Adular |

Hearing the call for healing, Adular moves to meet those in withdraw, and channels when he can, "Sorry folks, had a damn fool notion and went down the wrong way."
On his turn, move and channel, using selective to not help any foe 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 2) = 10
Thanks to "Overflowing Grace" Anyone at or healed to full hitpoints get a +1 to attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks and ability checks for 1 minute

Rain Taneththir |

I think the Gibbering Mouther 2 is dead after Dhaavan's attack as it had already taken 39 damage previous to the two scorching rays. Immortal, can you confirm this, please, before I have Rain act?
And Dhaavan, if you stand at the top of the stairs blocking the exit with the hell pup, how are Ana and Rain going to get out? ;)

Dhaavan |

THey can move through that space and have the movement to get passed Dhaavan. The hound would be following Dhaavan anyway, so it moves as far as possible, if someone else needs to stand on the stair

Horatio Flynn |

Variel, I appreciate your help - but I don't think you can hover while below decks as the ceiling will block your ability to do so.
Also, Adular, where are you standing when you used the Channel Burst?
If it is upstairs then the only person you can heal is Amen-set; if you go downstairs, then the room is pretty full, if you could indicate your coordinate on the map, that would be awesome - especially since Rain and Ana are behind a wall at this point which apparently blocks the channel burst.
Meantime, I'm late for a 14 hour shift - I'll try to get more up later, if I can.

DM Immortal |

Knowledge: Planes to Identify Creatures –

DM Immortal |

Adular I am going to need some healing soon along wit ph the others!
Hovering over the hold Variel invokes the power within him again as he flies over 5ft to target the skeletal creature. As he descends he points his hand towards the creature in the darkness as a flash of light erupts from his palm. Glove burned away the hold is now filled with a bright radiance as the beam of light flies towards the creature.
You hit him once but the fire damage seems to wash over him, doing no damage.

Brightscale |

Sensing the danger everyone is in, Brightscale crashes through the hatch to the hold and goes after the Babau.
Acrobatics to reduce damage from fall: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 131d6 ⇒ 4 Suffers 4 damage. He then moves over and attempts to bite the Babau.
Bite: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 191d8 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 17 MISS

Horatio Flynn |

Quick post from lunch -
I have no idea. I'm just trying to get as many folks as I can and I'm having trouble with maps and placement.
I understand; that makes sense...
GM: Given Adular's request to hit the most PC's as possible and his lack of access to a map, would you mind botting him to a position for him to reach the most people?
As it stands I know that I, Dhaavan and I believe Rain all need healing and we're in the hold - if you're able to move Adular to get spread the healing over us, that would be really great!
Once I know my adjusted HP I'll be ready to act.
Thanks!
EDIT: Variel - sorry; I wasn't sure what you meant via the hovering thing and was a bit confused. Thanks for the clarification :)

DM Immortal |

Ok so depending on what Adular wants to do, he can either go into the hold and get Dhaavan, Flynn, Ana, and Rain...or he can be up on deck and get Variel, Amen, Seijiro, and Ana based upon where he would be positioned. Due to the walls of the ship and staircase and whatnot, those are the only groups he can get so it is up to him which way he wants to go.

DM Immortal |

Flynn, Ana, Rain, and Dhaavan, get 10 hp back. Adular, I moved you on the map.

Rain Taneththir |

Just waiting to see which areas are lit up by Variel's daylight spell per his hands (and how much darkness has been removed). Immortal will update map after putting the kids to bed. Will try and post Rain's action (and Neko's) before my afternoon meeting.

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio will stuff his pistols in his belt; cast “Cure Light Wounds” on himself and then move to T:10 to support Ana's friend -
Cure Light Wounds –
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
EDIT: That now puts Horatio to 43/61.

Amen-set Neitaker |

Amen-set will convert her "Air Bubble Spell" to a "Cure Light Wound Spell" and attempts to regain some health of her own -
Cure Light Wound Spell
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
EDIT: Amen-set now has 23/43 HP now.
Also, I believe she can see Horatio from the upper deck as Variel put a whole in the Main Deck, correct?

DM Immortal |

Ok so by my reading of daylight and darkness, you can use the daylight spell as a dispel when cast on an area of darkness...that is different than Variel's hands which radiate light as a daylight spell so here is my ruling on it. The light from variel's hands will suppress areas of darkness that the area of effect overlaps with as I have shown on the map by removing a section of the darkness that is overlapping with Variels light emanation.

Rain Taneththir |

Thanks for the clarification re the daylight range, Immortal.
Acrobatics to move more than half speed through darkness (DC 10): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Rain managed to move successfully through the darkness into the open light and stopped ten feet from Flynn. (Currently at T:12 below deck). She could see a much larger Variel hovering in the air above her, through the open hatch and she was grateful for his presence, too.
With Brightscale's bulky form in the way, Rain readied herself to strike out viciously at any enemy, extended pike in hand, in case one of the Gibbering Mouthers or Babau managed to slip past and come at her or Flynn.
Readied Two Handed Mythic Power Attack with magical pike (20 ft) with lead blades and Mythic Surge: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 2 + (5) = 22 (Add +1 if it's the Babau)
Damage, if hits: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 3) + 12 = 17 (Add +1 if it's the Babau)
Reflex Save in case Rain hits the Babau instead to save her melee weapon from acid damage (DC 18): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Current Status: 3 out of 5 Mythic Points used. Animal Focus changed to BULL: +2 to Strength (2 mins in total), 1st level ranger spell (4 mins duration): Lead Blades, 1st level Hunter Spell: Snowball (instantaneous, range 30 ft), Freebooter's Bane activated on skeletal creature, Full HP.
Please remember that Rain activated Freebooter's Bane on the Babau last round, so it's a +1 to hit and damage. Thanks.

Neko the Golden |

Neko, tired of waiting for her mistress by the Wheel, and watching as her betrothed had enlarged himself, made swiftly for the other ship, stopping by the hatch/opening and peering down (Double move to J:11). It was then she heard the maddening sounds.
Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 (Success)
Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (Fail)
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 38 (Does nothing but babble incoherently)
Neko managed to withstand one but not the other. She began to growl and fuss incoherently to herself.
(Not sure if she needed to make the two will saves due to the two current gibbering mouthers and their positions, but posted them just in case. Please ignore if Neko is unaffected at this point.)
Current Status: Used SLA: Scorch Ray, 3 Magic Missile spells and Mage Armour (active, lasts 4 hours). Three 1st level spells remaining for the day and one 2nd level spell. Full HP. Confusion: Babbling. Neko's current AC is 18+4=22

Horatio Flynn |

She did have to make two. Thanks Rain.
I believe it's now your move, GM...
Quick Side Question - is anyone able to stand on the stairs at U:8 and still attack the Babuu? Not sure how that will work...

Horatio Flynn |

Though he had moved forward to aid Brightscale a sudden thought occurred to Horatio and he calls out as a Free Action
"Brighscale - see if you can lure that thing out so we can flank it!" he calls to the dinosaur.
As he casts a glance aft toward Variel, he yells out to the Elf -
"Oye! You think you can Enlarge me, too?" he cries out.
GM: On a completely unrelated note to that Enlarging Spell question Horatio just asked Variel - where exactly did that Satyr creature drop the Enchanted +1 Double Hackbut?
Just curious is all... At this point I think it's still your turn, though :)

DM Immortal |

Not from there. They couldn't.
You see some movement from the mouthers as they make their way up the stairs. But they stop at the top.
The Babau, attacks Brightscale viciously.
Bite, Claw, Claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 211d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 301d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 321d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 All hit for 34 damage.
After the attack, the Babau fades out of existence. Not going invisible more like the summon spell ran out.
Immediately after the Babau fades out, Milksop comes from around the corner and casts a spell. Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 Successful
A foul, yellowish-green poisonous looking cloud springs into being in the hold of the ship and overlapping onto the deck above. The miasma causes all within it to choke and wheeze as they feel their very life being drained away. The cloud seems to be moving very slowly towards the prow of the ship.
Constitution Damage Fortitude save DC 20 for half constitution damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
These are the people in the area of effect and need to make a save for half damage. Brightscale, Flynn, Rain, Ana, Variel if he is hovering less than 15', Seijiro, Dhaavan (the area is weird because you're on the top of the stairs and the fog flows down as it is heavier than air.
This functions as a Fog Cloud as well so you can't see very well, within 5' is 20% concealment, more than 5' and you can't see at all, so total concealment 50%.

![]() |

fort save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 success takes only 1 con damage equivalent of 7 hp of damage.
Where is Milksop on the map? I don't see him but from the description it sounds like he should be visible now even if concealed by the fog. At least Variel would spy him to know which direction to go towards.
Flynn once I know if Milksop is visible I will consider enlarging you. As it is I want to focus on Milksop first. the mouthers will fade away in time as well so not concerned about those either.

DM Immortal |

Sorry, forgot to remove the transparency. You should be able to see him now on the map.

DM Immortal |

Adular moves to follow the others, only to see an unnatural mist laid down, "Well, this is just plum."
Can Adular heal Dhaavan again without getting into the spell effects?
Only if you do a channel as you can't see him through the fog.

Dhaavan |

1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20+2 if poison
Dhaavan leaves the cloud and moves around the area of effect to summon
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Hounds
They then unleash flaming blasts at the Glibberers
DC16: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
charge in 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
DC16: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
charge in 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

Seijiro |

fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 that's 3 con damage... ouch
Seijiro steps out of the cloud, coughing and choking...

Neko the Golden |

Will save against Mouthing Gibberer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 83 : Attacks nearest creature to protect itself.
(At this stage, I'm not sure who is invisible or camouflaged or whatnot. So Neko either attacks Dhaavan or Jiro. Sorry, guys.)
Bite attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Misses.
Still confused by the horrible sounds coming from one of the Gibbering Mouthers, Neko is disoriented and attacks one of her closest allies, but fortunately for them her bite doesn't find mark.
Current Status: Used SLA: Scorch Ray, 3 Magic Missile spells and Mage Armour (active, lasts 4 hours). Three 1st level spells remaining for the day and one 2nd level spell. Full HP. Confusion: Attack nearest ally. Neko's current AC is 18+4=22

Rain Taneththir |

The yellow-green cloud surrounds her in the hold and Rain tries to hold her breath, but it is too potent and she breathes some in.
Fort save (DC 20): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 That's 3 CON damage and 14 hp down. :/
Not being able to do anything in the hold in her depleted state and the obscuring fog, Rain unfurls her wings and flies up through the small-medium opening at the side of the enlarged Variel and lands, pike in hand, at L:6, and casts a healing spell on herself. She swiftly changes her animal focus to BEAR (+2 to CON) to help her until her animal focus ability runs out (2 mins duration all up).
CLW on Rain: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Move action: Fly 40 ft to L:6
Standard action: Cast CLW on herself.
Current Status: 3 out of 5 Mythic Points used. Animal Focus changed to BEAR: +2 to CON (2 mins in total), 1st level ranger spell (4 mins duration): Lead Blades, 1st level Hunter Spell: Snowball (instantaneous, range 30 ft) and CLW (on Rain), 58/63 HP, 3-2=1 CON damage, Fort save +7 until animal focus expires.

Calling out to Flynn Not right now Horatio. It wouldn't help anyways as Milksop is in too confined a space.

Horatio Flynn |

Flynn once I know if Milksop is visible I will consider enlarging you. As it is I want to focus on Milksop first. the mouthers will fade away in time as well so not concerned about those either.
No worries - actually I planned on using it on the Babuu thing because I thought it was like a Cohort to Milksop and I didn't count on it being summoned. Now that it's "pouffed" out of existence, I'm less worried about the Hackbut at this point.
However, the map is a trifle confusing; I don't really understand the double set of stairs by Milksop...
GM: Is Horatio able to stand at either U:8 or V:8 and be able to reach/attack Milksop - I'm mainly asking because I'm not entirely sure about the way the stairs and the cabin walls.
Meanwhile, here is his Fortitude Save to resist the gas:
1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 1 = 26
EDIT: Looks like it succeeds!
Once I know more about the map, I'll act :)

![]() |

My guess is the stairs go down to another level horatio. That us why there are 2 sets of them.

Rain Taneththir |

Seeing that Rain is up top with him and looking better than he is Variel breathes a sigh of relief. I had hoped you were safe and glad to see you topside Rain. It warms my heart to see you safe.
Looking across to her betrothed, she gave him a swift smile and replied, "That cloud did its intended damage, A'maelamin. Let us end Milksop swiftly!" (Free action)

Horatio Flynn |

My guess is the stairs go down to another level horatio. That us why there are 2 sets of them.
Very likely - but I need to know if I can walk horizontally on the line U so I can move "through" Brightscale's space and end up on U:7 and attack the guy or U:8 and attack - but can I move there? If the stairs on U:8 do lead down, can I attack him while in the stairwell, and if I move OVER the stairs to end up on U:7 will that require some kind of roll or something? Not entirely sure - but if Brightscale can attack in his position, then who knows?
Sorry for the confusion but the location of walls/doors and relative stair-wells make it a bit tricky to plan a strategy yet; but we'll see what happens next!

DM Immortal |

I'll mark off solid walls on the map for clearer reference. The ship has four total levels. The fore and sterncastle are the highest level. The main deck is next. The fore and stern areas in the hold are raised and then the hold is the very lowest level. The stairs go down to the hold at V8 and up to the main deck at U8. Black lines around the stairs are solid walls. Each set of stairs goes up 5'. In short, no you can't go down the U Axis but you can move to V8 and be on the stairs and attack up at him.

Amen-set Neitaker |

Amen-set points her hand at Horatio and another beam of holy fire rushes toward him -
Holy Light -
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2) = 13
EDIT: It strikes Horatio and up Horatio's HP is now 56/61.
Then she moves back to avoid the heavy looking fog to K:18...

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio looks at the wily ship’s captain and draws his Agile Rapier and then he moves to V:8 and uses Power Attack to attack the enemy –
Attack with Agile Rapier –
1d20 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 25
IF it hits –
1d6 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 5 + 4 = 14
EDIT: I'm really hoping that hits, and if it does, that's a total of 14 Damage...
Also, as I'm on the stairway is it possible for me to be able to see anything in the hold below me?
Horatio's current HP: 56/61.
Current AC: 21 and 16 Touch.
That said -
Horatio stares at Milksop with a dark light in his eyes.

Anasrianna moves back with Adular, the darkness not bothering her darkvision.
Knowledge Arcana to identify fog spell: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Ana yells out It's a Cloudkill spell! Stay out of it at all costs!
With that she casts a spell and a vertical wall of rushing air springs into being, blocking the gas from progressing any further.

Brightscale |

Brightscale roars in anger and lashes out at Milksop with Claws and bite.
Brightscale Claw on Milksop: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 12 + 1 - 2 = 122d6 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 19 FUMBLE! ...and the fumble card is....holy crap...Fist Meets Face...The attack hits you and is a critical threat. You must roll to confirm the critical hit.
Brightscale Claw crit confirm on Brightscale...I can't believe I just wrote that lol: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 1 - 2 = 292d6 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 21 omg...critical hit is successful.
I think I just killed my own animal companion lol. So that is 40 damage. Brightscale had already suffered 44 and 3 con damage so he is at -36 hp.
The only one that can really see what happened is Horatio. Brightscale lashed out with a claw at Milksop over Horatio's head but hits the roof above which deflects it's claw across his own throat, severing his carotid artery. Arterial spray splashes over Horatio, soaking him in blood. Brightscale falls to the ground with a loud thud.

Next Round
The cloud begins to move towards the starboard side and stern of the ship, rolling slowly in that direction. The fog pours down the stairs and over the side of the ship on the deck above. On the deck below, it begins to pool in the lowest level of the ship.

Upon the Gibbering Mouther's demise, Neko was free of the effect of its sounds and the golden cat's mind was clear from the confusion which plagued it earlier.
Yet, with all the ice and snow that fell down upon her, Neko suffered a great deal of damage (7/28 HP) and she sent a pain-filled telepathic message to her mistress, Rain, //Very hurt. Withdraw to Lady. Will help if I can.// (Free action)
And with that, Neko crossed ships, using the gangplank, and licked at her wounds but remained low/hidden and on the ready for any who would come to attack her anew. Going into Total Defence as a standard action: she gets a +4 dodge bonus to her AC for 1 round.
