Post Cataclysm Map - For Perspective ONLY

Map of Tarsis. Imagine the crater next to the city being filled with water. That entire stretch of land is all port. In addition, the wall running out into the water is also a man made port and the wall is a combination of wall and dock. The elven ship is at the very end.

Another Tarsis Map The Cathedral to Branchala is just to the northeast of the Central Plaza. It is not represented on the map but I wanted to give the group a sense for the city.

House Rules for Hero Points:

Hero Point Mechanics:

1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,

2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,

3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,

4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,

Progression system:
Level 1-10 1d6,
Level 11-20 2d6,
Level 21-?? 3d6. and

5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Optional rules mostly in the form of New Feats for Hero Points:

Arcane Surge (Prerequisites - Arcane Class) (Allows wielder to increase a spell DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point),

Attune Item (Prerequisites - A Weapon of Legacy) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +3 to attack and damage for the scene with chosen item),

Defensive Ward (Prerequisites - Dodge) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to give yourself a +3 Luck bonus to AC for the scene),

Divine Surge (Prerequisites - Divine Class) (Allows wielder to increase a spell DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point),

Heroic Feat (Prerequisites - None) (Any saving throw successfully made 10 points above an effects DC automatically allows the character to regain 1 used Hero Point),

Heroic Grace (Prerequisite - None) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +1 to all saving throws or +3 to one saving throw for one scene),

Heroic Quickness (Prerequisites - Improved Initiative) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +3 to Initiative checks),

Manifesting Surge (Prerequisites - Psionic Class) (Allows wielder to increase a powers save DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point).

I was thinking perhaps, as wondrous items, but rods does work, if DM approves?

He is a total tinkerer, so trying to stay in that realm.

Sczarni

Dragonlance? So kender, I heard kender. Probably an all kender party full of kender people with their own kender class.

All Kender? Sounds like madness, like running a Vampire the Masquerade game with all Malkavians...

I have very rarely seen kender roleplayed correctly though, most people that I have seen use being a kender as an excuse to just take people's stuff, not remember that kender, well true kender, depending on what Era and continent you play on, don't steal to be mean but because they are nosey.

Once you get the Rod feat sure.

The bonded item can be crafted without need for the feat.

@Terevalis: I'll try my best.

Technically a wizard counts as having the appropriate feat for enchanting his bonded item, be it Forge Ring or Craft Staff or Craft Wand or Craft Rod. Then again the corresponding feat for thieves' tools would be Craft Wondrous Item, not Craft Rod, as they are basically more or less a collection of various springs and tiny metal prongs and stuff like that.

If they do count as wondrous items (which sounds pretty reasonable to me) you could probably enchant them into something like the following...

Trapspringer's gloves

Vest of escape

Considering the name of the former it would make things quite amusing if there is a kender in the party (Dragonlance Law states every adventuring party must have a kender). ;-P

Ok. I think that he is done.

Either wondrous or rod is cool with me; when at the appropriate level, of course.

I just liked the flavor.

If I missed something, please let me know.

Thank you.

Here's another option that might be worth considering as well. [url=http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/rogue/archetypes/paizo---rogue-archetypes/scavenger-rogue-archetype[/url]

I don't see a reason why the gnome could not ATTEMPT the Test of High Sorcery.

Theo is the greatest Wizard in Krynn...eventually...lol.

Taking the Test could be part of his life quest.

The first gnome ever, lol.

NOT taking the Test could be the end of his Life... Quest. ;-)

I see what you did there, F Castor...

I attempted to take spells that are not flashy, so that his Wizardness can be downplayed, if needed; although, he is not socially comfortable. He has been too busy with his studies and tinkering to be social; plus this may be his first foray out of Mt. Nevermind...

His life quest could be to become the greatest wizard on Krynn. Meanwhile my lass will be busy drawing all the interesting things and people she comes across...

"You know what I'm going to do?" The colorful cute little girl that comes up to you as she twirls around herself. "I'm gonna find all the pretty things in the world. And I'm gonna draw them." She gets out a piece of parchment and a piece of colored something and starts drawing. "I'm gonna draw you too. Maybe one day you'll be something great, and I wouldn't have wanted to pass up the opportunity to draw someone great, now would I?"

Really, little Rin is just looking to see the world, take pictures and have fun doing so. With her on her trip, she has her sharp mind and limber body. Hopefully her dance can get her both in and out of places as necessary, while her sharp wit can trick or taunt her enemies to keep her safe from harm.

Is Gambit still going to submit?

Thank you for the list, F. Castor.

Always does makes things easier.

All the items I want are so expensive :/. Only got 280 to spend.
Masterwork Studded Leather 175 (Alternative Studded Leather at 25)
Heavy Darkwood Shield 257 (alternative Darkwood Buckler at 205 or none)
Masterwork Thieves Tools 100 (alternative Thieves tools 25)
Various Alchemical items: (Clear Ear (15GP each), Acid (10), Alchemist's Fire (20), Vermin Repellent (5), Antitoxi/antiplague (50 each))
Weapons: (Saps, Rapier, dagger, Whippik?)

What's the reach of a Whippik? The text says 5 feet, but that doesn't make much sense if it provokes AoO from attacking like a whip does.

Only 280?....lol.

Dimernesti, but he is unaware of this fact.

He was orphaned and spent his childhood enslaved as a cabin boy on a pirate ship until being sold to a priest of Branchala, who heard him singing in a tavern, at the age of 12.

Interesting. I like the premise.

This is a tough choice without any further submissions!

Zsar Kizar wrote:

Rin claps her hands and twirl around herself. "That's so great, that i got to greatly greet someone great on this great day. What's this about balance though? Do you mean like this? Rin is great at balance." She swings one leg up in the air, so she ends up in a split, just with one leg on the ground and the other pointing straight up. She then starts drawing, her sketching materials still in hand. "I'll draw you ok, Mr...? Uh, what and who are you?"

@Astinus the Chronicler: Did you see my question about the Whippik, the Kender-specific weapon? Does it provoke? Does it have 5 or 10 foot reach? Maybe the text means it gives you 5' extra reach?

5' reach does not provoke :-)

Well, I just had 3 more games get dropped; due to either (or both) GM or player inactivity. Bummer.
I haven't gamed in DL, since 2.0, so looking forward to this chance.

As a DM, I understand the amount of good submissions for these PbP games. I would just make sure that your choices can commit to it...

I have seen many games start strong, but players and GMs seem to fade before 2nd level...

Life does happen, but it seems to happen tenfold on these boards...lol.

Good luck all. And thanks Astinus (always thought he was suave).

Nine days till all submission need to be finalized.

Agreed, I have had a lot of PbP's go bye bye as a player. However, I have a strong track record here on the boards as a DM so no worries about this game going away on my end. My Vampire game has 9,000 posts and has been around since 2012. My Cthulhu game has survived 13 player drops and is still chugging along. Not to mention the other 10 games I run here :-)

The jedi game will not be mentioned... :)

Fingers crossed I get chosen. Hehe at least I'm the only Minotaur in the game. And a newbie to the boards. I'm playing in two other games and I post at least once a day. If not more.

Sczarni

I will not be submitting a character for this adventure, as I have been accepted in a few active games recently.

All my games are dieing and I'm not getting accepted to any others, I've been with this sence we started this thread so... Hopefully as the only one here capable of healing spells I'll be let on.

Uh, cleric of Mishakel... goddess of healing....

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti wrote:

What Jedi game? :-)

LOL, I think one character had like 4 players?

Divine Bard of Branchala...back up healer with sweet dance moves ;)

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti wrote:

That's a real exaggeration. Though two characters did have 3 separate players... :-)

But do you dance sweeter than Rin? She's dancing so sweet that enemies refuse to hit her (ok, she's probably dancing to avoid the blows, but it works out about the same). Surprised to not see you put a rank into perform dance with that intro.

What is Divine Strike that you list on your sheet? I can't find the source for that. Nor Divine duelist for that matter. Is it just arcane duelist/strike replaced by divine? I thought divine spontaneous casters didn't work either?

oyzar wrote:

Correct. He doesn't really dance. He sings and plays the mandolin. I was just joking. Hopefully, he will provide music for Rin's dancing!

He is not spontaneous. He has to prepare spells ahead of time.

He can dance if he wants to
He can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well, they're no friends of his
Say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come
From out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance
Or sing

iirc the rapier is Branchala's favored weapon.

I always found him to be a neat god.

One real oddity is that inspire courage would not normally apply to dance checks. It really should :/.

Branchala and Mishakel are two of Rin's most favorite gods and goddesses! What a happy coincidence.

@Zsar: I assume you're a worshipper of Chislev? That makes three out of four of the most revered Kender deities. Though I guess Gilean could also fit with his neutrality.

Would you eventually allow this feat, if chosen?

Augment Healing

( Complete Divine, p. 79)

[General]

Your Conjuration [Healing] spells are more effective.
Prerequisite
Heal 4 ranks,
Benefit
Add +2 points per spell level to the amount of damage healed by any Conjuration [Healing] spell that you cast. For example, a 1st-level cleric with this feat casting cure light wounds would restore 1d8+3 hp. An 8th-level cleric with the Healing domain and this feat casting cure moderate wounds would restore 2d8+13 hp (9 for his caster level including the +1 caster level bonus for the Healing domain, + 4 for the feat). A 13th-level druid casting heal would restore 144 hp (130 for her caster level + 14 for the feat, since heal is a 7th-level druid spell).

I like that feat. It allows healing in combat viable.

I have always thought that channels should also have a static bonus, as well as, the die. Maybe add +1/2 caster level or something.

Is there anyway to add dice, even like a +1 or so, to a channel?
