Fearing that Judge is going down JT sets his feet and opens up full-auto on the last remaining hulk his Armageddon Pattern rifle spitting large caliber slugs that slam home at point blank range.
"Back the truck up freak! Here is a little something for you!
1d100 ⇒ 9
1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6okay, maybe not slams, but how about pings?
Please adjust damage etc per the rules, I still don't have them all down.
Scrambling around everyone's makeshift barricades, Occux takes Nebdel's new rifle and begins cleaning and clearing it. Julian unloads a sizeable chunk of his clip into the massive beast of flesh and steel, one round manages to dent its skull plate while another tears a large chunk out of its collarbone. Nearby Jacques lies stunned and convulsing. Octus fires a short burst at the hulking mass while praying to the emperor but it appears that his prayers fall on deaf ears as his volley finds nothing but armoured plates. Julien is forced to stare down the massive barrel of the creatures gun arm but when his life should be flashing before his eyes, instead he hears the familiar, and at this time beautiful, sound of a slug jamming itself solidly in the barrel. The creature stares blankly at its arm, it appears unable to react without its weapon and blankly stands there as you fire round after round into it until it collapses.
On the other side of the lift there is a open access hatch that was hidden from view before and Occux given a chance to examine the two hulking bodies identifies them as combat servitors while Jacques, after finally shaking off the effects of the stun whips, identifies the humanoid as an arcoflaggelant.
Watching Occux cranking off rounds into the dead whip armed freak JT nods in approval, "Hell yeah get that aggression out man! I knew you still had some human left in you. Tell that dude to get some of that. Retribution from the Emperor whip man, how you like us now!?"
JT picks up the shotgun and blasts the cameras down to prevent further spying.
"Lights out sucka! We are coming for you next!" BLAAAM
"Judge, can you hear me bro!? Damn man you look like shit! That guy was like, "What up!?" then whip crack and you got knocked the f@#* out man!"
It feels as if there is a ringing in Jacques's head, and it simply wont stop. "Yes, blazes, I hear you! Emperor, damn this bastard to hell and back again. I suppose we won?"
Jacques walks over to the group of dead combatants. He glances the whipping creature up and down and shakes his head. "Arco-Flagellant. Criminals turned into a special kind of servitor, they're pumped full of narcotics and sent into a whirling fury. We're lucky to not gotten pulped ourselves."
Jaques begins searching the corpses, kneeling next to Occux.
"How did this man get access to an Arco-Flagellant? You can't just walk into your corner drug store and find one... unless you were making your own..." Jacques says, thinking out loud.
"An Arco-what-the-hell!? Why in the name of the Throne would you want to take some penal planet hardened convict and give him whips like powerfists then pump him full of stimuroids?"
"I hate to piss in your z rations but I am willing to bet that a$#~**# is sending another kill team as we speak. We gotta move, question is where?"
before jumping into crunch I wanna see what careers people are interested in. I am ask hoping to get everyone working together building a team vs individuals considering the lethality this system can have.

Got a character rolled already, lol. Was actually looking to join another Play by post somewhere else but it's either so slow paced it might as well be standing still, or very freshly dead so... Octus Camillus, essentially a recovering addict and former pimp with a double barrelled shotgun and a silver tongue he uses to confuse people.
Also there's a few things from Only War that I'm more partial to than vanilla Dark Heresy, such as full auto burst being -10BS instead of +10, kinda gives single shot attacks an actual purpose instead of a fallback if you've got a full auto weapon. Then there's the possibility of customizing your weapons beyond simple attachements. I'd recommend looking into it if you haven't.
Sounds interesting so far. I haven't finalized creation rules yet so don't roll your stats/wounds/fate yet but I always give max currency to start so you can work with that for now.
yeah haven't looked at Only War and haven't picked up Black Crusade yet either since my group didn't give me much chance to run despite my eagerness. For some reason they don't like the setting.
Damn, you've got a larger heaping than I'll ever have. Heh, so are we only going for the base Dark Heresy classes here or are we also looking at a combination thereof? S'not like I'd be that one guy who'd beg to be an Astartes and run around blowing shit up; I'm just curious.
If it is only Dark Heresy, than I'm looking at either being the lore-guy (Adept) or an Assassin, though played like a Bounty Hunter in the line of Harlan Nayl from the Ravenor series.
Alright then. Come to think of it, I've changed my mind. I'm thinking along the lines of an Arbitrator, older and more experienced, sort of the investigator type.
Backstory wise you have all been recruited by Interrogator Nethial Hobbs Risedar III
This will take place in the Calixis sector starting in Hive-world Brost
I like everyone to take the time to decide how you were recruited
The more stuff I can work with the more rewards will give out
Right then. It's getting late in my parts (that's New York ie. Eastern Standard Time for future reference in terms of timezones) and I'll hopefully have a somewhat brief backstory up sometime tomorrow. I'll hopefully find some time during the day.
I'm debating between Ballistics Skill or Perception as my main skill. Which would you fine fellows say is best for an Arbitrator?
Also, and I'm sorry if I don't sound well versed in how the game usually works, are we the subordinates of the Interrogator or were we just recruited by him? Also, from what Ordo is he?
Dice rolls are done in the following format: [dice=whateverrollyourmaking]1d4+20[/dice and then a final bracket. For better reference, the "how to format your text" box is at the bottom of the post-box.
I've got a character generator actually, so if anyone would like it...
Time to rerole divination then, seeing as I forgot to actually role it here... YAY!
1d100 ⇒ 26
I'm also going to switch Fellowship with Perception, so that's Per: 35 and Fel: 31 + 3 because of divination.
Backstory:
Jacques Equus hails from the little important Imperial world of Harna VII, a stop-gap measure in a little corner of the Calixis sector. Though the simple tenants of "keep your head down" and "don't ask too many questions," ran equally true on Harna as well as any Imperial world, there are oftentimes the men too steadfast or naive to truly uphold those tenants. Most often, these men and women, paragons of loyalty and honor they may be, are not want to last long in the Imperium, even in the realms of the Arbites. Jacques is an old-school kind of copper, a man who sticks by the rules and by his guns, both metaphorically and literally. Not unused to walking the beat, Jacques became accustomed to his city, Terma, and its denizens. Jacques, unlike many of his peers, who through the decades of service in the Arbites grew to the upper echelons of the force, sequestering themselves up in the headquarters away from the necessities of enforcement lifestyle and the zeitgeist of the world at large, never seemed to see eye to eye with his superiors.
While a season member of the Arbites, Jacques never seemed to rise higher than his ranking as an investigator, even in his old age. This may inevitably have proved a boon as the upper echelons of the Adeptus Arbites on Harna VII became wrapped up, whether intentionally or unknowingly, in a crime racket for the transportation of heretical tomes and materials from some of the more crucial worlds in the sector.
In his investigations, Jacques learned of these machinations and felt determined to stop them, or die trying. He was beaten to the punch however, as the Interrogator Nethial Hobbs Risedar III tracked the racket to its source on Harna VII and killed all those responsible, even eliminating some of the less responsible pawns in the scheme for their unwitting involvement. The lone investigator who sought to fight against the crime was brought before the man for "interrogation" and was almost executed too. Jacques, however, managed to convince the interrogator of his skills, his loyalty to the Emporer and his steadfast devotion to the truth underlying all things, all heresy and all crime in the galaxy. After this encounter, the Interrogator decided to take Jacques on as part of his entourage.
