I miscalculated xp and only just caught it. Also, we're not yet rank 4 as 400xp isn't counting towards rank advancement.
Imposter Background 400xp
Trade (technomat) 100
Trade (technomat +10) 100
Barter 100
Charm 100
Agility +5 100
BS +5 100
Fel +5 100
Awareness +10 100
Dodge +10 100
Drive (ground vehicle) 100
Concealment 100
Deceive +10 200
Inquiry 100
Sleight of Hand 100xp
Medicae 200xp
Tech-Use 200
Demolition 100
Silent Move 100
Unremarkable 100
Looks like Vasyl will be passing on those medicae kits for now.

As it turns out, Spotify has a very solid Dark Heresy-themed playlist.

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

No worries!
It's a question stemming from the wargame terms.
"Basic" weapons are rifles, or analogous.
Your answer helped me decipher the system, it's basically matrixed: pistol, basic, heavy... vs. specific ammo or damage quality, Laser, SP, Bolt, Melta, etc...
Seemed to make weapon skills too specific, but hey that's how they roll.
Thanks!

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

In the UK? What industry are you in?
Game question, can we get stuff like red-dot ladder scopes, silencers, etc... Jene is... subtle :)
Also, now that I understand more about game mechanics, thinking of Void Commercia as background.
I suppose it's the classic broad or deep with the skills/talent buys and spending the XP.
I'm trying to identify a niche for Jene, I guess... I think I'm going to go book smart and one with the "system" able to manipulate Imperium, Adminstratum, Bureaucracy, etc...
She's Void Born, so I'll focus on Pilot Civilian Craft. And she really just had an SP Pistol. I'll worry about making hey badazz, later.

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

Also, how do you handle or houserule overlapping skills gained from different sources?
Adept gets Common Lore (Imperium) (Int)
Void Commercia gets Common Lore (Imperium) (Int), other career paths can take this and may not have it in their starting package.
I saw some suggest getting it at +10 or gaining Talented. These suggested fixes may come from Rogue Trader?
I guess per RAW, it's just too bad... you get nothing.

Vasyl Zima |

You may find this helpful.

JonGarrett |

Yup. Mostly because I've never played Only War and figured more skills never hurt anything except maybe my sanity.
You can get what you need for a disguise, and buy items you need from the ship's stores. Unless you can argue a disguise that 100% need a silencer for...
My job is a night reception position at a hotel. I actually do a second job of freelance writing while I'm at that job, amusingly enough. You get a lot of time to do stuff at 3am when things aren't on fire.
It's also when I do a lot of RPing.

Lothar Von Bismarck |

If going with the noble cover I'm thinking...
The obvious stuff
GQ Laspistol, BQ Monosword, some nice robes with a cowl, GQ Light Flak Cloak, Microbead, Writing Kit
Hidden in the robes...
Advanced Hardened Bodyglove, Steel Burner Laspistol, Grenades and other small utility items.
Leave his flak armour, rifles and other gear in his luggage for when we are ready to strike.
Well enough geared to fit the part at a glance but with a few teeth beneath it all in case of an unexpected fight.

Vasyl Zima |

If Vasyl goes with some sort of technomat / technical assistant role, he can openly use techie gear. Like an auspex, to give us a better shot of not getting ambushed.

JonGarrett |

I think it depends on the model. Stormtrooper versions have the backpack for both weapons, but other versions are smaller and easier to carry. I would imagine it's simple enough to hide.
Inquisitor Darvidia Eliza is a she, although it likely won't matter much.

Afan Driscol |

Afan will pretty much go as himself. It is not uncommon for a noble to keep a dangerous man on hand in case he is accosted. Depending on the rules he may be your personal champion for honor duels and such.

Lothar Von Bismarck |

Let's see you should have 120x6=720 Thrones
Carnodon would be a solid pistol at 200 Thrones, keep it inside your robes and keep her starting pistol on her hip. It wont stand up to too much scrutiny but should work most of the time. It's got decent stopping power and has the accurate rule so she can make the bullets count if she is aiming, consider a red dot sight for 80 if you have some money left.
Post Errata mesh combat cloak is a bit of a steal at 350 Thrones. Armour 4 all over. However a mesh cowl and hardened body glove clock in at 400 thrones for AP3 all over if you want a more discrete look. The hardened body glove can fit under tailored or baggy clothes like robes and be tough to see, keep the mesh cowl tucked under her robes too... when combat kicks off she can pull it up.
Need to dash though but combat wise those are good options... stay alive long enough to get the nice non combat bits!

Vasyl Zima |

Depends on the exact balance of subtlety versus combat effectiveness but Lothar's suggestions sound good to me. I will say that an autopistol can be useful, if only for repeated suppressive fire. That doesn't require any great skill in shooting, just pointing in the right direction.

Lazerus Mast |

Lazerus will go as the Lords 'medicinal' supplier aka drug dealer for when things get boring.
With his tattered shirt, chem-use and merchant skills he should fit the bill
The hellpistol will be keep in a bag but the compact las pistol with be in a pocket.
His guardsman flak armour stays at home until it's needed

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

Alias: Esther "Astrid" Krug
Petty crimes, smash and grab, cons, blatant defiance of authority, but nothing violent. Clean, for going on two years.
Noble's Driver/Valet
Cool factor: would rather avoid robes as the driver. Maybe high boots, tunic and hooded cloak. I guess AP 3 is less noticable.
Auto-pistol, 2 spare clips, red dot sight of available, I wouldn't mind a silencer - discretion (unless it's a problem).
Civilian Craft or Hoverer :)
We get starting gear, right?
Also, the resource I have says 100/month for an Adept.

Lothar Von Bismarck |

@Jene you're rank 3 so it becomes 120/month. You have six months wages so that's why I said 720 Thrones.
Cover: Jebediah Oberfinkt, noble visiting the world. Likely we can make it appear that he's on a long journey and effectively waiting on another ship to come in to continue his journey. With warp travel he could be there some time, flexible enough on what he's doing as he's burning time.
Falsified papers, a few nice sets of clothes... that aren't his dress uniform or something that ties to his homeworld.

Callidia Doranis |

Alias: Sister Jessith of the Missionarius Galaxia
Disguise: Bodyglove and Mesh cowl hidden under Ecclesiastical robes. Flail visible and Bolt Pistol 'concealed' under robes. Las Pistol actually concealed.
Sister Jessith has been traveling with Lord Oberfinkt for some time, ministering to those in need and acting as Ecclesiastic council for the noble lord.
Items needed for disguise: Ecclesiastical robes suitable for Sister Jessith's station and organisation. Hardened body glove.

Vasyl Zima |

Alias: Lex, technomat servant of Jebediah Oberfinkt
Rugged if worn overalls, concealing mesh armour.
Orthlack Mark IV on hip
Auspex out
Combitool out
Hidden :
Carnodon hidden on back, as is bolo
Multikey

JonGarrett |

Alright boys and girls, you happy with your aliases and backstory? I'll be going info-dump and moving to the planet once I finish eating more pizza than any one mortal should (but it's pizza, why would I not eat it all?), but you'll still have a little time to tweek things.

Vasyl Zima |

Checking one last time over equipment:
Visible:
Rugged, worn overalls of the local style
Orthlack Mark IV on hip
Auspex in hand
Combi-tool on belt
Data-Slate on belt
Backpack on back
Gas Mask around neck
Photo Contacts (worn but difficult to make out)
Microbead in ear (difficult to see)
Concealed:
Mesh Combat Cloak under coveralls (hood *not* up by default)
GC Mono Bolo Knife
Carnodon
Screw-on silencer intended for Orthlack
Weapon Maintenance Kit in back
2.5 Days Combat Rations in pack
Cameleoline Cloak in pack

Before I forget to mention it again - the Inquisitor, in addition to gear and clothes befitting your backstory, has also provided background documents, I.D's and the like. In addition, you have 1000 thrones to keep your cover in place and, in an emergency, buy gear.
...keep the receipts though.

A heads up. My phone is currently dead (loose connector), so I'll be slower to respond than usual. Hopefully back to working order tomorrow.
