Zoltan gives one last frown at the door before turning his attention to the crate the group is now investigating. I can swim, not really my thing but, hells who can't swim?? The gladiator begins removing his spiked armor to facilitate a swim over to the crate.

Zoltan doesn't have swim ranks, but I don't think anyone does so he's as good as anyone in the party to go. So unless anyone objects he'll swim to the crate and attempt to lift himself up into the warehouse itself.

Arjunta readily scampers up the rope, moving into the room above as stealthily as possible.

Zoltan will Take 10 on the climb check, total of 15 should be fine on a normal rope climb. The gladiator alights in the interior of the pelican and looks around to see what he can see. Unlike his companion however, he makes no attempt at stealth.

Darkness fills the warehouse, the ambient light from outside blocked by a filthy, oily film on the structure’s few windows. Darting illumination comes from light reflecting off the water through a splintered hole in the floor. Throughout the warehouse, crates, boxes, and barrels lean against each other in vaguely sorted stacks. A lingering smell indicates some of the contents are certainly spoiled.

Perched in the middle of the hole, teetering on split planks, sits a large crate stamped with three crows arranged in a triangle—the very crate the group has come to find. Handholds cut into the stout wooden crate ring the rim. Other barrels, boxes, and crates sit stacked along the walls of the warehouse. Just inside the door sits a handful of crates and kegs of beer. Most of these smaller crates and barrels contain foodstuffs in various states of freshness. Some crates reek of rot. Stacks of simple coffins sit against the east wall. The rest of the crates stacked along the north and south walls contain simple sundries including, but not limited to beer, blocks of clay, coffee, coils of rope, dried fish, lead ingots, nails, nets, raw cotton, rough wool, spare sails, timber planks, various pulleys and tools, and cheap weapons.

Arjunta pulls his bullseye lantern, making sure it is closed to the narrowest beam before filling and lighting it with flint and steel.

Once lit, he plays the beam across the warehouse, trying to better see how the party may remove the crate clandestinely.

Well, so far, so good, Zoltan looked across the room to the door of the pelican. With a quick look to ensure the crate was in no immediate danger of falling, the gladiator strides across the room and opens the door to the exterior.

Shinkeer you notice the crate you are looking for perched precariously on the edge over top of the huge ledge the warriors surely climbed up. On the other side of the hole is a grappling hook leading down to a boat.

@DM: By "any generic gear you may need", do you mean any nonpmagical gear under a certain value? If so, what's the gp limit?

Brother Felinros looks around the room with a raised eyebrow. "Plenty of junk, but there is only one crate we are after. Maybe we rig up some of these ropes and wooden planks to pull it safely away from that hole?"

Not having any real idea how to do that, the good brother becomes distracted by the casks of beer and goes to examine them to see if the brew looks to be any good.

@DM: How big is the crate? Does it appear that Arjunta and Zoltan could simply get on both sides of it with firm footing and lift it?

Zoltan had initiated rummaging through random items, but became distracted when Brother Felinros began examining the alcohol. Hey padre, anything good over there. I'm feelin' a bit parched. The gladiator spared a glance over his shoulder at the wizards inspecting the crate. Me and the Shoanti can get that thing in a minute, don't you worry.

"We have plenty of rope. Planks. Rolling objects. Let us fashion a pair or more of anchor lines, loop them over the crate, and secure to the far walls. If the rafters are strong, a weight dropped down the hole while tied to a rope and secured to the crate should lift it off the ground. A counter weight lift system, I believe it is called. Granaries and farmers use them to hoist heavy objects, as do butchers and hunters. "

As he speaks, Arjunta starts collecting rope coils, dowels, and heavy planks from the warehouse.

Zoltan threw back a few large mugs of ale that Brother Felinros had procurred from the cask. Ahhh...Cayden Cailean's blessing is a good one! The gladiator then spent a moment watching Arjunta looking around the room with a puzzled expression, then shrugged and turned to the Caydenite priest. Well, time for me to go to work. Zoltan then walks over to the crate and will attempt to pull it back from the ledge onto safer ground to open.

Maybe an Acrobatics check for "agile feet"? 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

EDIT: Drinking before Acrobatics...not recommended.
