1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 8 + (3) = 25 religion on the skeleton to know dr and special abilities etc

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

As the "judge" starts to lose his temper Albus joins the proceedings.
By the way, y' honor, this is Wati and here the dead stay below the ground, most of the time anyway... You have NO legal authorithy among the living whatsoever.
K. Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Could use some of those rotten vegetables from before right now. It would make this feels more like the real deal.

DMummy |

The judge appears to be a bloody skeleton, resistant to all damage done without a blunt instrument and any sort of cold.
The skeleton has a clacking laugh.
Look around at my courtroom! I have all the authority I need, given to me by the very gods.
He points at you again.
I have authority because when this city was overrun with criminals, grave robbers, perverts who destroyed the good order ordained by the gods. And I stood against them! I am the greatest judge this city has ever known, Sotenre!
He throws his arms wide, spreading blood all over the room.
I saw the perversion they made of justice. I saw what they were doing to this city, my city! Be grateful, thank Sotenre! For in my return, I return this city to righteousness!
Perform (Oratory): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Dwalindor does not know whether to laugh at the judge or introduce him to Lucy. He ponders a bit longer to see what Rameth has in mind.

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth is immediately confident again, his fear is no more.

Rameth the Delver |

1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 8 + (3) = 25 religion
But it is a well established theory that Sotenre is he judge premier of ______ a precursor of ______, who is related to _______, and said in the holy book of _______, that Nethys and Pharasma have from the date of ______ full authority over the rulership of Wati until such time that a council of clerics returns it to the former rulership.

Rameth the Delver |

DMummy |

Religion isn't a permitted roll here - You can choose from Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Knowledge (local), Perform (oratory), or Sense Motive. I'll let you roll again with another skill?
You show your ignorance outlander! Religion may be invoked, but religious texts have no place in a court of law in Osirion!
He folds his arms.
Now, you have failed to enter a plea, and have mocked the court. You have only so many minutes for defense! Plea, and be done with it or I shall sentence you to enuculeation!

Rameth the Delver |

1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 8 + (4) = 21 local
it has nothing to do with religion, this is local laws. Don't be foolish. We have no need to enter a plea because you have not established the validity for the necessity of such a thing.

Rameth the Delver |

I am parched. Rameth downs his bull strength

DMummy |

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
No, I don't...but you...what is...happen-
You can actually see negative energy start to swirl around the skeleton bailiffs and the judge, as whatever preverse principle controls them breaks down.
No! My justice is needed! These foolish living creatures have transgressed!
Suddenly a massive devil appears in the halls.
Sotenre, you naughty boy. I was wondering where my favorite lawyer went and to find you back on the Material Realm without my permission, most upsetting.
He chuckles as the bloody skeleton wails in terror - no longer a powerful jurist but a quivering coward in the face of the devil.
Time to go home, it just isn't the same without you!
Shadowy hands reach up and grasp the bloody skeleton and seem to drag him through the ground in front of your shocked eyes. His shriek is suddenly not that of an undead abomination but a terrified child being dragged to just punishment. His bailiffs crumble to dust when he disappears.
The devil chuckles at the sound.
Mortals. He turns to you and gives a polite bow.
My deepest apologies, I never would have let Sotenre loose on my own. Please pass on my regrets to Azghaad, he gets SO touchy about intrusions on his land.
Then in a puff of fragrant incense the devil vanishes.
You can hear nothing in the court except the moaning of the man whose mutilation you interrupted and the ringing of a metal circlet Sotenre was wearing on the ground behind his podium.

Rameth the Delver |

[ooc]knowledge for who azghaad is?[/o]
Any one want to explain to me what just happened? . Rameth moves to the man who was about to lose his eye.
Calin wanna see if you can help this fellow?
Then to the man What's your name friend. What happened?

DMummy |

Knowledge (History) DC 5
The man gasps, needing serious medical help.
I am...Zezemonekh. I am a simple merchant who was trying to get home to my family - I was in my shop late when the dead rose. Sadly I passed by here and was seized by those skeletons for that madman's "judgement."
Azghaad is the legendary first pharaoh of Osirion. He founded the first human empire during the Age of Destiny after Earthfall through sheer power of his will and magic and is rumored to have been buried in a giant pyramid of solid gold: the capstone of which is on an obelisk in Sothis.
Everyone seems to agree he's dead however.

Rameth the Delver |

Interestign, that devil was referencing the first empereror or Pharaoh. Lets get you some help Zez.

Rameth the Delver |

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Rameth uses a wand on him to try to stop some of the bleeding.
Rameth will take 10 on heal fora 12 to assist Calin
While they work. Did the skeleton tell you anything about why he was putting you "on trial"

Rameth the Delver |

I do, but I want to make sure we get this guy stable first. want me to jump ahead to that? Assuming Calin takes 10 that is a20 heal plus the HP healing

Rameth the Delver |

As soon as Rameth finishes with the wand, and getting the water hot...you always need hot water, he moves and examines the circlet.

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

Nice to know that the good judge went to hell after his term of "service" in Wati was over the first time. Somebody disagreed with his idea of justice afterall. Albus says getting up and searching the room.
Take 20 for 26 in perception

Calin Tinderfoot |

Sure I'll take 10 on the heal check, that does give me a 20 on the heal.
"I think I should be able to patch you up a bit. You've lost the eye but at least you won't end up like those outside. And with the right eye patch the ladies might think you look dashing!"
"Forgive me for not having faith in your oratory Rameth. Watching that thing get dragged back to hell is probably one of the most satisfying things I will ever see."

Rameth the Delver |

Well if you didn't have faith that makes 2 of us!. He shrugs. I tend to rely on logic and when that doesn't work we send in Lindy on the hop and try not to get spattered. Though the kitty cat of your is pretty terrifying on its own!

DMummy |

Albus, you don't find anything worth additional money - just detritus from court proceedings and Sotenre's gavel.
Rameth, the circlet is finely wrought, a delicately engraved silver headband.
The item is magical. Use Identify to determine its properties.
Having fulfilled your duty, you can return to the Grand Mausoleum.

Rameth the Delver |

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Rameth takes a minute and mixes up an identify extract
Well watta ya know? This is a ______.
They escort the man back to the Mausoleum for more care and so he can tell his story

![]() |

"Well that took a turn i wernt expecting. Rameth, you may have a future with the bar exam...and i ant just talking about drinking ."

Calin Tinderfoot |

On their way out Calin scoops up Sotenre's gavel on a whim, and tucks it into his belt.
"This is one heck of a souvenir, can't leave it behind. Besides it's probably got some historical value."

DMummy |

As you turn towards the temple in the afternoon, you come to an intersection where three zombies surrounding a woman. As they turn to attack her however you hear an unholy screech and two terrible amalgams of crocodile and bear lurch out of an alley and tear the zombies apart.
Worse, they knock the poor woman on the ground and you can see she's bleeding. The monsters begin feasting on the zombies and when people try and advance to help the woman bleeding on the ground the monsters snarl at them until they back off.
Depending on how you want to try and proceed will determine initiative, if you decide to attack I'll roll initiative before your actions take effect.
