Asuriel, on the other hand, just walked up to Pavanna, when she was in ‘soldier mode’ (which is distinctly focused and impatient to start with), and assumed she had the right to expect, nay demand, that Pavanna snap right to and fulfill her every whim simply because of who Asuriel is, despite her not having any sort of rank or authority Pavanna knows or recognises. Right now, everything about her screams “I think I am better than you, and that gives me the right to ignore your training and your tactical situation, and to override your judgment, so I can tell you what to do while lives hang in the balance.” And she hasn’t shown a single thing to prove she has any such authority or right. >:(
Horatio’s a little self-important, but he’s not entitled, like Asuriel appears to be. More to the point, he clearly respects Pavanna as a friend and trying to trust her as a comrade... whereas Asuriel hasn’t shown a hint of either thus far. >:(
Besides, she’s far too reminiscent of the Wiscrani noblewomen Pavanna remembers from her youth, who were some of the worst examples of self-important alpha-b~&*~dom on Golarion.

@ Akisame: perhaps, but French is relatively straight-forward to learn; most people in a fantasy world featuring elves (including virtually every elf ever) insist that, like non-native speakers of Polish, you just can’t master speaking Elven with the proper accents and emphasis unless you started learning it in the cradle. ;D
I love it when I make a joke and you take the opportunity to discuss it a length. That's not sarcasm, by the way; I really do like it. Gives me a lot of insight into Pavanna's character - which I can then play off in our ever-complicated dynamic. ;-)
As an aspie, I can miss a lot of social cues and such. It's a bit easier in this format than in real life, but having things spelled out from time to time helps!
And Olivius is like. "Huh? What are you doing getting between a hammer and its nail? You want to do what now? Wait, you're Pavanna's problem right now." Then he files it away for later and focuses on the beat down at hand.
And, might I say, Horatio got good ol' fashioned Scolding when he broke ranks in our first fight, Asuriel, so don't feel like we're singling out the new guy. :)

Ah Pavanna, fast friends we shall be! Sarenrae teaches the virtue of patience, but Asuriel struggles with it. Under nominal situations she would most likely be a little more personable, however in combat and speaking with a brash tiefling isn't going to go over well with her. Especially when she is trying to tell her what she should be doing.

Hey, if she had been broached prior chaos ensuing and told there would be a group heading north and she should hold the line as instructed, she would have fallen in line without questions. Probably.

It’s fairly typical right now. As I type, I’m half-watching a CSI/CSI:NY double-feature that I taped while I was at work earlier tonight. I did try playing a little MechWarrior Online earlier, but it crashed in the middle of the third match (just as I made my second kill, no less >:(), so I figured I’d let it calm down before I tried it again.

Ugh, technology can be so temperamental... Yeah, now that game is over, I'm just reading my new PDFs, watching my boyfriend and his brother play Tom Clancy video games, and brainstorming characters. I think I'll be trying my arcane duelist on Wednesday, which should be interesting.
I'm also finally able to eat my Easter chocolate. Losing wisdom teeth blows.
Edit: it's just under three hours to Sunday where I am. Also, I now kind of want to draw Pavanna and Horatio as the Doctor and his companion. Pavanna would look cute as David Tennant.

I remember getting all four wisdom teeth extracted, my face blew up and I had cheeks like a squirrel with a mouth full of nuts for a few days. I don't get Easter chocolate anymore, but, I do get to buy it for my children and then eat theirs! :D
I'm not familiar enough with Doctor Who to make a judgement, but there are a few similarities to Harkness, after my brief Wikipedia browsing. :p I keep meaning to actually watch the damn show... At least I finally got around to Firefly!
Yeah, I had a total of eight extractions in preparation for braces. My cheeks have only just gone down after ten days. Not being able to suck on a chocolate frog has been torture. Milkshakes are insufficient for chocolatey goodness!

EIGHT! YIKES! I had braces for five years, it was very traumatic for me, I do not look kindly on those years.
The whole reason for the braces is because I had crowding in my lower jaw. Specifically, my canines had been pushed in front of my other teeth, and the premolars had moved in to where they should have been. I couldn't clean my teeth properly, so rather than have them fall out eventually, I opted to have them ripped out and everything else straightened up.
So they had to remove my lower canines, which were the crowded ones, and my upper premolars to even things out. The wisdoms had to come out before they could work on my molars, so I chose to have all eight done at once under a general anesthetic. Recovery was a pain, but now my stitches have almost entirely dissolved. Coincidentally, I marathoned Firefly once I was coherent. Jayne is my favorite forever.
So now you will understand what I mean when I say that ‘civilian’ Pavanna has a good dose of Kaylee about her, while ‘soldier’ Pavanna and Zoe would be two peas in a pod. ;)
