DM Immortal |

Sounds good Variel, just trying to figure it out. The attack does crit so 37 damage, not bad!
Flynn, no the fireball didn't punch a hole in the ship but there are a few sections of that room that are on fire that need to be put out. Also the 6d6 comes from the Rod of Wonder table so it's not based on her level.

Horatio Flynn |

Flynn, no the fireball didn't punch a hole in the ship but there are a few sections of that room that are on fire that need to be put out. Also the 6d6 comes from the Rod of Wonder table so it's not based on her level.
Can I get more specifics on the damage to the ship that need extinguishing? As in; if I need to put out a fire to keep the ship from sinking/floundering in a round or something I will do so - but I kind of need to know location and size. Also, regarding that, neither I nor Amen-set have any spell to combat fire, so I think that could be a big problem very soon, unfortunately - that being the case, the more specific the information is about the parts of the ship that are now on fire the better.
Also, I'm heading out to work again in a few minutes - the streets are still terrible so wish me luck and I'll have something up when I get home tonight!

Dhaavan |

can't move tokens on the map till I'm home but want to post an action
Dhaavan moves to K:16, Hounds, to the other room guard the stair
The hounds move to L:10, M:10, and N:10 and ready actions to attack and Dhaavan readies an action to fire a scorching Ray at the first foe he sees to come out of the cabin

DM Immortal |

Sorry flynn, the chairs and table are on fire and if left will spread. They could easily be put out with a blanket or cloak as two full round actions for one person or 1 full round action for two people.

Rain Taneththir |

I moved you and the hellhounds on the map, Dhaavan.
Rain, through their mental link, instructs Neko, //Protect the Wheel. Attack any who would take our ship.//
Then heeding Variel's call of a skeletal foe, flies to the other ship (to L:13) and remains flying 25ft in the air and waits, magical pike in hand. Hold action for now.
Fly to Hover (DC 15): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
"Can anyone discern the creature's strengths and weaknesses?"
Sorry, no Know. Planes.
Current Status: 1 out of 5 Mythic Points used. Animal Focus changed to Falcon: +4 to Perception, 1st level ranger spell (4 mins duration): Lead Blades, Full HP.

Anasrianna |

Anasrianna seeing that the enemies on deck have been taken care of, goes below with Flynn and Amen to see if they require assistance. Seeing the damage she immediately creates a rolling sphere of churning water that quenches the flames immediately.

Neko the Golden |

//Alright. I will protect.// Neko returned via the mental link.
Neko then moved 25-30 ft to the Wheel F:21 or F:22 (not sure where the Wheel is actually located on the map) and readied a bite attack against enemy any who would approach.
Readied Bite Attack on Enemy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 plus trip
Current Status: Used SLA: Scorch Ray, 2 Magic Missile spells and Mage Armour (active, lasts 4 hours). Four 1st level spells remaining for the day and one 2nd level spell. Full HP. Neko's current AC is 18+4=22.

DM Immortal |

Ok I think we are in round 7. Bad guys are up.
You hear Milksop reach the crescendo of his spellcasting but you do not see what has been summoned just yet. Having finished his previous spell, Milksop launches into his next one, a considerably shorter spellcasting that is over in a matter of moments.
You do begin to hear an insane gibbering noise coming from below deck however.
I need everyone except Neko, to make 4 Will saves. This includes the hellhounds Dhaavan.
In the hold, a creature oozes out of the darkness and shoots a stream of vile fluid into Flynn's eyes. Flynn, I need a DC 20 fort save or you are blind for 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds.
At the same time the creature moves forward with impossible speed to attack Amen-set.
Bite attack on Amen-set, damage, grab roll if hit: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 1 = 181d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 1 = 17
That looks like the bite hit for 6 damage, then the grab roll also looks successful so Amen-set is grappled, unless there is some ability or other that's not on Amen's sheet that I missed.
Once I get the saves from everyone I will tell you what else happens.

Seijiro |

will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Horatio Flynn |

Ok I think we are in round 7.
Once I get the saves from everyone I will tell you what else happens.
Actually, I think it is still only Round 5. Meanwhile, no matter what Round it is, on our action the fire needed to be put out - I assume that since it was NOT put out, that it still going?
Unless you assumed that in the past 2 Rounds Horatio and Amen-set would have spent at least a Full Round action putting out the fire (round 5-6)?
Also, being that Neko is below, wouldn't that mean during the same 2 Rounds of the casting that Neko could have simply interrupted the caster with an attack or spell?
Very confused before I can make a movement/action I kind of need to know what's up with the above questions (especially concerning the fact that the ship may be sinking very quickly thanks to the Spell Fumble thing). But as I have to leave for work I'll have actions posted tonight when I get home.

Rain Taneththir |

1. Neko is not below, but at the helm of the Lady as per my last posting.
2. Ana put out the flames below deck as per the GM's DMPC posting:
Anasrianna seeing that the enemies on deck have been taken care of, goes below with Flynn and Amen to see if they require assistance. Seeing the damage she immediately creates a rolling sphere of churning water that quenches the flames immediately.

DM Immortal |

Correct Rain, the flames are out. We are in round 7. Rain, you are unaffected by the gibbering and can't be affected at all from these creatures anymore. Seijiro, Variel, Dhaavan, and all your hounds are confused, as the spell for 1 round. Rain made all saves.
Brightscale will saves: 4d20 ⇒ (8, 18, 3, 16) = 45 Confused for 1 round
Anasrianna will saves: 4d20 ⇒ (15, 8, 12, 20) = 55 made all saves.
Just adular, flynn, and amen left to roll saves.

Adular |

Even as he was swimming back, Adular finds himself assaulted by a strange gibbering....
Saves, here we go.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 +2 additional if enchantment effect
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 +2 additional if enchantment effect
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 +2 additional if enchantment effect
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 +2 additional if enchantment effect

Amen-set Neitaker |

Amen-set attempts her Willpower Saves -
Willpower Save

Willpower Save
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Willpower Save
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Willpower Save
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
She's still holding her Produce Flame fire in her hand; not sure how that will effect things...

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio does what he can to survive the attack (then the Saves - as this was a rapid attack his Archeologist attack is still in play...)
Fortitude Save
1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 = 25

Willpower Save
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19
EDIT: He only has Rage for 3 more rounds unfortunately... Need to know what happens next before I can act, though.

DM Immortal |

Everyone's actions for the confusion round.
Seijiro, Variel, Hound 1, 2, 3, Dhaavan, Brightscale, Adular, Amen, Horatio: 10d100 ⇒ (95, 68, 88, 30, 20, 17, 82, 90, 46, 52) = 588
Seijiro, you need to attack the nearest creature. Variel, deals1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 damage to yourself. Hound 1, attack nearest creature. Hound 2 does nothing but babble incoherently in abyssal. Hound 3 can act normally. Dhaavan can act normally. Brightscale will attack the nearest creature. Adular attacks the nearest creature. Amen babbles incoherently, Horatio deals 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 damage to himself.
Those are your actions for this round.
Flynn, you are good on your fort save so no blindness from the disgusting spittle.

Seijiro |

no one is near Seijiro - variel is closest but he's flying in the air... Seijiro can start climbing toward him this round, but it's unlikely he could get near him. what do you suggest?

DM Immortal |

Seijiro: The nearest creature is either Variel, or one of the animated grappling hook things.
Variel: Deals 11 damage to himself
Hound 1: Attack Brightscale or Hell Hound 2
Hound 2: Babbles in Abyssal
Hound 3: Can act normally as directed by Dhaavan
Dhaavan: Can act normally
Brightscale: The nearest creature is Hound 1 or Rain
Adular: Adular the nearest creature is the alligator
Amen:Babbles incoherently
Horatio: deals 9 damage to self

Seijiro |

Seijiro leaps out of concealment and strikes at one of the animated grappling hooks (still going with the assumption that Variel is flying as he was before)
to hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 (no precision against an object I assume)

DM Immortal |

Hound 1 attacks 1d2 ⇒ 2 Brightscale
Bite attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 4 + (5) = 17 MISS

DM Immortal |

Seijiro, your attack hits but your sword clangs off without doing any damage.
You didn't make it past the hardness.

![]() |

Variel grabs his sword and smashes the hilt into his face drawing blood. Yet the pain seems to have cleared his senses as his mind clears and he looks for the bone thing that took his best shot without slowing down.
What do you have Variel at for hp right now. With the swift actions earlier I don't know if Variel took all those hits or not.

DM Immortal |

You would have at least taken the first hit so let's just go with that.

DM Immortal |

I realized I never put up the knowledge check to identify the gibbering creature. Nor did I put a description of the creatures for that matter.
The only ones that see the creature so far are Horatio and Amen, but when everyone does see the creatures they look like this.
The creature is a hideous amorphous blob of gnashing teeth of all sizes and shapes, as well as eyes of every color and style you can think of. They are constantly appearing and disappearing from within he monsters body.

Rain Taneththir |

Know. Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Rain managed not to succumb to the insane gibbering sounds coming from below the deck of the Dryad's Grave. She believed the creature who issued the maddening sound was a Gibbering Mouther.
Rain, changed her animal focus to the OWL (swift action, +4 to STEALTH) and descended 25 ft to land on the deck. As a swift action, she retracted her magical pike to normal length and then moved cautiously/quietly down the stairs to determine the situation below and provide aid to Flynn, Amen and Ana.
Stealth to move quietly down the stairs: 1d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 4 = 36
Perception below deck: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Double move this round. Rain is now below deck at R:17
Immortal, were any checks made re the Darkness Spell? If not, what do you require?
Current Status: 1 out of 5 Mythic Points used. Animal Focus changed to Owl: +4 to Stealth, 1st level ranger spell (4 mins duration): Lead Blades, Full HP.

Neko the Golden |

Neko remained a sentinel at the helm of the Lady, waiting further instruction from Rain.
Will hold action this round until she hears from Rain.
Current Status: Used SLA: Scorch Ray, 2 Magic Missile spells and Mage Armour (active, lasts 4 hours). Four 1st level spells remaining for the day and one 2nd level spell. Full HP. Neko's current AC is 18+4=22.

DM Immortal |

No checks needed for the darkness spell, it's common enough that you know what it is. Also thanks for the status updates! Those really help.

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio will try a Knowledge Check to identify the creature -
Knowledge Dungeoneering
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
EDIT: I really loathe the dice roller...
As a Free Action he calls out -
"Careful; I think it's some kind of Sahungian creature," he calls out, completely confident in his assessment of the situation.
Meantime I think that for now we're waiting on Dhaavan to act this round - then the enemy gets to go and then us again...
Horatio and Amen-set have both lost 12 HP due to fire damage.
Horatio has used Arch Luck for 4 Rounds and Rage for 3 rounds of the 7 rounds total. He has Cat's Grace for several more minutes.
Amen-set still has the Flame burning in her hand if the creature is holding her, it is holding a live flame.

Dhaavan |

Get a move on! Dhaavan snaps in infernal and the cognizant hound takes action, moving to the stairs where it's blocked by a beast in the dark
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 1d6 ⇒ 3fire
What's the hold up... Dhaavan grumbles, and reaches out into across the planes in his mind He calls forth 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 more hellhounds and orders two of them forword to attack with the other hounds
The third appears at K15 to go the other way and sees the mouther and attacks
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 1d6 ⇒ 1fire
Dhaavan follows along to see what in the nine hells is going on below decks and not wanting to get mauled by his own hounds.

DM Immortal |

The first hellhound manages to hit but you can't see from your position whether it had any effect. The second hellhound misses.
------------------------------------------
Adular attacks a passing school of fish...they are very frightened.
------------------------------------------
Round 7 continued:
The evil creatures continue to gibber madly.
You can only be affected by those against whom you failed your save. I will list how many rolls you need. Variel, Horatio, Adular, Dhaavan, Brightscale need to make one will save or be confused again. Seijiro and Amen-set need to make two saves. New hellhounds need to make 4 saves. Hellhound 2 needs to make 3 saves, hellhound 3 needs to make 2 saves. Rain does not need to save. Nor does Anasrianna.
The monstrous creature (Gibbering Mouther 2) that has Amen-set in it's clutches, spits an acidic spray into the hellhound's eyes. Ranged touch, if hit then Fort save DC 20 or be blinded: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds.
At the same time, the creature continues to grapple Amen-set, attempting to engulf her in it's mass. Grapple vs Amen CMD: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 Grapple is successful.
Flynn you see Amen-set disappear into the creature as if she were absorbed by it but you can see her thrashing and screaming within. It is a grotesque sight.
Amen also takes regular damage and 2 con damage from having her blood drained as she is inside it: 6d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 1, 2, 2) = 16 damage and 2 con drain which puts her constitution at 10 currently and losing another 5 hp from the con loss.
Since she is swallowed she can use a light slashing or piercing weapon in order to try and cut her way out.
------------------------------------------------------
Gibbering mouther 1 spits acid in an attempt to blind the hellhound as a free action. touch attack, rounds blind: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d4 ⇒ 4 rounds.
The mouther then begins it's attacks on the Hellhound in front of it. 6 attacks and damage, successful attacks also get a chance to grab: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 261d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 141d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Attack 1: Hit for 3
Attack 2: hit for 5
Attack 3: hit for 6
attack 4: miss
attack 5: miss
Attack 6: hit for 3
chance 1 to grab: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 Successful, hellhound is grappled and suffered a total of 17 damage
-----------------------------------------------------
Another globe of inky darkness engulfs the ship's interior.
-----------------------------------------------------
At the same time, a sudden miasma of sickly green mist explodes into being among you all.
I need DC 18 Fortitude saves from Amen, Horatio, Rain, Anasrianna, Dhaavan, and Amen-set or you are Nauseated as long as you remain in the cloud. If you leave the cloud while nauseated, you remain nauseated for 1d4+1 rounds.

DM Immortal |

Seijiro |

confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 14 act normally

Seijiro |

Seijiro stays on the Dread Lady for now, camouflaged and protecting the ship.

Rain Taneththir |

Fort save (DC 18) plus Mythic Surge: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (6) = 20 Success
Thankfully she was able to withstand the sickly green mist all around them before the darkness covered her spot below deck. To Flynn she advised, "It's an Aberration called a Gibbering Mouther. It confuses with sound." (Free action)
Rain swiftly changed her animal focus to that of a BEAR (+2 to Constitution) (Swift action). Being she was in darkness, she attempted to move using acrobatics so she could see the Gibbering Mouther once again.
Acrobatics to move more than half speed through darkness (DC 10) to T:17: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Holding her pike in her off hand, she began to cast. (Snowball)
Casting Defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 (Has Combat Casting feat)
A ball of packed snow and ice formed in her true hand and Rain hurled it at the creature, hoping to give Amen some time to escape its body (and making sure she does not hit the southern girl inside/escaping the creature).
Ranged Touch Attack with Snowball on Gibbering Mouther 2 who swallowed Amen-set: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Cold Damage, if hits: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 8, 5, 7) = 28
Miss Chance 50% due to fog cloud: 1d100 ⇒ 67 (1-50 misses, 51-100 hits) HIT!
If successful hit, Fort Save (DC 13) partial, or be staggered for 1 round.
Through her mental link with Neko she asked her golden cat to rally the others above to help them below. //We need help! Tell the others.//
Current Status: 2 out of 5 Mythic Points used. Animal Focus changed to Bear: +2 to Constitution (2 mins in total), 1st level ranger spell (4 mins duration): Lead Blades, 1st level Hunter Spell: Snowball (instantaneous, range 30 ft), Full HP.

Neko the Golden |

Neko hears Rain's warning and issues a telepathic message to all the officers at once,
//Rain and others in trouble. Go help below! I stay; guard.//
Neko remains at the helm for now (as instructed previously) as she believes the other officers will go help Rain.
Current Status: Used SLA: Scorch Ray, 2 Magic Missile spells and Mage Armour (active, lasts 4 hours). Four 1st level spells remaining for the day and one 2nd level spell. Full HP. Neko's current AC is 18+4=22.
