two more interested players, I may take a two night hiatus later this week from posting so that I can use my limited "Daddy-Downtime" to finally get that elusive timeline posted and catch up on the huge backlog of entries for the wiki page.

Of course, I may do all this and be compelled to post anyway, but either way I will let you all know.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

To repeat my xp's advances, so that you do not have to look for it, rookseye:

I already updated the profile.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Was a tough decision, but I finally decided on increasing my Agility to +10. So it adjusts my movement rate, to 5,10,15,30,initiative, dodge, and security. Figured the near death experience with the Nurglings would push my survival instinct up a notch. The whole flight or fight.

Planning on taking a Fellowship increase soon, as well as a couple of perception based talents and gambling. Unfortunately they will have to wait.

Already updated my sheet, and profile.

Dark Archive

Johnnie takes Security, Sound Constitution and Dodge.

Dark Archive

I got them Demon Hunter Blues

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

OK, I've updated all of the sheets and posted them to the wiki. This also includes Johnnie's new equipment and Savalos' adjusted movement rates. I have listed below the advances that the NPC characters have taken as well.
Just awaiting Iacton's advances now.

Albrek:

Common Lore (Imperial Guard)[100] S
Heavy Weapon Training (SP)[200]

Ishmael:

Simple Fellowship Advance [100]
Deceive [100] S
Die Hard [100] T

Ivaanov:

Medicae (100) S
Scholastic Lore (Chymistry) (100) S
Heightened Senses (Sight) (100) T

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Rook, I checked my char sheet, and you have that I spent the xp on simple int advance, but you did not put it on either stat column. I just thought you should know.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Thanks Lorm, that's why I post the update, the brain is often mush on Monday nights. It has been corrected and posted.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

Buying my second advance to Weapon Skill for 250xp. Plenty of talents I want, but I need to make up for my bad stat rolls first of all.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

OK Davi, updated and posted.

Dark Archive

Am at the office/house trying to survive the noontime heat and waiting from Johnnie's cue.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

It is windy here and 10:00 PM here. And also waiting for cue.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

And it's midnight over here. Ah, the joys of time zones.

Rook, I have a question for you, would Uriah be able to tell that the feather of infinite possibilities is the Changer of ways? And that the filth and decay is the Plaguefather?

Lorm, despite Uriah's additional experience compared to the others in darker matters of the Warp, such specificity is still beyond his ability to grasp. For him, the Ruinous Powers are akin to an onion that he has just begun peeling the skin from. He would be considered to have begun to acquire the knowledge to differentiate somewhat between the powers, but any nomenclature is beyond him, barring further research or instruction from someone in the know.

That being said, he will easily be able to realize there is a distinction between the two forces at work. Additionally, and perhaps more disturbingly, the lingering taint of his Dark Soul trait identifies more with the feather and the Changer of Ways. Read into that what you will.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

That actually does make sense.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

This one is for you Lorm.
