Sounds like the consensus is to take her offer. If you have nothing more to ask her, she will guide you into the sewers when you are ready.

Segang returns to the lady. We are inclined to help you. If we do, I wonder if you will grant me a favor? I would like to be able to aways find you in the future, for as long as you live in the city. Or at least know I can get a message to you to arrange a meeting. Is this too high a price to pay for our help?

"Girrigz... He is a trueblood, and has lived in Korvosa his entire life. Over the years, I found him pigheaded at worst, a daydreamer at best. I have tried to reason with him, but he scoffs the wisdom of his elders."

Responding to Segang, she adds, "'Always?' Who could guarantee that, especially the way this city is going recently? I can offer that, if you wish to find me, I work along the docks."

Knowledge (local) DC 12:
You know that wererats are resistant to normal weapons in their hybrid form. This damage reduction can be overcome with silvered weapons. Wererats are also notorious for carrying diseases. The bite of a natural-born wererat can pass the curse, transforming the victim into one of them.

We need to acquire silvered weapons in the likely case that violence must be used. Can you help in that regard?

In the likely case she cannot, can we simply purchase silver weapons? Actually, after buying that scroll for 25 gold Segang will not have enough monty to buy one. He will need a loan.

Eries raises an eyebrow, then shakes her head. "No, I have no silver weapons."

I believe one of you has the silver dagger from back when...

"Silver is good, yes," Absinthe says. "But we must consider disease. Wererat bite passes the dread affliction. Anti-plague might be a good purchase..."

I carry a silvered light mace, so I'm good.

Absinthe also knows that a dose of wolfsbane (a poison) can help cure lycanthropy.

At your signal, Eries leads you across several blocks and into Midland. After following streets for a time, she takes a narrow alley through a few bends before ending in a shadowed cul de sac. There, a sewer cover with a broken bar provides access to the sewer tunnels below the streets.

The stench coming from within is breathtakingly bad. Still, Eries drops down without hesitation, guiding you into the depths.

It is fully dark within. Plans for light? Other preparation?

WHOA, Wolfsbane is pricey. 500 gp. Mel can buy a dose, but this is eating up her 'save up for magic items' fund.

Figure out who's got the light source...

The trek through the city sewers takes an indeterminate amount of time with no sun or references to mark the time. Eries takes you through a number of turns and tunnels, occasionally stopping to check a subtle sign or sniff at a corner. How she can scent anything through the stench, you have no idea.

Eventually, she stops and points ahead. "That way, a hundred steps or so," she says in a low voice. "Girrigz's den is in a cavern on the left side."

"One shall scout ahead, an it please you all," Absinthe says, her voice eerily calm. Provided there are no objections, the tiefling ghosts ahead, silvered mace in hand -- and smeared with dirt before entering the sewers, to mask the metal's shine.

Absinthe has Darkvision, so no need for a lightsource. Perception to find traps along the way: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17. Disable device on any traps found: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30. Stealth while scouting: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Segang will be happy for the light source. Put it in his belt pouch. That can be placed in a sack if need be.

The barbarian looks concerned for Absinthe, but says nothing as she moves ahead to scout. He knows any warning he speaks could be overheard and endanger her further, but his eyes speak caution.

While the rest of you wait, Absinthe disappears into the hazy shadows ahead.

Absinthe:
The tunnel continues ahead, and as Eries described, you encounter a cleft in the left wall a couple hundred feet down. A small stream of ooze from the center channel follows this fork into a man-sized break. The way beyond is obscured by wisps of thin, white smoke, but you can roughly make out a larger chamber.

The main channel continues ahead for another thirty to forty feet before it turns a corner to the left.

Several low alcoves are cut into the walls, each filled with moldering hay, filthy furs and tiny bones.
