Edit: truth time, I have played books 2&3 of RotRL. I know basically about the magma mar stuff and some of the stuff directly after that, through the fort. I don't really know anything about the start or end though.

Book 1; burnt offerings is (IMO) one of the best overall published adventures I have played in of itself. It vaguely connects to the overall plot of RotRL, yet it really can stand as its own thing (not even including its continuing NPC value!)

well i sure do hope so.

i have just been recently involved with pathfinder about 2-3 month, as long time friends that i game with during Living greyhawk dragged me in a PFs game.

so i'm slowly getting the story of Golarion...

this is my first AP tough along with a Jade Regent AP that just started a day or two ago...

but i'd also like to play Reign of Winter.2nd darkness and Shattered star as they seem to be heavy on the history material than the other AP

I will say again and again... The pathfinder setting I fantastic. Is it important to know the lore: maybe not, but is it worth it?: hell yeah!

Golarion has a really rich mythos, and if no no other reason, it is very interesting

I am also a somewhat new pathfinder convert (a year or so) and most of my experience before that was third edition ( and a lot of white wolf games :p)

I fell in love with pathfinder right away...

Whew, back again. Ended up failing a save vs ingested poison over the weekend and was rather incapacitated.

Oh man, bringing back the nostalgia in here. I first got into RPGs with a bunch of white wolf games almost ten years ago, and my first DnD games were actually a year or two of Living Greyhawk. Naturally we were in Bandit Kingdoms, talk about a hard run. We lost 7 clerics in a single month one time...

I played a bit of 3.5 before 4.0 came out. I've played a lot of that up to now. I recently bought Pathfinder and I'm loving it.
While we wait for the fighter, I could try to flesh out my character some more. Are there any resources I could use to learn more about Golarion, preferably free?

Ah ok, thought as much.

In that case, you may have forgotten the racial traits Celestial Tracker and Planetar's Visions that Angelkin get.

I noticed your Spellcraft and Concentraion modifiers seem to be too high. They should be +4 unless im missing something (likely)

CMD should be 16.

I may have mentioned this earlier, but I know I can get fairly obnoxious with pointing out errors, but when I find them I kinda OCD a bit and I cant help myself.

Dexter, there is a book called gnomes of golarion that I'm sure you could find "a free" version of on the inter webs.

Beyond such "acquiring", I would just give the pathfinder wiki a read over in the setting page, or honestly just read that core book cover to cover, there's a lot of info in there.

...Continuing my correction spree.

Dexter:

- Your attacks with longsword shold be +1 from Small size.

- Your CMB and CMD should both be one lower from Small size.

- Your bluff should be +8

- Perform needs to specify a type like Singing, String instrument or something like that.

- This one is just my personal preference so disregard if you disagree, but I find it helpful to write situational modifiers after the skill, like Perform +11 with masterworked Mandola, or Intimidate +6 vs larger people.

Darlin:

- Dwarves only treat Dwarven War Axes as Martial Weapons, they do not gain automatic proficiency.

- Your CMB should be +0

- Perception should be +5 (It is not a class skill)

- Dagger is 1d4 damage and should probably read "Thrown dagger"

I extend the same apology to the two of you, that I did to Arthur.

Haha, no offense taken whatsoever. I tweaked the character several times and with the ability/archetype changes, I'm not surprised a couple of small things slipped through the cracks. Thanks for the catch. I'll adjust the stat blocks.

Quick review as i am off to bed Ferdin:

you are missing 2 traits (may i suggest Shield of society => +1 AC)

and Cleave is a rather meh feet. usually enemies aren't standing side by side.

Dodge could be nice (cause along wit the trait you would gain +2ac)

- Either you are still running a 20 point build or you havnt added your racial +2 to a stat yet.

- A minor thing, but the sidebar stats and the spreadsheet stats arent the same.

- Since you have Scalemail, im thinking you dont know we get 500 gold to buy starting gear? Or it could just be for flavour, in which case, disregard completely.

- AC should be 19, you have the dex bonus listed as only +1

- Same with initiative, should be +2

- Knowledge skills should be +5 with the current int.

- No traits?

- Longsword should be at +5 to hit and 1d8 +3 damage, crossbow should be +3 to hit.

- You list a dagger at -3 to hit under the Full attack Longsword. If this is dual weilding, the sword would suffer penalties as well.

- CMB should be +4, CMD 16

The travel was weird - was in northern Vermont, near Canadian border. Must have been a dead spot, could not get a connection to the internet, so was unable to get on this site (they still have dial-up connections up there!)

Anyway, I have gone back over the stats, updated with two traits, and allocated gear, so I hope this is close to not needing much more tweaking.

Hahaha that is funny what we take for granted I guess.

Character sheet looks good at first glance. I would suggest (just from my personal preference) maybe grabbing a two-handed weapon to use as opposed to your shield sometimes, if you need a little extra damage. Maybe a Falchion... or a spear even? Just a thought.

I will stick with the weapon load-out as posted for now. Ferdin pretty much has one interest - close as fast as possible, and smack the baddies as hard as he can. That's why I revised the feats/traits to include faster initiative and higher speed when charging.

I'm thinking of him as very brave, but lacking in the common sense department sometimes... :)

ferdin don't run forward to fast, the dwarf and 1 only go at slower pace because of the heavier armor. No need fo you to rush toward the badies and get surrounded.

and since we have a wizard with a passion for fireball let him trow his stuff first :)

Just out of curiosity, how do you plan on handling combat? Are you going to post a picture of the map and our locations which you update regularly?

I might end up doing that, though for the first encounter I want to see how it goes just doing a theater of the mind style. I have done it with White Wolf games, as have done it on the fly with Pathfinder, so I'm thinking it will work (if not work better) for PbP. I will most likely just sketch up a rough grid for reference, but nothing fancy.

Of course, this is going to require the party to act realistically... for example, not fudging locations etc. If that fails miserably, I will get a drop box set up with maps for you all that I will update.

I bet it will work fine. As long as we have a description, I have no problems imagining the combat and just getting a rough written sketch from the DM. (history of White Wolf games as well)

Im having trouble committing to Thalriks personality at his current Charisma of 7. Would it be alright to lower his Dex and upping Charisma to an 8? In my mind the difference between an 8 and a 7 Charisma is pretty large, even more so than the difference between a 10 and an 8.
