I'd vote we deal with the demon now.
Brynn shares the information we have on the schir with shae. Schir's weak to silver and good. Immune to electricy and resists nearly all energy types. Likes to charge at people.

Also, don't forget that channel energy heals *all* living in a 30' burst (blocked by curtains, walls, etc). So only heal the demon in an emergency :P

"I suppose Maffei can help us fight the Schir, but Beth should go in first to catch his charge. I'd go first, but I'm still sharing half of her hurt. Any other thoughts on fighting the creepy thing from the pit?"

"Lets get it over with with this Schir. Maffei, if.. no I mean when, my hammer starts getting all green and glowy keep your distance. I have a feeling touching it would be unpleasant for you. I am assuming my god would not be welcoming but I could be wrong. I can just jump into the pit hammer first to start things out if you like."
She looks at the others waiting on the word to head back. Smaking things with a glowing hammer has proven to be fun. Big Brother, I am going to have to get you enchanted. Maybe make you shoot electricity or some such.

On the way to the pit room, the shadowy form of Maffei slowly blurs through the corridors, "Why would the glow hurt? I have no major weaknesses to anything but that terrible light the wizard put up. Do not worry about me too much." She seems to have a grin, among the blank shadowly face.

"You first, Beth. We'll follow right after. Maybe Vors can shove the door open and you can charge in after I channel a blessing from Kurgess?"

The door is as you left it. Knowing inside is a gate that might be locked. But going through the door will bring attention to your presense.
You can all go in maybe alert it, or someone can go in sneaky like and open the door (you have key). You still have not seen the beast though. It is likely in the pit still, though you know it can climb.
You know. After thinking about it..I know this is one of those stalling points in games where PbP is hard to continue.. So I am just going to move things along

As you all get into place, the beast crawls out of the pit and looks over the group. A goat headed demon with a large halbert in its hand. It pulls its head down and lines up a charge.

Brynn sends her last reserves of arcane power into her bow, making it magical. Swift action to use a pool point to make her bow a +1 longbow. Then she takes careful aim at the demon, nocks and arrow, and lets it fly!

Bethany's weapon seems to damage the creature but it does not seem quite as effective as it should.
Maffei charges forward and strikes the beast. But just nearly misses it.

Bring Big Brother around with an overhand smash Bethany puts all the strength she can into her swing. Sadly this comes at the expense of accuracy.

The demon seems to resist all the attacks, either dodging out of the way, or the weapon just bouncing off its hide.

So How did Vors and Bethany change positions for free? I could not find Bethany on the map, she was under Vors. Didn't think that was their relationship! ha. Didn't really matter too much because of rolls, so I placed everyone next to eachother. Kinda surrounding the creature. hopefully that is ok.
With everyone missing or striking the creature's hide and bouncing off Maffai dives in with her ice blue scimitar and short sword.

The smoky creature looks up, "Easy. Though, it seems to have hit me on my way into position." She seems cold and calculating as she says it.

"I do wish to leave soon, though you had promised me some healing of the damage the wall did to me. I do not think this was a required thing for our agreement, but if you where to heal me before I leave I would be appreciated. Otherwise I will leave this place. Find my own path."

You exit the house. And look into the town, calm and quiet in the evening light.

Brynn takes a breath of fresh air and smiles. "Let's let the Baroness know we've completed our mission, shall we? That slog deserves good pay. Yeeesh." After a moment she adds, "We should also visit the herbalist on the way back to the inn. We have her herbs to return."

Looking back to the outsider, Vors says calmly, "We'll tell the baroness about your condition. She seems like a lady who likes things done in an orderly fashion, hopefully including your departure. Maybe we can get one of the local priests to cast the right spells to set you right."

The small group makes its way to the Baroness's Manor. At this point this is a common thing to do.
A quick knock on the door and a minute later the Baroness answers the door herself.
"Greetings! Does this mean you have cleaned out that old manor?" Looking to the group, "Look at me, come in come on." And gesters everyone into the small room.
As everyone is settled, she gets a servant to bring drinks, both alcohol and not for everyone. "So everything has been cataloged and cleaned out? No more unknown dangers await inside? If so I can send in my clerks to do the final paperwork."
She waits, as much business as excitement for something being done right.

'That is great news. I am sure we can figure out the trap, or worst case sell it as a whole item. I don't think that goes against the contract with Hunclay's family." She takes a sip of some tea and looks over her paperwork.
"Well to the manner of your reward. Here is the remaining 4000 gold pieces fee for clearing the house. I will be scheduling the auction of the items. It will take awhile to get the house fully stripped as well as get the auction set up. As my thanks, if you wish to attend the auction I will cover half of the cost of any item you bid on, up to 7,500gp."
Looking around the room, 'Does this sound acceptable? In the meantime you are welcome to stay in our town, I will pay for your time in the piper during that month as well"
