Nothing shows as magic to Elena.
Elathras opens the door, the two vulture demons in the room squawk something in Abyssal.
"Finally!"
A cloud of spores and a trail of feathers surrounds this twisted cross between a man and a gigantic vulture.

Can't fail the knowledge check.
"Vrocks. Demons. Cover your ears and use good-aligned weapons if you have them. I'd tell you more but they'll probably die too quickly."
The veiled cleric steps forward and points towards the two large demons in their very cramped room. She'd wonder what were they even doing in there but had long since stopped asking herself those sorts of questions.
"Leave these sacred halls and crawl back to the abyss that spawned you!" She shouts, and four celestial giants ants enter from Nirvana who waste no time in tearing into the demons!
Standard: cast summon monster V (giant ants, one of the few celetial animals not Large but medium in size), move: start performance. With sacred summons as a feat, they attack right away. I'll summon the ants in an L shape in the room as there is barely any room to move in and I don't think they'll survive one round. The ants all smite the demons so they ignore their DR.

Elathras Narcinal |

Feeling the magic stir around him, Elathras watches as Elena's ants take the fight to the demons. Chuckling as the demon clearly moves slower he raises an eyebrow as Vhane quickly fires off several shots with his crossbow, bringing down the last demon. Making a mental note to ask the dwarf how he gets off so many shots so quickly, Elathras crosses the threshold. "Well done Pathfinders." Leaning his polearm against the wall he quickly checks the room for anything of value.

GM_DBH |

Forgot to put the description in. My mistake.
A21. 5TA1NED-GLASS GALLERY
This room is a sort of enclosed bridge suspended over the cliff and
shore. The east and west walls are decorated with magnificent stained-glass windows depicting wonderful landscapes of the Outer Planes and of the home of the gods of Golarion.
Walkway to the last room. Nothing of value aside from the stained-glass windows.
What are you doing now?

Lt. Vhane |

With smoke rising from the end of his crossbow, Vhane puffs it away before reloading it.
Not really. But it would be cool if there were smoke. Just so he could actually do that. That and have the "whistle" sound from one of them 70's spaghetti westerns as he stares down his opponent. :)
Following after Elathras, Vhane waits for Bharak to check out the door. "Another door. Might be interestin', might not." He shrugs.

Elathras Narcinal |

Taking a moment to observe the stained-glass windows, Elathras asks gesturing towards the windows. "What do you think Elena are these something you'd take a sketch of?" Hearing Bharak's observation about the other door, he adds, "When we have time, I mean." As he speaks he moves towards the other door, inspecting it quickly, he attempts to open it.
Taking 10(26) on perception for the door, if it appears safe he will try and open it.

GM_DBH |

The door is not trapped or locked.
A22. BATHS
This room is finely tiled with ceramic and glass and smells of pleasant floral aromas. A large, circular stone bath rises from the floor in the
middle. Of the three stained-glass windows in the room, the ones on the west and the east walls are flanked by large clay vases under copper pipes that descend from the ceiling. The air is pleasantly warm, no doubt heated by the steaming waters in the bath
On one side of the room is the statue of a beautiful half-elven woman armed with a sword and a hooked club. She seems familar to Axton & Elena when they see her?
Sadly the other two occupants of the room don't seem interested in bathing. The Hill giant swings lustily at the first person he sees.

I'll start a performance as I apply the salve. If the half-elf fails the saving throw I'll dismiss performance to grant her a reroll. If she fails twice that's obviously the GM's bad luck coming to bite us for once then I'll cast Breath of Life on her right after she dies, assuming that works.

I missed this bit of loot as well.
Loot:
Some ofthe bathing implements in the room (oils, bath salts, soap) are of exceptional quality and worth a total of 80gp.
Among the vials of bath salts and oils in the northwest alcove are three potions of Eagle's splendor.
Sufestra's disguise equipment is kept in the southeast alcove-this masterwork disguise kit is particularly well equipped with elven princes s disguises, and grants a +4 bonus on such Disguise checks.
Fort save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Nearly :(
Elena applies the Stone Salve to the statue and it becomes flesh again with s startled gasp.
Koriah Azmeren's eyes dart around the room in shock and confusion, they narrow as she see's the party. "What? What is happening?"
She calms down when she recognizes Elena & Axton. Taking several shuddering breathes.
She was in Magnimar when she received a panicked Sending from her father. The Cleric of Desna at the Abbey. She informed Sheila Heidmarch but didn't wait for help to be called for and set out on her own. Despite being tough and slipping past the giants she was jumped immediately as she entered the abbey by the Medusa. Statue time. Her father was in charge of the lighthouse in the courtyard A4 and she believes he will be there if he's still alive.
Anything else you wish to ask her?
Keep a hold of that Stone salve. If applied to someone living it gives you stoneskin!

Elathras Narcinal |

Hearing that one of the original clerics may still live, Elathras, having a gift for the obvious, asks, "Do you know how to gain access to the tower so we may check on him before we descend through the Groetus door?"
Again, just some fluff, not sure if it matters which we do first.

Axton Vendian |

"She looks very moisturized compared to a few moments ago," Axton mumbles to Elathras and Vhane before turning to Koriah, whom he totally remembers from the Heidmarch mansion.
"Welcome back," Axton says to Koriah. He explains that she was petrified by the now-dead medusa, to which he indicates. He asks after her father, already suspecting that he knows the answer.

"And do you know what's in that tower? Or beyond the Groetus door?"
Again, just some fluff, not sure if it matters which we do first.
I like clearing the tower before we descend into the Doomsday Basement.

Bharak Slagsun |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

As the others talked with the unpetrified (and likely traumatized) pathfinder, Bharak rummaged through the various soaps, oils, bath salts and the like. Standing next to his kinsman, he muttered ”These will fetch a good price, aye? If every enemy we killed was so obsessed with their personal hygiene, we’d all be wealthy by now.”

Lt. Vhane |

"She looks very moisturized compared to a few moments ago," Axton mumbles to Elathras and Vhane before turning to Koriah, whom he totally remembers from the Heidmarch mansion.
Nodding matter-of-factly,, "Aye. That she does for sure."

"Aye, they will. Definitely worth takin'."
"If every enemy we killed was so obsessed with their personal hygiene, we’d all be wealthy by now.”
"We'd be livin' alright, is what we'd be doin'. Would not be doin' this, for sure. At least, I wouldn't." He shrugs.

Koriah Azmeren's eyes dart around the room in shock and confusion, they narrow as she see's the party. "What? What is happening?" She calms down when she recognizes Elena & Axton, taking several shuddering breathes.
Noting the other Pathfinder's distress, Elena does her best to calm her down and raises her hands in placation. "Easy. It's all right; you're safe now. Do you need a bit of time to get your bearings?" She offers, rather than going straight into an interrogation. "It's good to see you again, Koriah. Do you remember me? I am Elena. We met a few months ago in the Magnimar lounge. It's very impressive that you managed to get this far by yourself." She smiles warmly through her veil. "If you're injured, please allow me to see to your wounds. Afterwards, are you feeling up to joining up with us as we search for your father and the other missing clerics?"

GM_DBH |

Sadly Koriah didn't get the chance to learn anything of value, being ambushed as she tried to sneak into the abbey.
The only thing left to do is the bell tower at A4 and the locked door at A10. Your options at A4 are to try and pick the lock, break the door, hammer on the door to attract the attention of whoever is inside? Or fly up and peer through the upper windows to see who is in there?
What are you doing?

![]() |

With nothing useful coming out of Khorah and her mental and physical state appearing sound enough, Elena nods. "All right. Bharak, can you try picking the lock at the tower door outside? We should check on her father if he is still there. If not, we might have to force it open. Or teleport through if Axton is able to."
This wasn't the super evil lock with the aura of dread, right?

Elathras Narcinal |

. Her father was in charge of the lighthouse in the courtyard A4 and she believes he will be there if he's still alive.
Hearing Koriah's father was in charge of the tower, Elathras asks, as they head toward the door, "Maybe he's just being cautious. What if we just knock and let Koriah tell her dad that it's safe?"

![]() |

"That's assuming he's still there and that there isn't some monster holding him hostage. The rest of the church has been taken over by them... why would they not take the tower?" Elena says. "I would take a cautious approach where possible and see if we can sneak inside as we've done thusfar. But if the group at large wishes to throw that caution to the winds, I'll support you as well as I can."
