Dwalindor's jaw drops at the mention of the size of the donation.
"How much? Wow, that is very generous of you. I will be sure to visit the next time I am up river. Heck, it almost makes me want to consider starting my own chapel to Gorum myself.

Rameth the Delver |

Dwalindor, go ahead and mark down that you have a cloak of esis+1 since we seem to have lost our other players for the moment. Rameth is holding out till stuff is worth money, and e aren't going to get gouged. If someone wants their cut of the current loot let me know, and I will do the math for you.
Rameth nods at the generosity of these two, and at their wealth. He gets the details of the location and agrees to come visit, he seems to like these two, despite himself.
Lets go report to the Mausoleeum and visit Mesodram see if he needs help, a good ally in him would be good.

I thought it was funny!

Rameth the Delver |

it was.

![]() |

i was working my taxes yesterday so could not resist.

DMummy |

As you trundle through the streets towards the Grand Mausoleum you see a nice clear sky.
Roll Perception: DC 10
You hear a unseasonable boom of thunder ahead. Make a DC 14 Will save.
Pretty nice day for a city mobbed by the unquiet dead.
The sound is not real. You should investigate! Make a knowledge (arcana) DC 20 check.
You realize that the sound is from a ghost sound cantrip.

Rameth the Delver |

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 percep
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 will
Rameth looks about for the thunder cloud

Calin Tinderfoot |

perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
"That wasn't a real thunderclap. We should probably go see what it is."
"I'd put money down that this is going to involve some more shamblies."
Calin pulls out his bow and positions himself better in Tobbs' saddle to make sure he can clearly shoot.

Rameth the Delver |

how can we determine which direction it came from DM?

DMummy |

D'oh, needed to think five steps ahead instead of four.
Calin, roll Survival DC 10 - if you fail, just pick a direction and roll 1d20. If you're between 12-17 you succeed in locating the right direction, otherwise roll another Perception check.
Albus, Calin is clearly nuts - there wasn't any thunderclap and the sky's perfectly clear.

Dwalindor keeps walking...
"Why is everyone looking up at the sky? . "

DMummy |

As you move down the street you see a group of angry locals surrounding a half-elven woman who's clearly been crying.
Although you don't know why, you see that the half-elf is leading a zombie that's she's tied up securely with a rope. The crowd has been pelting the woman and zombie with rotten food, and the mood looks ugly.

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth sighs.
Man we sure know how to find it...

DMummy |

The woman can't hear you over the screaming crowd.
Kill her! Kill her and her zombie! She brought this on us!
Death to necromancers!
Get out of Wati you b~*%+!
More fruit and vegetables fly. The crowd appears to believe the woman is the source of the necromantic magicks that have animated dead all over the city.
Roll Diplomacy DC 15 or Intimidate DC 20 to calm or cow the crowd enough to get more information.

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

Now, now... We are the Wati City Guard and by the order of the great Ruby Prince Khemet III, may He live forever, all necromancers must be taken to Pharasma's temple for questioning. And maybe a nice bonfire...
The women is coming with us, but you guys can have the zombie if it makes you happy. There are plenty of those around for everybody...

![]() |

Dwalindor resists his urge to just smash the zombie.
"Albus, this looks one of those delicate social situations Rameth keeps tellin' me I ain't well equipped to handle."
Dwalindor keeps Lucy in hand and tries to interpose himself between her and the mob.
"Get back all of you or Lucy will not be happy!"
intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 he makes the meanest looking face he can muster and hopes he does not look like he has a bad case of gas.

DMummy |

Now Albus has made an impression on the crowd.
They part from the angry half-elven Magus like water running around a stone.
Even the half-elf in the center is cringing at the display of aggression.
A florid-faced bald man blots sweat from his forehead with a dirty piece of cloth and protests at Albus.
It wasn't us! She did it, she's the one! Look at her, she's even controlling that zombie!
He points at her.
You can see it was her!
The half-elven woman sobs at Albus.
Leave me and my husband alone! The gods have returned his body to me and soon I'll restore his spirit and he'll return to me.

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth looks at the creature
1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 8 + (3) = 19 religion
1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 8 + (4) = 17 arcana

Rameth the Delver |

What the hell is going on. How did you raise him from the dead? And what possessed you to think you could walk around town with him, considering what is going on.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 SM

DMummy |

I didn't raise him from the dead, the gods did! And neither my husband nor I had anything to do with this incident. My husband, he...died recently. I couldn't, couldn't handle it!
She breaks down crying. You're beginning to think she's unstable.
But after three days the gods, they answered my prayers! They brought Bentu back to me!
She's telling the truth, for her.

Rameth the Delver |

Who are you, and who was he? Why would the gods bring him back, but not anyone else? Make sure you are honest cause no one is going to let this thing live without good reason.

DMummy |

I'm his wife! Sehhosep Naahn, a teacher at the Hall of the Blessed Re=birth! And why shouldn't the gods return my husband to me? I have served them well! And my husband was a good man, good to me and to others.
This last part is almost a wail.
And why wouldn't my husband be raised from the dead! Khemet's Risen Guard is filled with nothing but people who've risen from the grave to defend our pharaoh!

Rameth the Delver |

i assume Rameth knows what she is talking about with those things. Does what she is saying hold water?

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

Albus feels really sad for the women. He puts his blade away but can not find any words that would comfort her. He looks at Rameth hoping his friend can make the whole situation less terrible.

Rameth the Delver |

Listen woman. I know you are scared and you are confused, but stop being daft. The isn Guard are back to life fully. You just put a beast on a leash. Your husband is gone, lets get you to someone who can help you, keep some of its remaining hair and you can try to get it resurrected for real.

DMummy |

She inches back from you and you realize the crowd has moved away as a result of Albus's earlier display.
No, I won't go to one of the temples, they cost a fortune! And I only need a few days to reunite his spirit with his body, you don't understand!
She is starting to panic.
Diplomacy or Bluff would work here too, DC 24

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth glances at his companions hoping someone can deal with this, without him having to knock her out.

![]() |

Dwalindor cannot calm her. Do we still have Audia? She has been very quiet of late

![]() |

Could be a bad computer or internet.

DMummy |

No word, so here we go!
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Whelp, that didn't work.
Since you're down a "man" I'll do this - each one of you can put an impassioned plea about why the sorceress should let her husband go. If one of you passes the "threshold of feels" I'll take it from there - Rameth if you want to count your "don't be daft" speech that works.

Rameth the Delver |

I probably should, but since we all know that wont work, how about I make it worse?
Rameth pulls his flask and takes a hit.
Look Lady. We all know you are hurting, there are thousands of people hurting right now. Everyone has lost someone they care about, hell I just lost my closest friend not more than 3 weeks ago. back to the killed cleric, but we gotta move on. It took a creepy haunted spell caster to seek me out before I was able to let my friend go. Most of us don't get that kind of message. Your husband is gone, maybe you should try to honor his memory, do something in his name or whatever. I did not know him but I can promise he did not want to end up like this.
imagine that being said almost jerkishly. Cause well, you know-Rameth

Rameth the Delver |

what you didnt like mine?

![]() |

"Listen lady. All my life I was living underground in harsh desert conditions with barely enough to eat and never knowing when the next dust storm or purple worm was going to eat you for lunch. The last thing my folks said to me before they died in a raid with lizard folk...they says 'Dwaly, list up you worthless....' ok forget that part...'listen, if it don't kill ya, it makes you stronger!' "
The wise and crabby sage-dwarf continues...
"So suck it up, get over him and move on with your life woman. You cannot hang onto the past."
