Huh, yeah - I'd say so. Still a few levels before you can take advantage of that last bit, but Drosil (assuming he survives - there've been a couple of close calls lately) would potentially be able to take advantage of a shaken status when he gets Shatter Defenses.

B'yelka Morfaine |

or this, in conjunction with Blistering Invective?
Disheartening Display (Combat)Your show of prowess further demoralizes others.
Prerequisites: Dazzling Display, Weapon Focus, base attack bonus +6, proficiency with chosen weapon.
Benefit: When you successfully use Dazzling Display against any shaken, frightened, or panicked opponents, their fear increases by one step. An already panicked creature demoralized by this feat cowers. Once affected by this feat, a creature cannot be affected by it again (by you or anyone else) for 24 hours.

Drosil the Grey |

I think both, eventually, but Disheartening Display won't be quite as useful without Dazzling Display being something less than a full-round action.

Dantrian Almaeus |

Let's also hope that future installments of the campaign feature foes that aren't all undead or constructs who can actually be demoralized.
But yeah, I think the first feat you mentioned will synergize pretty well with Drosil's aim for Shatter Defenses. I'm less convinced of the worth in the Disheartening Display though.

Just wanted to give a head's up! I am going to the field for just less than two weeks. I am a signal weenie, so I *should* have internet late tomorrow afternoon, but we will see how 'fast' it is...
If I do not respond, please bot me with out delay. You know B'yelka will most likely do something that makes someone else better :) Hurray for Buff Bots :p

B'yelka Morfaine |

I have a break from the field! However, with that good news, I have some bad news... apparently someone somewhere has decided Paizo should be a blocked site. I sometimes hate having a 'geek' or niche hobby, if I were a football nut, I'd never lack for ESPN... :/
So, I am going to try my best to get access as I can but we will see. I know I will have access Sat/Sun, but limited again come Monday...

You're talking just while deployed, right? I'd hate to lose B'Yelka due to Uncle Sam's anti-gamer prejudices.

I want to point out that you guys might want to start checking things for traps. Or establish a standard operating procedure for my to apply if it's too annoying to post perceptions over and over.
The air elemental and the erinyes were both traps.
Referring back to all the crap in the G rooms...there is a lot of stuff that might have value, but you'd have to haul it all away. It's not like single items but rather "this collection of wine is worth X", "This set of plates and silvewear is worth X". It's the kind of stuff you grab on the way out.
A) because you wouldn't be able to move properly under the weight.
B) because you'll probably know what happened to the Count by then, and whether it's appropriate to rob him blind or not.

I lived in Germany when I was in grade school (dad in the USAF), took a couple of school trips to the Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt. I probably didn't appreciate it as much as I could have, in retrospect. Regardless, though, have a fun time!

Tibideau Maroon LeClerc |

Hey everyone, just wanted to apologize for my total lack of posting lately, I work at an English school and we have been having tons of stuff to do for Christmas. The last of it will be on Sunday the 22nd and then I'll have a week break, so I can do some serious posting on the 23rd.

Tibideau Maroon LeClerc |

Real talk: I have been avoiding the inevitable for a long time, but I finally decided that I need to quit this game, and all games I'm in. My work schedule changed last spring, then I started taking classes outside of work last month, and I just have no extra time to do this anymore. It seems like all I'm doing is catching up on the 30+ posts that accumulate in between the times I'm able to check the messageboards. You guys are so awesome and post so much and drive the game so well and I've basically been doing nothing. I hate to bow out of something that's been going on for 2+ years now, but I think it's for the best if you guys find another person who can actually fulfill the commitment. I'm going to miss playing with you guys a lot. Jelani said he can DMPC me for the rest of this dungeon.

DM Jelani |

I'm sad to see Tibi go, as I'm sure the others are as well. As Tibideau said, I will DMPC him until the end of this book (which is basically the end of this dungeon).
What we do after that is up to you guys. We can recruit a replacement, or we can continue on with five. If we go the replacement route, I'd prefer to ask some people I already know are good players if they have space/interest. If they all decline, we can go the public recruitment route.

Yeah real shame to see Tibi go, great character with some wonderful moments. I'll miss the interplay between you and B'yelka especially but I know how demanding on your time these games can be and I hope that sometime your schedule slows down enough that you can play again and I look forward to joining that game.

We'll miss you Tibi! As everyone is saying, you'll always be welcomed back. I really enjoyed all the extra details you put into the story, from great conversations with B'yelka to your reactions to little books and trinkets that we encountered. It really makes the story vivid and colorful.

Um, ditto what everyone else said - I don't really have anything else to add, though I definitely know how you feel. Best of luck!
Jelani - considering the difficulties we've had recently, I think we need to continue on with a 6th. I have no issues with you making requests of players you're comfortable with already.

You guys are too sweet! I really am going to miss playing with everyone. Hopefully we can play again together in the future.
Tibideau will really miss bothering Dantrian :/ I really liked how Tibideau seemed to bond with the other guys over having a good time, especially Anton. B'yelka is obviously T's #1 Fruit Fly. I am definitely going to miss coming up with names for the different lurid periodicals that Tibideau reads.

B'yelka Morfaine |

You can send those periodocals to B'yelka. I will miss having such a fun writing partner/sounding board for B'yelka.
I am very glad to hear that you are leaging us for the right reasons! Best of luck to you for the future *HUGS*

B'yelka Morfaine |

So, is Robert our new player? You have some mighty big (purple) shoes to fill! lol Welcome! :D
to Jelani: I was just re-reading the HeroPoint rules and had a question: Have any of us received HeroPoints for awesomeness in game?
Heroic Acts: Whenever a character performs an exceptionally heroic act, she can be awarded a hero point. This might include anything from slaying an evil dragon when the rest of the group has fled to rescuing townsfolk from a burning building despite being terribly wounded. It does not have to be related to combat. Convincing the reticent king to send troops to help with a bandit problem or successfully jumping a wide chasm might earn a character a hero point, depending on the circumstances. Note that a hero point should only be awarded if the PC involved did not spend a hero point to accomplish the task.

I'm working on concepts for the character I'll be playing. Right now, if Jelani will allow the classes, I'm looking at doing something from the Occult Adventures playtest since all that is really fresh in my brain. I'm thinking either an occultist or a mesmerist probably.
Failing that I'll likely go with an arcanist. What does the group feel it's weakest point is? I know you just lost your witch. Do you want another primary spellcaster? Arcane? Divine? I've got so many character ideas that being given a direction will help.

Dantrian Almaeus |

Welcome to the team!
I think our most difficult times have been battles when we're stuck at range. Anton's saved our collective bacons twice now with some nigh-unto-miraculous bow-work, but we've been on the brink of disaster a number of times now.
We do lack a dedicated arcane caster, which I think could lead to some considerable difficulties down the road, but we've done pretty well so far without a full divine caster too - so who knows.
Between Janos and Dantrian, Knowledge (nature) is pretty well covered, but the other knowledge skills, particularly arcana and religion, are now definitely lacking with Tibideau's departure.
Not sure how much that helps narrow things down for you =P

B'yelka Morfaine |

Right now what we have is a group of solid damage dealers buffed by a dedicated support bard. You are right, Divine, Ranged and Arcane are our hole. Anton is a good archer, but he is only one character! :D
Keep in mind that Jelani has stated that Guns are common! (ie, They are a Martial Weapon, not exotic :) )
I think *regardless* of your class/mechanics the bigger issue is making sure your new fits in and improves the story :D

DM Jelani |

I regret that gun thing now. After having a couple more years experience DMing with guns since I made that choice, I now know how much they change the game. Never missing really makes a huge difference, especially if you have the feats and stuff to reload as a free action.
So. No, guns are not common any more. And potentially alchemical cartridges don't exist either. Have to think about that one.
I don't want a repeat of the beast that was Liette, Rob :P
If you ever dip something w/ martial B'yelka, I'll let you give up your martial prof for firearm prof.
