I am a bit conserend about this game. I know we have all had a hard time with keeping this going lately.

Mostly my fault, for sure.

But with 3 players, one of which has been missing for awhile. I am wondering if we should call it here. I am willing to keep going, but we are near the end and trying to force new players into this module might be rought.

This was my first PbP game, and I am enjoying doing it. I just need the kick in the pants to keep it going. Which I am happy to do.

What are your thoughts, of the people here. I have messaged Bethany about it, and we will see if she replies.

The holidays are rought, and I am ok waiting for the new year to make any real decision. I would be sad to see this game fail after going for so long and so strong. With great RP as well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ^^

I'd like to finish, though I'd be a bit annoyed if we had to bot Bethany for the end of it :s

Honestly, I'm fine either way. I'd like to finish, but if it's too much for Bethany or Nex I won't be upset if we draw this to a close. I've had a lot of fun with this group, but I'm also busy now with freelance work, and I'm moving in less than a month. Plenty to do and not enough time to do it in. If we do continue, I'm sure there will be plenty of days I'm missing over the next month or two, FYI.

No pressure, either way.

I have been mulling this over for awhile. I do feel like the momentum has started to really falter. Especially after the death of Vors.

This was my first PbP game. Be it playing or GMing. I just went for it. I think it is pretty amazing that we got it this far, and I had this group to show me the ropes. We had some mazing RP moments throughout the game, with all the coming religion that we had.

I am a bit sad, and maybe a bit worried of my GMing style, that I caused a death like that. I have thought through that fight multiple times. Should I have let you know what you where getting into better? Explained the power of this thing? He was a "General" of the dragon and a high powered one. This type of situation would make me feel kinda bad at the table. I am not a fan of killing people. Sometimes the dice just roll bad, and sometimes it is the fault of the GM. I worry a bit.

But what happened happened. I do feel like we are all a bit crazy. Sounds like with moving, kids, etc. This might just not be the game we finish to completion.

We started this game over 2 years ago. My daughter was about a month old when we started this game. It has meant a lot. A good break from the crazyness that is the start to Parenthood. you have all been great players and I really appreciate everything you have all taught me. The friendly bickering between Vors and Brynn has shown me a type of RP that can be done without aggressiveness toward the players. And something that works out great in PbP type games. Allowing internal dialog be something we see, but characters don't auto react to it...

The list goes on, but I am just thankful for this group. I think it might be best to let it down gently. A bit of a bummer to get so far. There are some really rough fights ahead, and without 4 people (or some modifications) it was going to get rough.

I am worried about another game I am GMing as well. Seems to be slowly dying as well..

Anyway, with that being said. I might start up a new game in the next month or two. Maybe Pathfinder 2 or Starfinder or something new. When I do, I will message everyone, including you Vors! So make sure you check your PMs.

I am not going anywhere. I will be here on the forum. It is still my homepage, and I am going to leave the RSS for these threads going for awhile.

I hope this is ok with everyone. Thank you for bringing me into PbP so well. I only started Tabletop gaming maybe 4 years ago. It has been such a great part of my life. And PbP has been such a great different flavor of it.

I feel that this is more then a little my fault and it was due to bad timing. The games I am GMing have suffered as well. Having a second child and starting a major construction project at work did not go well with playing. I am truly sorry that my attention has strayed. I am now coming out of it and starting to catch up and get back in the swing.

I think you did a great job and it is hard to keep a game going in PbP. My first GMing game has been going since March 2017 so coming up on three years. It has been a challenge. Lots of players coming and going. The one that died quit. It is a hard job GMing PbP.

Again you did a great job and I appreciate it.

If you care I would love a final post. A narrative blaze of glory? Of course I am a bit of a Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid fan so the futile fight appeals.

I had fun and I'm glad you had fun, too, Nex! The resources you provided were very helpful! I look forward to your next pbp!

Nex, you did an awesome job, especially for a first time PBP GM.

I've had a lot of fun, and enjoyed playing with all of you. I hope I get to game with you again in the future.

See you around the boards!

Thanks everyone! I am going to be here.

As for a final post, feel free. Here is a breakdown of the rest of the story.

Don't read if you want to avoid spoilers. But if you want to do a final post. Feel free to use this as inspiration.

Rest of module:

As you explore the monastery you discover more of the Dragon's generals. Through that you end up learning its motives. He is trying to open up portals to the Great Beyond. Something that the monks did before releasing something terrible.

At one point you descover a secret chamber with a hidden monk from years past. It has been chosen to turn into an undead. To prove your worth you fight. Flurry of blows, each with mummy rot. Taking it down provides more info and even more gear for you.

You also end up learning the dragon's real name. It is just pretending to use its current name.

You finally end up going to its lair, farther in the mountains. As prepared as you can be with Dragon slaying weapons, and having potentially closed his portal to the Great Beyond, which means he cant bring in troops.

A huge fight in its cave ensues. It tries to run to his horde. Trying to gather up all of its gold and books. In the Horde you find the Druid's wife. Lady Kell. She is feisty and tries to stab at the dragon with one of its horde's daggers.

With her help you bring down the dragon. Gain access to a huge horde of loot. And Save the Druid's wife. Reuniting them together. She is pregnant with a child, which is why she was waiting for the right moment to strike. The dragon had taken her to keep the druid working for him.

With the town saved. Gold is up for spoils. You can donate it back to the town to help, keep it, mix of the two.

If you stick around for a months after the Kells have their child, and hame it after one of you.

Hope that is ok. Would love to read any final posts from you all, if you choose.

Again, I am thinking of doing a new game soon. When I do I will send you all a PM for first dibs. It will likely be PF2. Maybe Plaguestone module. I would love to play that with this group. I think it would go great.

Rapiers down, cups up:
The Heroes of Belhaim return after ending the dragon's machinations. People quickly see the party is missing one person. Talia rushes to the group, eyes swollen with tears, asking for Vors. Grilnik and Bethany tell the barkeep the sad news, and she breaks down in front of them. Through the sobbing, Talia reveals that she is pregnant, with Vor's child. A concerted effort is made by The Heroes of Belhaim and the townsfolk to recover Vor's body. The half-orc's funeral is given as much pomp and circumstance a small town like Belhaim can muster, buried with honors. Lady Kell and Talia give birth close to each other. The innkeeper gives birth to a noticably more human-looking half-orc boy, who takes his father's name. Above the small altar to Cayden Cailean in The Wise Piper hangs Vor's original rapier he brought from Oppara, where it is easily available when a few inn guests get too rowdy. Years later, Arnholde Origena, as a gift to Belhaim, commissioned a statue of Vors to be placed at his resting place. It's of the half-orc in a heroic pose with a plaque underneath: Here lies Vors Orcblood, one of the Heroes of Belhaim, who fell in service of the town that adopted him. He came as a stranger, and died a true caydenite. Raise your glasses high.
