Hello, DM and Players! Thanks for the selection!

Two questions before I finalize my character:

First, the alternate Favored Class option for a Tiefling Paladin is +1 hp to Lay on Hands when he uses it to heal himself. Is that option available at Level 1, before I gain the LoH's Class Feature?

Second (longer question):
Secondly, my original character concept was a Sacred Servant Archetype paladin. But, there is a conflict of sorts, in my own head, with a part-demon summoning angels (or archons, really). I know mechanically there is no issue. But, I prefer a character to be more than pure mechanics.

It occurred to me, that since a Sacred Servant doesn't have to negotiate for simple tasks, and since there are strong redemption elements to the AP, that Quinn might summon demons or fiendish creatures with the ability. This could be the permanent case from start to finish, or it could last until some point at which Quinn demonstrates a profound connection to goodness/Iomedae/other-goodly-power, and his heritage is overlooked. (I know the story elements of Campaign Traits potentially resolve themselves at some point.)

Or, if none of that suits, I am perfectly happy to let the matter drop! It's not intended to be cheese. I promise. It won't affect how the character is played or my playing enjoyment.

I'm looking forward to getting started!

EDIT: Question the Third: I noticed that another of the characters (Hyram) has the Exposed to Awfulness Campaign Trait. Quinn's backstory works for EtA, of course. But, it also works very well for Stolen Fury with very little to no alteration. If you want a more complete spread of the Campaign Traits, it would not be a problem for me to make the change. That's not really a question... So... What's the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

1) They really did put that in there without a qualifier... lol... Yea, it is ok to take it at level 1.

2) This:

I just wanted to let you know that when I was doing an audit of my character, I realized that I had bought her light crossbow, which I get for free due to arcane bond. With the 35gp find, I purchased a journal (10 gp), and a scroll of expeditious retreat (25 gp).

Right now there is "dark flagstone" over most of it with a compass rose in the lower right hand corner. Obviously, in order to not cause party conflict, all longswords must go to the ones not proficient with them. And also so that way the wizards gets to carry even more stuff to weigh them down.

Mechanically, yeah... pretty much. Assuming it's alive, and not just a husk, Aladir and Alikia basically initiated combat while Ezro, Hyram, and Quinn have readied attacks against the spider if it charges.

So, we're waiting to see if there's any reaction or no reaction from the spider.

Regarding Horgus: It was intended to be a friendly sort of, "Shut up and wait your turn." So, my first choice would be Diplomacy. I just put the Intimidate check in there in case you felt there was a little too much menace behind it.

At the moment, Quinn wouldn't be ostracizing any of the fallen... even if they are being a bit insistent and whiny.

It is understandable. Real life has a way of springing surprises.

Are we taking a betting pool of who's going to be covered in grossness, now? if so, my money's on Ezro and some sort of slime/swarm.

EDIT: DOH! I just realized that I forgot to take -4 for firing into combat. Does anyone know how to strike through stuff? Or, the gm could roll my to hit on round end. Whichever is easiest.

That should read "places the two vials of holy water nearby".

Sorry Quinn suddenly turned into a holy stick-in-the-mud! That's what happens when I try to post quickly as I'm dashing out the door!

I do recommend trying to bring our charges up to full health, though. Maybe save one heal for a possible fight.

Do we know what all of the scales do? What I mean is, do we all know?

Because, Aladir has one that can cast levitate 3 times a day, if I remember correctly. But, I don't want to say that in game if that is out of character knowledge...

Aladir knows what all the scales do, except yours Quinn unless you told him, as he was the one that picked them all up.

If you guys want to say that you discussed who has what scale, etc. That is ok with me.

Quinn's scale can cast align weapon three times a day, to make a weapon Lawful or Good. While very useful, probably best in someone else's hands. Smite Evil makes DR not a huge concern for Quinn.

I was actually going to ssee if Aladir wanted to trade at some point...
