Are we using the 3.0 errata for camo cloak effects vs being shot at?

First Dark Heresy combat ever... What tools do I make?

Dodge, Attack & Damage?

I vaguely remember something about aiming for +10.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

The counts as extreme range thing, right? Yeah.

Dark Heresy is a little weird. Basically you get one action per turn, but a bunch of things are a half action. Aiming (which nets you +10) and firing a single shot are both half actions, so you can do both. You also get to Dodge (and parry) once per turn as well, which don't get half actions.

That's the basics, but there are a lot more actions you can take. See the campaign section for more.

Jene just had a pistol, so... She'll wait until she has a clear shot.

WS 41, BS 42, Str30, T30, Agi34, Int32, Per28, WP30, Fel37 Wounds: 8/13, TB: 3, Armour All: 4, FP: 1/2. Deathlight 15/18

BS 40 aim is +10. Damage is 1d10+3.

If you get a 10 on a damage dice you might get a righteous fury and need to roll again to confirm it. If you suceed roll another 1d10 and add it to the total for damage. If you roll another ten no need to confirm and roll again... until you don't roll a ten.

Everyone can parry it's just your WS but balanced weapons like a staff or sword get a +10. Dodge is a skill based off your Agility. Unless you have certain talents you only have one attempt to evade a single attack in a turn.

There is an advantage to her only having a stub revolver. Enemies might just try to dodge (either way using up their evade for the turn) or save their reaction for fear of the more potent weapons... Eldar aren't super tough as it is.

....that said I miss my full combat gear right now. I'd happily unload an exterminator cartridge on them. But seeing as the xenos are crawling out of the woodwork it might be time to lug it around in a case with them.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Vasyl has an even worse BS of 30 - which is actually in very average 40k human territory.

I chanced a full auto shot as I didn't know whether he had been seen or not. If he hadn't been, that would be a +30 bonus to hit plus no chance for the eldar to dodge. And full auto has a +20 bonus on top of that anyway.

After this point, I might go with the suppressive fire action and try to pin down the eldar with lots of bullets.

Hmm... rolled 95. Shot herself?

That's just a miss for single shot. 96+ would potentially be a jam.

Heavens, flirting with disaster! Worse disaster, I mean.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

It happens. It's effectively a 1 in 20 chance. I'll be posting in an hour or two, depending on how work goes.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Good stuff.

Are we in Round 3?

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Yup, sorry. I need to remember to label the rounds.

Not a big deal, I only have 6 bullets :)

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Apologies for delay. This week has been tricky for me getting to update pbp.

Female Human(Schola Progenium) Adepta Sororitas

I thought they were all dead. Did one survive?

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

They're all down. Two are dead, but one is busy bleeding out.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

The Paizo goblins are having issues.

A heads up. I'll be at a con for most of today and playing D&D for most of tomorrow.

Assuming the theory of being descended from apes is not common knowledge... do we know what a monkey is?

And, definitely not intent on starting a debate of Creation vs. Evolution!

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Given the Jokero, I would imagine there's still a few left somewhere.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Sweet. When my arms are less like fleshly lead lumps attached to the pain joints known as my shoulders I'll pop along.

First interaction with Eldar. You're doing a great job with characterization, but Jene/I am fairly useless.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Sorry to hear that. Maybe she can be making plans?

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

A suggestion? Maybe folks should wonder why he's so willing to talk...

Been wondering the whole time.

Stalling for time, but you played it off as cocky... So just going with it. Figured it was an aspect of the race I wasn't familiar with.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Eldar are certainly portrayed as arrogant, and I imagine for the Dark Eldar this would be even more so.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Oh Vasyl is wondering but is fine with pumping for info and then assessing.

Off Topic:

Anyone in the United States do DevOps for a living, specifically with customer facing experience (for a tech vendor)?

Solutions Architect or Deployment Engineer.

OMG, don't tell me the most useless character... Jene, is the only one that saved vs. Fear!

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Well, I think Lothar still needs to roll...but yeah, so far.

Sadly, Vasyl, Jaded is more standard human murder - the sort of thing a long time beat cop would go eh at but your average, off the street Joe would turn into a jibbering wreck. The violation of the laws of physics doesn't qualify.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

That's reasonable. You can't blame me for asking though. :D

Even with my free reroll.

Lothars not afraid of xenos... but clearly it's a xenos witch!

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

At what point will Vasyl be sufficiently "away" from the creature to try and regain control?

I think Lazerus passed his fear test. Are we in combat with that thing or how is this working?

Hate to meta game, but what are our options other than TPK.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

I think for ease of plot we'll have you spend a couple of rounds regrouping.

You're not in combat, as such, but we'll move in rounds for ease. I think the dice roller goes 1-100, so 100 would be...bad.

You can defeat this thing...but it's also not required. It's not interested in you. You can run.

Of course, getting your new friend out alive is going to be a challenge...

WS 24, BS 43, Str 31, T 40, Ag 39, Int 33, Per 37, WP 46, Fel 14 Wounds: 10/10, TB: 4, Armour All: 0, FP: 2/2

100, +6 degrees of failure for 160. + any extra degrees of failure for his fear effect, what level fear was it?

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Level 1, thankfully. It's freakish, but not utterly terrifying.

141–160 - The character crumples to the ground for 1d5+1 Rounds sobbing, babbling and tearing at his own flesh,
and may do nothing. Even after he returns to his senses, he is a complete mess and at a –20 penalty on all
Tests until the end of the encounter. The character gains 1d5+1 Insanity Points

WS 24, BS 43, Str 31, T 40, Ag 39, Int 33, Per 37, WP 46, Fel 14 Wounds: 10/10, TB: 4, Armour All: 0, FP: 2/2

1d5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

2 rounds and 2 points insanity. Could have been much worse.

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Could Vasyl find some lumens, preferably powerful ones?

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

You're on a building site, so you absolutely can.

Dice aren't cooperating with Jene.

WS 24, BS 43, Str 31, T 40, Ag 39, Int 33, Per 37, WP 46, Fel 14 Wounds: 10/10, TB: 4, Armour All: 0, FP: 2/2

Round 2 of insane rocking back and forth.

Gibbers in Bantu... doesn't even know Bantu...

Male WS 33 BS 30 S 37 T 42 Ag 45 Int 36 Per 37 Wp 34 Fel 33 | Wounds 11/11 | Fate Points 1/4 | Init +6 | Armour 4 Head, Arms, Body| Armageddon 15/15, Orthlack Mark IV (12/12).

Perception or awareness? Makes quite a difference!

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Hmmm. An argument could be made for either, so choose whichever works for your character.

Female Human(Schola Progenium) Adepta Sororitas

My awareness was not enough to find it, but with the light on it can I shoot this round?
