Guys, I think this is going nowhere... no matter what we say I think he isn't going to simply come along so we might have to actually do something.
I believe our best hope of success would be Cassandra going for the grab and we follow suit to help her. I believe he would be considered surprise so his CMD would be a bit lower and Cass would get no AoO.

DM Jesse Heinig |

It's fine, I just wanted to make sure to head off any discussion of a topic that's pretty emotionally charged and make sure it didn't get acrimonious. Anyway, I think the group is in agreement to restrain Auchs for now and keep trying to pick off bandits!

DM, would you allow a Coup de Grace non-lethal? I've saw many GM's allow it, like a knockout punch, but thought it was better to ask before anything else.

Yep!

I believe we are waiting... Cass' last post is pretty straightforward in our intentions I guess.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Had some trouble with Roll20 hanging when I tried to enter the map, then got sidetracked with work - sorry 'bout that.

Telmarni |

Erm, well that helps me a little bit I guess. This Halloween is busy for me, since I work with Lyft. So no problem, just blame it on ghosts and goblins of the season.

I've been looking at the map trying to find a cleaver way to face this encounter but found no nice ideas so far... if we enter Through the north entry to face the four bandits, we'll probably wake up the one asleep unless we miraculously are able to finish all of them in a heartbeat.
We'd also draw the attention of those posted on the watch towers and we'll be effectively trapped inside...
On the other hand, we can try our luck on the second floor first, perhaps eliminating the guards on the watch towers... with a bit of luck and readied attacks, we could possibly bring one down before the others notice it if there is only a single one in each tower. Thoughts?

DM Jesse Heinig |

Note that you could climb the stairs up to the second floor. You're not yet sure how many are up there, of course.

Cassandra Lupin |

Cass could also sweep around to the other side and maybe scare the horses enough for them to bolt. That'd draw a few away. Also curious about where the bear is. Could free it and let it do some work for us.

Cassandra Lupin |

Jeez. Smart path or cool path here guys.

Korinne Bryden |
Ooh...hard choice! The part of me that loves shenanigans and hijinks votes for the cool path to sow some chaos, but I can also see how and why we'd want to be smart here since we're clearly outnumbered. Based on how Cass has acted up to this point I'd say that this is one case where letting the animals (or at least the bear) strike back would appeal to her despite her usual caution - but that's just my read of your character :)
Either way our luck sneaking around can't hold forever so we'll probably need to do something very soon.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Our first post was Nov. 2, 2015, so this game has survived for a full year! Congratulations, ladies!
For recognition of everyone hanging in there and being great role-players and general good sports, have a 1,000 xp party-wide bonus!
Level 4 is getting closer! Only 9,000 xp! Just defeat the Stag Lord...

Cassandra Lupin |

Imma seduce the enemy.

Cassandra Lupin |

I know that was supposed to be funny but now I wonder if there is some shifter feat or ability that gives fish-like qualities. Swim speed, gills, water sight, etc.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Basically you'd have to be a shark-shifter.

Korinne Bryden |
Thanks Cass! Normally I wouldn't have done that but Korinne is just the character of mine that would and I couldn't resist.
In other news, I was approached to bring in a replacement character to a different KM game that's also more or less at this same point in Book 1. Pitched a few character ideas including one that would've been Bokken's half-elf daughter and for giggles, a kobold. Everyone including the GM liked the idea so I guess I'll be playing a Sootscale kobold now :3

DM Jesse Heinig |

I will be camping and out of contact this weekend. Back Monday!

DM Jesse Heinig |

If Telmarni is unresponsive we can have the group figure out her contributions for the time being.

DM Jesse Heinig |

I pinged Tel's player just to alert that Telmarni will be on bot status until a return to activity is possible.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Telmarni's player replied. I'll be botting Tel for this combat. The player also indicated that (s)he might not be able to return to the game. If that happens then we'll figure out new recruitment after the fortress segment concludes.

Cassandra Lupin |

Did we loose Kavalina too? Is that who we are waiting on? I really don't want this game to fall apart just before the end of book one.

DM Jesse Heinig |

So, Kava's prior account was banned. (S)he made a new account, but Paizo is pretty aggressive about finding alts of banned people and banning them too.
I'm going to commence botting for this encounter.

Yeah, it seems her second account was also banned... I believe we won't see her again, since as soon as she pops in any of her games, she'll probably get banned once more.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Hrm. I don't know of a way to tell if a particular account is banned, is there something in the profile that you can look up?

As far as I know, it isn't written anywhere, but if you take a look at her profile, you'll see that it is impossible to send her (or any alias in both her accounts) a PM or add her in your address book.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Been super busy and arranging the botting is gonna mean I have to block out a good chunk of time for next update, so likely will be able to get rolling tomorrow.

DM Jesse Heinig |

I'm in this weird spot where I usually only have a few minutes of time here and there through the day, so PBP is a great format to play, but harder when I'm starting to manage stuff with maps and controlling lots of characters. So, running games is occasionally a bit tough that way. Happy to keep you in the loop, of course.

In the games I GM in these boards, I've created a different alias for each game, and use the alias profile as a quick place for me to put a not-finished-yet post. This way I can make a 'big update' in small intervals.
Not trying to push you at all, just a friendly tip!

Cassandra Lupin |

Hope those little bits add up to a lot or something changes soon (relatively speaking), because the AP only gets more complicated as we go. We can take some of that load or skip the kingdom building all together but its not going to get easier, that is for sure. You probably already know this but just thought I'd reiterate. Wish you the best.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Kingdom stuff is just spreadsheets. Tracking combat with battlemaps on Roll20 is a bit more intensive.

Cassandra Lupin |

We have very different skill sets then. I could get lost in those numbers.

DM Jesse Heinig |

Battlemaps aren't hard, just time-consuming. Also when I'm at a location with limited internet access, or forced to use my tablet, they're really difficult to edit.
I use spreadsheets at work (I'm a game designer, after all), so I'm pretty used to them.
