Half of the damage to segang will go to Cherias due to Shield Other, but the question is, is that before or after damage reduction? I think it's after, which would mean we both take 1. Otherwise Cherias takes 2 and Segang takes 0.

What readied action? Your input didn't specify that. I assumed you meant to withdraw and avoid an AoO... unless you want to take the AoO from moving anyway.

Move Back Absinthe when you can. Let me take point.

Letting his rage fall from him Segang readies his hammer and steps back and out of the sewage.

He is taking -4 to hit around the rogue while being forced to stand in the sewage. I would much rather let them out where we all can be effective.

Here is where I thought he was readying. I was positing from my phone while camping. At the time Segang could only reach with his spear. He was not threatened as far as I knew. If he was then he could reach the enemy too and would have attacked. As I intended he dropped the spear after missing due to cover from Ab, moved back pulling his Earthbreaker, and readied to hit an enemy as it came out. Otherwise he just wasted his standard and would have at least stabbed before moving back.

Well, we'll settle it this way: Essentially we're back to the post above, with Segang killing the first rat instead of Seren. (Using the roll above) Segang kills the threatening rat before moving. The second rat runs through and bites him.

"Vermin," Absinthe growls -- and she leaps into action! Somehow, the tiefling manages to bounce from one side of the narrow tunnel to the other, she manages to somehow get on the opposite side of the rat without kicking anyone in the head.

As the tiefling's hooves splash down in the water seeping along the floor, her mace whistles down towards the giant rat's skull.

Absinthe uses Acrobatics to move to J7 and attacks the rat. If this position invokes flanking rights, please add +2 to her attack roll, and 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 sneak attack to damage.

Round Four
Initiative Order: Melianthe [13], Cherias [5] \\ Absinthe, Segang [23], Seren [15], Rats [14]

Melianthe waits for the right time to act, while Cherias takes up and loads his crossbow. Absinthe flips across the room, coming up beside the dire rat and slamming it hard with her mace. Segang finishes it off a moment later, leaving only a bloody smear on the sewer floor.

Melianthe then steps into the gap, calling a hex onto the only visible foe. The wererat fires his readied crossbow, missing wide before the curse takes hold and he crumbles to the ground.

The shrieker continues to drown the area with its piercing wail.

Absinthe acrobatically moves to H10 and attacks with her mace! Attack roll 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage.

Seren waits for an opportunity. Segang leads the second charge in, moving carefully through the muck channel and swinging his maul at first wererat. The foe is waiting and clips Segang's arm before his attack lands. The earth breaker hits with crushing impact, but the wererat's resistant hide absorbs much of the blow.

Absinthe follows nimbly, coming through the break and smacking the second rat with her mace. It recoils from the silver weapon, snarling. Melianthe moves up, casting a minor curse on the northern wererat, and Cherias establishes a life-link with Melianthe.

The shrieker finally ceases its wail, leaving your ears ringing but able to make out sounds again. From the east, you make out shouts of alarm, and a chorus of squeaking rats to the north heralds the entrance of a massive swarm of rats pouring through narrow cracks in that wall.

A couple things to retcon. 1) Segang's armor class is currently 18 so the 17 misses. The Shield Other Spell bumps it by 1. So Cherias, I have to agree; brilliant. :) And 2) Segang had applied a silver Alchemical wash onto the earth breaker so that his first hit would be bypass DR/Silver. Segang shifts, stepping out of the sewage channel while swinging his hammer again. The wererat spins with him, nimbly dodging the heavy blow. Calling out a warning, Absinthe bashes her foe again, who spits and snarls at the silver contact.

Melianthe vomits up a mass of crawling spiders, sending it charging into the oncoming rats. The two swarms merge and clash, spiders crawling and biting into the larger rodents, while the rats gnash and stomp the vermin in return.

Cherias takes out a glass bottle, but cannot yet see the rat swarm to use it.

The wererats fight back. Segang's target sees and opening and steps across from him and into a flanking position by Absinthe. His attacks miss the tiefling, but the second wererat stabs Absinthe and bites her viciously.

Two more wererats run in from the eastern portal, moving up to and attacking Melianthe. Now sandwiched between two foes with little room to maneuver, the witch earns a bloody wound.

do they have reach weapons? If not, I shall keep the action.

Hate to be a pain in the ass about the particulars, but concentrating and casting the hex are both standard actions. 2nd note, even if you levitate to the ceiling, they will still be able to attack you. Change of plans?

Rat swarm should not be able to attack. But movement would likely provoke.

Swarms don't really attack nor do they threaten, they have a reach of zero. They just do damage every round to someone in their square, plus all their various saves
