About Theodore Samuel Walden ...A Promise is Birthed....:
The languishing creaking of each rotting floor board crawls and creeps down his arched spine. The intense incense not invited evades his rapidly working nostrils. The silent sights of thick cob webbing create the sense of suffocation. The calloused rope bindings constrict. Theodore Samuel Walden Carter is an aspiring exorcist. Having grown up in Ustalav there seemed to be a need. Having come from an Arcane family, Theodore seemed also to be destined for wizardry. Unfortunately, the eldest sibling failed out of University. His attention distracted from precise magical formula by the things that went bump in the night. Theodore decided that by truly embracing the source of Death, he could develop the necessary tools to hunt those dark things. Theodore became a cleric of Pharasma. While not doing well at University, he did make the acquaintance of Professor Lorrimor, who helped mentor the determined ex student. Theodore's blurred blue eyes slink about his current surroundings. Unfortunately, the thick, uncomfortable darkness allows only a few spare feet of distance prior to hungrily enveloping his view. Shuffling uncomfortably to his feet, Theodore immediately bangs his head on the low ceiling. Crouching his 6' frame, he slides a foot forward into the darkness.... Being tutored by Professor Lorrimor had its privileges. The accessibility of those places of study and learning allowed the Cleric of Pharasma to research those things that hold Ustalav hostage. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts and ghouls, and especially hauntings. The books, scrolls, letters loaning themselves to discovery. After years of learning from the Professor, listening to his lectures, assisting on his expeditions, witnessing extraordinary evidence of elective ectoplasmic entities, Theodore ventured forth to begin his Roaming Exorcist profession..... Step. Step. Step. Theodore further advances his precarious position. Blindly navigating the narrow space provided, he quickly finds that the parameters of his personal space extended only those 3 steps. It appears that he finds himself inside a box. Sighing as he struggles to loosen his restraints, Theodore studiously makes Strides in that endeavor. Absently rubbing his formerly bond wrists, the Cleric begins to meditate on his current situation. He heard rumors of a especially tricky manifestation and he found the site.... ....feeling the desperation, the despair beginning to creep and crawl into the crate, Theodore calmly reaches into his pocket, producing an iron holy symbol of Pharasma!
Suddenly the white glow of positive energy surrounds the trapped Cleric, extending outward to blast away at the hungry haunt! Quiet peace is the only sound that emerges from the recent episode. Opening his eyes fully, Theodore sees that his circumstances returned to normal. No crate. No webbing. No darkness. Nothing else but the simple plain barn, belonging to the Francisco family.
Calmly (and a bit satisfied), Theodore picks up his coat from the barn straw-strewn floor. Brushing off the offending straw, a sealed letter escapes from his pocket. Curiously picking it up, the Exorcist turns it over to read the information on the front.

Source Carrion Crown Player's Guide pg. 12 At some point in the past, Professor Lorrimor did you a favor under the condition that he would someday call on you to repay it. After he came to your aid, however, you never saw nor heard from him again, leaving you with a sense of unending anticipation that each day might be the day you were asked to return the favor. Yet that day never came, and your fears and anxiety about what the professor would call on you to do abated. Assuming the old man had either forgotten about you or died, you eventually assumed you’d never have to follow through on your end of the bargain. When you received word of the professor’s death, and that he had named you specifically in his will, your dread of what he could possibly want from you has grown throughout your entire journey to Ravengro. Years of living with the fear and uncertainty of the unclaimed debt to Professor Lorrimor have inured you to extreme anxiety. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saves against fear effects.
