I still need to spend the starting exp (10 pts), tabulate carrying capacity, health, etc. as well as pick up some sort of weapons/combat skill so I can defend myself but the skeleton of the character should be fairly well done. Let me know if everything looks okay and if I need to add/redo anything that I've got so far. Thanks!

Alrighty, I think I've finally got everything mechanical done aside from buying equipment! Regarding background, is there anything that we need to know or incorporate or are we good as long as our character either lives in New Orleans or at least has a reason to be there?

Regarding background and skill selection, I'm thinking of someone that has come from what was probably a middle to lower middle-class family and either works or has worked with and for people that belong to both the lower and middle classes. As a result, she's had to pick up a bit of street sense on how to deal with some customers as well as learn how to use and carry a firearm to protect herself. Even though her education has been somewhat limited (public education + technical school), she's fairly intelligent and personable which works to her advantage when it comes to dealing with others and getting hold of what she needs to do her job. It's also amazing what you can overhear while you're working on someone's car...
I was a little unsure on the languages thing but used this to get a general idea of what languages you'd expect to see in New Orleans. I selected Spanish because it's probably the second most common language for the entire country. I went with Vietnamese because given that I envision her work location possibly being in or close to some of the poorer areas of town I imagine it wouldn't be unheard of for her to have picked up a little here and there. And of course a little bit of French simply due to the history of the city itself, but I did waffle a bit on that one.
Anyhoo, I think that's all I can think of to mention or ask about for the time being. Let me know if there's anything that needs changing or updating or if there are any questions!

Hi everybody!
Yes, by all means, let us do this!
So, I should really put down some actualy numbers that look like a character, huh? I hear that's good sometimes. =)
Alright, I'm gonna compile it here, see if that makes it easier to refine. (Ignore this, I'm just getting the numbers down in black and white.)

Is this skill "Empathy" and "Human Empathy" the same thing?

Lady Ladile |

Hi, still here! Seems the DM has been busy since the start of the year...at least I hope it's just that and not us (me) taking awhile getting characters together that's killed the enthusiasm.
I also just realized that I'm in at least one other game with everyone else that still seems to be checking in...excellent. That means I know where you live and can poke you if I need to >:)

DM Dickie |

Sorry, been super sick at the same time as a new semester of classes is starting, so incredibly distracted. Nearly back to 100% so trying to get caught up on stuff.
Is this skill "Empathy" and "Human Empathy" the same thing?
Their is an Empathy skill group. See the "Skills by Cluster" document in the shared folder (relinked here) to see how those break down.

DM Dickie |

Sorry everyone, real life, schedule mishaps, and a million other little things got in my way. I meant to check in a week ago, then another minor disaster happened. Finally able to catch a breather and get up to date on everything I have going on.
So, on that note, can I get a check-in from everyone still interested in proceeding? Just pop in and help me out a second by posting your character's name. I'm going to skip some of the minor intro stuff I was originally planning in the interest of moving forward, so we're going to assume that the team has come together recently, but has little actual experience investigating and hunting monsters so far. You met through a contact/friend you all had in common who is in need.

Hi DM!
Sadly I'll have to bow out... its been quite some time and I recently decided to try the GM mantle and adding another game right now would be too much.
It would also not be fair with you, since you want to test your rules and need full committed players.
Feel free to use Larysa for any purpose. Sorry once more.
