Hafshi dodges attacks from Haku and Leonides. With allies blocking a clear line of attack both Sark and Pascal's attacks miss as well. Meanwhile the Ugly Stranger reloads his gun. When Alden moves in towards her flank she slams her mace into him. 7 damage to Alden She grins and taunts Alden in the devil's tongue. "Nash ghol kurrv na dor vol! Ka nash rhush k'hol ghol dor Moloch's thak!"
She then calls upon her magic and points at Leonides. "Flee before the wrath of Moloch!" Leonides almost loses his composure and obeys, but asserts his will and resists the cultists spell.

Alden accepts the hit and Grins.
Swinging his flail with deadly intent, Alden attempts to keep her talking.

Watching over his shoulder at these shades, he exams the statue and tries to determine if he can twist it so the lava flow would hit the women coming from its two mouths.
Which action does it take to do the following Move? Std?

Leonides shakes his head, smiling. "No." He changes to a judgment that increases his accuracy and swings again.
Attack, incl. judgment of justice: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18
Damage, in case that hits: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

could i use something to redirect the flow something like a shield? Wont last long but many long enough to burn her to bits. So there is no way to turn the mouth so the flow changes directions? Does it look like it can be taken off the alter?

Sark drops his bow, grabs the idol and tries to turn it so the lava flow connects with the women we are fighting. He shouts to his friends "Watch out, here comes a lava wave...."

Alden prepares himself for the something hot.

![]() |

i know its not splashing out, but its flowing creating the lava rivers, so by moving the statue the flow would change from where it is now to a new course. So looking at how it flows now(its facing forward yes?, Sark moves it to the face the north wall(if that is the direction he feels will move the flow to hit her) redirecting the direction it is dripping down to make a new path for the lava river over her. If it looks like the lava will hit one of his friends he moves it back or another direction until he can see the flow moving where he wants it. I assume its a move action to twist the idol each time, so i can try to twist it twice a round to see if i can get it to move where i want it to. Is that possible or not?

Hafshi dodges an attack from Alden but takes a slash from Leonides and a bullet from Ugly. She is badly injured, but still in the fight.
Sark turns the statue and the lava flows begin to shift towards her. She curses and sidesteps it then glares at Sark. With a flick of her wrist she redirects the glowing thorned sword at him but Sark ducks away. With a snarl of frustration Hafshi stretches out her hands and calls upon the powers of her god, sending dark smoke-like tendrils through the chamber.

Leonides resists the tendrils of negative energy as best he can, then follows up Ugly's whip takedown with a smashing blow from his flail. "Go to your patron, priestess. Your reward waits for you."

Sark tries to duck the black wave as it washes over everyone.
will: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Seeing how ineffective using the statue was, Sark decided to just try to remove it off the alter to stop all the lava from flowing from it. Moving it to behind the alter Sark tries to use it as cover from the swinging sword.

"You dare to touch a holy relic of Moloch!" Hafshi glares at Sark and raises a hand, surely preparing more terrible magic. She is interrupted by the crack of Ugly's whip in the air as it snakes out and wraps her ankle, pulling her off her feet. Before she can do anything Leonides cracks her skull with a solid blow from his flail and she goes limp, blood pooling under her head.
With the idol removed from the altar the lava ceases to flow and the streams begin to cool.
COMBAT OVER
In the moments after Hafshi's defeat all can hear faint cries of terror, anguish, and the sounds of metal-on-metal combat coming from the idol, but they grow more distant as the magic in the idol dissipates and the relic goes dormant.
The obsidian relief is another matter. Smokey forms still swirl within and mental suggestions continue to worm their way into your minds, though they seem to weak to force anyone to follow their will.
Replace the idol!
Open the portal to Malebolge!
Unleash the wrath of Moloch!

So that was easy, sorta, lets get this thing out of here before more of these fire wielding nut jobs show up.

![]() |

"Oh, yes. Let's. Just one quick thing first. Such a shame; she should have been one of Arshea's." Leonides invokes a quick cantrip (detect magic) and searches Hafshi's body and the rest of the area.

![]() |

Neat, I never thought to check... :p Never played a cleric that channeled negative energy.
Haku stares down at the dying cleric. "Yes, a shame." He then looks up at his friends, "I am spent. The Island Father will bless me no more this day..."

DM Rah |

Before you left Absalom you talked with a few members of the Andoran faction within the Society about where you were headed. They expressed concern that the cult of Moloch had returned and might become a threat to liberty and freedom, so they asked that you find some way to stop Moloch's charms from reaching out again.
While preparing for this mission you talked with a few members of the Silver Crusade about the cult of Moloch. Though they didn't have much useful information there was a general concern about the cult's return and the amount of suffering that would follow if that was allowed to occur. It was hoped that the rumors were unfounded, but if they proved true, as is apparently the case, then they suggested that you should eradicate the cult and find some way to stop Moloch's influence from reaching out again.

Pascal stares at the Obsidion relief. Guys... I think maybe this is what's causing all this grief. It's like the relief is calling out and drawing people here. Perhaps if we could destroy it we could end the influence of Moloch in this place.
Pascal looks for a way to possibly destroy the obsidian relief.
Whoops, missed a few posts above :)

DM Rah |

The forms swirling in the obsidian scatter as Haku strikes the relief with his club. A chip flies free and wisps of smoke rise from the damaged area. The same happens when Leonides swings his flail into it. It's startling at first, but the smoke causes no harm, and the distressing mental images commanding you to stop confirm that you are on the right track. Soon chips and shards are flying. The obsidian is hard, but their weapons and the strength behind them is enough. After a handful of minutes the relief cracks down the middle and a few dozen smoky forms fly forth, screeching loudly before dissipating into the air, never to reappear.
***
With the idol recovered and the a Temple cleared you eventually make the return journey to return Absalom and hand over the idol to the Pathfinder Society, where the chroniclers and sages study its planar powers and the heritage of the archdevil Moloch.
Meanwhile the Qadiran sandstorms recede, the fire creatures that have already wandered through the portal disperse, and the cult goes quiet in Qadira once more.
Congratulations! You have reached the end of the scenario and found success in both your primary and secondary missions. I will put together chronicles in the next day or two. Thanks everyone for a great game!

Argh I missed it lol.
Thanks everyone for the game.

As the relic is pounded into bits, Ugly watches while leaning against the wall with folded arms.
Then something in the dirt catches his attention. He bends down to brush away the concealing debris, pausing, he reaches out with trembling fingers, trawling up a dubious looking object. Inspecting it closely, he confirms to himself, ”Pinché". ...was here... Damn it!, his fist tightens around the clue; he pockets the item and leaves the citadel behind.
...next time...soon.
