After a long days work, you are spending a relaxing evening in the Rusty Dragon Inn, run by Ameiko Kaijitsu, friend to all, and confidant to some of the younger crowd in Sandpoint. Dinner and beverage have arrived, and just as you are about to being eating, Sheriff Hemlock comes in and after speaking briefly with Ameiko, announces to the room at large, ”the Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have grown unusually aggressive lately. Must be those fireworks that they have. I am re-instating the 10 gold piece bounty on fresh goblin right ears, but listen up. A few adventurers went there 3 days ago, but have not come back yet, so you young'ns be careful if you go.” With that announcement he leaves the Inn, and all the young folks, including yourself gather to start making plans to save the town from these creatures.
Please provide the following information in your request to join:
A complete character sheet, including short description, and a brief history.
Recruitment ends on Thursday evening, January 9th. Four characters will be selected and announced Saturday evening, January 11th . Play will begin on Monday, January 13th.
Character Creation
- Download and read the Players Guide.
- Allowed books/rules: Core Rulebook; Other books/rules: Most archetypes; Cleric sub-domains; Ranger alternate combat styles.
- 25 point character buy. All scores 10 or greater after racial adjustments.
- Maximum gold for 1st level, maximum hit points all levels.
- Two traits. One must be a campaign trait.
- Social skills (Diplomacy, Bluff, etc) as well as all Knowledge skills and Survival are important.
- Alignment. Looking for mostly Good aligned (LG, NG) characters, but will think about other alignments. NO CN, or Evil.
- Daily posts are expected, Monday thru Saturday.
- I will select 1) Fighter or Paladin (melee), 2) Wizard, 3) Cleric (melee), 4) Other (Ranger, Bard, Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, something else?)
PbP rules
- To speed up play, I will roll perception, survival, initiative, and other rolls for the group as appropriate.
- Because this is a PbP, encounters will be changed or removed and there will be more story and RP rewards. I will also tell the group as a whole when to level instead of handing out XP.
- Please provide your timezone in GMT. I am in upstate New York, USA, GMT -5.
Jade Regent
- If you have played this AP, let me know how far you got in the adventure. I will not eliminate someone for prior knowledge, but do expect it to be kept to themselves.
- Will not be using the Caravan rules.
- Will be using the Relationship rules, if the PC wishes to.
- Student Survivalist trait is changed to follow the James Jacobs update HERE

Howdy!
Reading your allowed books/rules and reversing them back at you to ensure I understand:
No spells, gear (mundane or alchemical), feats, classes, Rage Powers, etc. from anything other then the core rulebook, right?
Is it fair to assume an exception for Traits, since they are not in the core rulebook? This exception obviously allows the traits from the player's guide. Does it extend to the Traits within the Advanced Player's Guide (where Traits were introduced) only, or also to the Traits in the Campaign Guide (which is also in the SRD)?

Other than what I listed (archetypes, sub-domains, ranger combat styles) no, nothing outside the core rulebook.
*crud* Yea, traits from the Advanced Player Guide and the Players Guide are allowed. I knew I missed something.

Will be using the Relationship rules, if the PC wishes to.
I've never played Jade Regent before, or even looked into it much, but I'm reading the Player's Guide now and this appeals to me a whole hell of a lot. What I'm wondering is if you'd allow / want to do the Relationship rules, because I'm all about interesting characters / roleplay opportunities, and I've never gotten to do that sort of thing before.

hustonj |
GREAT!
I saw the obvious error on Traits, and figured I should check for other missed assumptions. Not because I wanted them to exist, but because those thinking of applying needed to have the right assumptions with you.
I had the good fortune of playing this entire AP with a group of friends around a table. It was a BLAST!
I'm going to follow this game ad, and if there's low competition or no submissions for something important, I might offer something to "fill the void," but I would rather have people who haven't enjoyed this AP get the chance first.

Lou Kasuri |

Great, finally a jade regent game.
And i cant use the character i made for this AP a year or more ago.
Oh well ill submit him but it is certain to be rejected. (Again)
Applied to nearly every one that came up for the past year or more, never got in yet, at least long enough to say i plaued a part of it.
First time, never finished the first encounter, the second seemed to die during the intro role playing to introduce ourselves.
Of course he will have to be changed (again) but iwoul prefer to keep as much as possible.
See the alias for info,

Aliver Magravi |

Here's a ranged fighter I made for Jade Regent; however I would like to change him to ranger with the Skirmisher and Guide archetypes if you don't mind him having 2 archetypes.
I'm currently at GMT +1, however I am moving in February and will be in Central US time.
I currently have no experience playing Jade Regent, so this would all be new to me.

If one or more PCs want to use the relationship rules, we will use them, but I am not going to penalize a PC for not being interested in that sub system. They will have a "neutral" relationship with all the major NPCs instead of something else.

As long as you're open to the idea, I'm super happy. I'll be submitting a Cleric today.

Avan the Aloof |

This is Wolfgang Rolf's character.
Timezone: GMT +3.
Haven't played this AP before and I am fine with the relationship rules.
Everything should be ready in the character sheet, but I doubt I'll be picked since Avan is neutral and your looking for a mostly good party, but hey it doesn't hurt to try.
About Avan's character I would like to say that just because he has very weak social skills, doesn't mean he'll be mostly silent, and he will very likely get along with the party despite his trust issues, especially since judging by what I read that your planning to get a mostly good aligned party, so he should be more inclined to be interested in them and more trusting, so as far as RP and his neutrality go, he shouldn't really be against most of the goals or decisions of a party consisting of mostly good aligned characters.
Like most of my characters Avan's feat and skill choices are based mostly on his background story and personality. Avan will be going through the trip line of feats and eventually he'll pick up vicious stomp. He will also go for greater grapple to complement the snapping turtle style feats he'll be acquiring and of course since he's a monk with the martial artist archetype he'll have access to fighter feats which means access to things like greater weapon focus and the weapon specialization feats. The bonus feats he'll get as a monk will include things like improved grapple, trip and disarm, dodge and deflect arrows.
Avan will mostly fight unarmed, and in addition to the decent damage he'll do thanks to the weapon specialization feats, he'll also utilize maneuvers like trip, grapple and just a bit of disarm to make the lives of his opponents very difficult.
One last thing I hope you won't remove a lot of combat encounters, because while I love RP, I also find the combat aspect to be quite enjoyable as well, well good luck to everyone.

Ahh crap I still had the wound and vigor data from the last application in there (forgot about that.) it was a varient rule in the Ultimate Combat found here
Trait (may need to change) but it os from:
Pathfinder Player Companion: Dragon Empires Primer © 2011, Paizo Publishing, LLC; Authors: Tim Hitchcock and Colin McComb
also I know about being low on the point buy as it still needed update from my previous application. hopefully I can work on that tonight.

YoricksRequiem |

Okay, first pass at my Human (Cloistered) Cleric. Totally open for feedback / suggestions / questions.
Re: The previous questions
- I have not played Jade Regent before and know nothing about it outside of the premise and what's in the Player Guide.
- I am in Boston (GMT -5)
I am leaving the specifics vague pending the rest of the party. I’m intending to have a relationship (preferably some degree of romantic) with one of the NPCs (Ameiko, Sandru, or Shaelu), but I also don’t want one of the NPCs to be more crowded than the others. My character has reason to be attracted to any of the three of them. As such, I’m also leaving my gender completely up in the air at this point, so I’ll be referring to my character in the first person for this bit, to make it easier.
Something that will be consistent regardless is that I’d have been born into nobility and wouldn’t have any kind of taste for it. My parents would have generally been distant, though after an older sibling died while adventuring, they’d have considered the world a dangerous place and would have forced me into the church. The idea being "seen as a commodity rather than a person". Whichever NPC I knew in my youth would never have treated me that way.
NPC variations:
If Ameiko: We’d have snuck off together during social events while our parents talked about the kind of boring things that noble adults talk about.
If Shaelu: Because I hadn’t anyone close in my family, I’d have wandered off often, longing to explore the world beyond Sandpoint’s limits, though never being able to take the step outside. We’d have spent time there on the border between worlds.
If Sandru: My older sibling and Jubrayl would have been friends, and Sandru and I would have become closer after his parent’s died.
My parents wouldn’t have liked any of them. Ameiko they’d have considered irresponsible, Shaelu would have been “dirty” and common, and Sandru’s dark, mischevious eyes would have just spelled trouble, epsecially with the route his brother went.
In each of these characters, there’s a sense of freedom and being your own person that I’d find fascinating. They all left to go adventuring, to see the world in ways we always dreamed of, and I never got to. I stayed behind, watching from the window as they rode off.
I imagine in most of these cases, I don’t see them very often anymore. Sandru and Shaelu in particular travel around a lot. Ameiko is always there, but she is also reclusive in her own ways. Going with them would make me pretty thrilled, and even while frightened, I’d be doing something that I always wanted to, with the person that I want to be with, rather than a life that was chosen for me. I can elaborate on my personality further, but I think most of it can be imagined based on this alone, and I don’t want this to be too long.

Traits
Childhood Crush - You have a crush on one of the NPCs. You gain a +1 bonus on all attack rolls against foes that threaten your crush. Once per day, make a DC 15 Charisma check on your crush. If you’re successful, gain a +1 bonus on all saving throws for the remainder of the day. If you ever win the NPC’s love, this +1 bonus on saving throws applies at all times.
Birthmark - +2 to saves vs charm/compulsion, and your body becomes a divine focus.
Feats
Human - Heavy Armour Proficiency
Level 1 - Selective Channeling
Special Abilities
Proficiencies - All simple weapons, light armour, medium armour, shields (not tower shields), the favoured weapon of their deity.
Aura - A cleric of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful deity has a particularly powerful aura corresponding to that deity’s alignment.
Channel Energy (1d6) - The Cleric can channel the power of faith through a holy symbol, which is used to cause damage to undead creatures, or to heal living creatures. Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. Creatures that take damage get a Will save of 10 + ½ the cleric’s level + the cleric’s Charisma modifier. Creatures healed cannot exceed their maximum hit point total. This can be done a number of times per day equal to 3 + the cleric’s Charisma modifier. Standard action, no attack of opportunity. The cleric can choose whether to include themselves. They must be able to present their holy symbol to use this ability.
Spontaneous Casting - The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same level or lower.
Diminished Spellcasting - The Cloistered Cleric only chooses one domain, and her number of non-domain spells per day for each spell level is one less than normal.
Breadth of Knowledge - Gain ½ level (Min +1) on Knowledge checks and can make knowledge checks untrained.
Spells
Saving Throw: 10 + Spell Level + Wisdom Modifier
Spells per Day:
0-Level: 2 (3 Base - 1 Diminished)
1-Level: 1+1 (1 Base - 1 Diminished + 1 Bonus (Wisdom) + 1 Domain)
Domain: Community
Calming Touch - You can touch a creature as a standard action to heal it of 1d6 points of nonlethal damage + 1 point per cleric level. This removes fatigued, shaken, and sickened conditions (but not more severe conditions). You can use this a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Will submit a Varisian bard entertainer who happens to be in town while his troupe is roving. A little disagreement with the chief about his daughter leAds him to be seeking a new adventure if possible.
Native Varisian means some rogue skills thrown in with bardic knowledge. Happy to play off anyone else's submissions if it makes sense. PC will be a naughty boy and tend to act first think later. High knowledge maybe but lack of wisdom as well.
No experience playing JR but have always wanted a turn at it. Regular poster in the Central us timezone

Here's my character submission. Yorvylan is an elven conjurer. His campaign trait is Crush (Shalelu).
Myself, I'm on the West Coast of North America (GMT-8).
Character portrait of Yorvylan (Character portrait by Barbora Matuskova (CC-BY-NC-ND 3.0))
An average height mail elf with caramel-colored hair that hangs just past his shoulders and solid dark violet eyes. He usually dresses in dark maroon robes, and often has a thrush sitting on shoulder to whom he will speak in the elvish tongue. Height: 6'0"; Weight: 124 lbs; Age: 142.
Personality: Worldly, forward, outgoing, restless.
Yorvylan was born and grew up in Kyonin; his childhood years were unremarkable, and he did not yet begin to study magic. He was restless, however, and wanted to go see the world. He was not happy "trapped" in the forest kingdom of his people. As soon as he was old enough to travel on his own, he left Kyonin, and began to see the world. He spent some time in the River Kingdoms, and then travelled down the Sellen river to Andoran and Taldor, and spent several years in Absalom. There, he considered both enrolling in the Arcanamirium and joining the Pathfinder Society, but ended up doing neither. Instead, he continued to travel, moving further south and spending time in Jalmeray. It was there, finally, that he began his magical training. A wizard, a Vudrani woman by the name of Jayzhi, took him on as an apprentice, and tought him the arts of conjuration.
As his apprenticeship was almost complete, Jayzhi was killed when she was attacked by a rival wizard, a necromancer who had long been jealous of her. Yorvylan was wounded in the attack as zombies overran Jayzhi's laboratory; he was only able to escape by summoning a fire beetle to buy him time. The beetle was quickly overcome by the zombies, but it was just enough for Yorvylan to escape.
Knowing that the necromancer who had killed Jayzhi would likely try to finish what he had started, Yorvylan decided that it was time to leave Jalmeray. He left by ship at his first opportunity, and made his way back north, ending up in Varisia. He travelled for a couple of years with a Varisian caravan, only occasionally praticing his magic.
Finally, he came to the town of Sandpoint, where his life changed. That was where he met Shalelu. Although he thought he "knew" elves, and that he would never be terribly interested in them after having grown up with them, he found himself bowled over by this mysterious elven woman and protector of Sandpoint. He has not confessed this to her, but he fell for her almost immediately after meeting her. She seemed to be living the carefree life of the wanderer that he had been trying to live, and yet by being one of the prime defenders of Sandpoint, she had also really found something to dedicate herself to in a way that Yorvylan never did. What's more, he admired her spunk, and her strength; especially the latter is a quality he finds lacking in himself. And, so, Yorvylan settled in Sandpoint, and has lived there for nearly a year now. He finds it stimulating just to be around when Shalelu comes back into town, and he hopes that one day he will be able to develop the courage to approach her about his feelings.

Here is my elven transmuter as I promised, earlier than I planned. Once I started I got caught up in the character. I hope you like him. The character sheet is in the alias, but will be happy to spoiler it here if you would prefer.
I am in the US and in central time. I will have no problems meeting the posting requirements.

I gonna have to bow out of this game. I just had to fire an employee and until I hire someone new, I'll have to cover their shift as well as my own. So, for at least two weeks, I won't have the time to play this and the game I dm in real life. I really wanted to play though! Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Generally, you'll find yourself having far more luck if you try submitting characters that meet the limits posted by the GM.

Here is Crunch for Vasily Petrescu, Varisian Bard. I am going for a whip user, using the improved disarm feat when possible to keep foes weapons out of reach.
I did not choose archetype to keep the bardic performance ability to aid the party.
First draft here and backstory to follow, but you get the idea of what I'm going for I think. Took Crush campaign using Ameiko as his object of desire, both because she's attractive, but also a performer like him. If that doesn't work, LMK.
If you have questions or suggestions, please offer them. I will build alias if chosen for the game. Thanks!
