I'm looking forward to seeing Thirzin develop more. If he's half as fun to play with as Diabolito, this is going to be great.
Aramis is great as a Captain. Diabolito would never be anyone's sane choice for captain. I'll have to get back into Thirzin. I'll say this, though: if you want to see my two best characters, look at my sawbones Zirul and my inquisitor Ignatius Hank.
I think Noro would make a great Captain...she is in Choon's Skull and Shackles game.
My inquisitor is on his way, I think, to being Captain. I mean, it doesn't hurt that he's an Inquisitor of Besmara, and has the Birthmark trait. :)
He actually intimidated Plugg repeatedly (and all the characters are still level 1) and has gained an officer position by scaring Magpie into giving away the location of ALL the items he stole.
hehe A +13 to Intimidate at level 1 is VERY useful.
Heheh, you certainly know how to make some good characters. Pretty much the most badass thing any of mine have done was Aramis confirming a musket crit on Plugg and killing him in one shot...
That was an amazing thing. Even Diabolito was like "....well, damn. That made things easy."
Zirul was fun. A lot of fun. BUT he was introduced later in the game, and he had so many bad puns. Lots of doctor puns.
My characters don't get a lot of opportunity to be badass. That crit was probably as good as it's going to get for a while. ^^'

Hey, here's a totally random thing I just realized that has absolutely no bearing on anything: Horatio's actually the tallest member of the party. It clicked when Asuriel mentioned being almost as tall as Olivius, so I checked the heights out of curiosity, and yeah. Horatio's taller than Olivius, making him the most vertically-gifted member of the party. Another reason he should be leader! :P

Horatio is only slightly more than inch taller, I'm sure I could find a fantabulous platform boot that would push Asuriel over the edge without being over the top. :D

So, I ran my Kingmaker game tonight. Turns out five 1st-level PCs can't really take on a will-o-wisp... I gave them no less than five opportunities to run after identifying it, and nope. They tried talking to it instead. *facepalm*
They survived. But only after their fighter went down and they decided to run like hell...
Noro - You absolutely demolished him. Mental note to befriend the Tian after the Wizard.
Horatio - When the GM asks if you want to run, the answer is usually yes :)
Salsa - I heard that AL was going to get absolutely pummeled by storms today, stay safe!
"Are you sure?" is GM-speak for "Would you like to roll up a new character now, or would you first like me to describe what happens next in excruciating, gory detail?" Funny, they usually take the hint.
I guess it depends on the players. Some players are so caught up in believing that they are invincible, do not take the hint. Let's take one of my groups running this very adventure.
"Are you SURE you want to do that?"
"We are out of Hero Points, half health or below and nearly have exhausted all possible spells, what could go possibly wrong? We're doing it!"
