Let's use this forum to finish the kinks in the character creation. If you all want to modify backstories to make them sync better, then go ahead.

Let's plan on giving everyone until Wednesday to get their characters finalized and then we will begin.


Sweet. Thanks for choosing me. Will create a alias tonight. I decided not to go dual cursed. Mainly because it doesn't allow the extra class skills, several of which i want. And im thinking the haunted curse might fit better... what do people reckon? Silent to all spells is pretty good though.


I should have him completed before to long.


Well. Guess I better get on the alias. You were looking at dark tapestry mystery, yeah? I personally like the fluff for deaf, since that would make our characters mesh really well, but haunted certainly fits with your "dark powers from beyond the stars" motif.


Yea dark tapestry. I think both curses fit so well. Why dual cursed has to take away the bonus class skills beats me. Im thinking just going deaf curse and rp'ing the haunted as voices that talk to Liante.


Those abilities certainly don't look like they need balancing.

Repentance, so if you take the deaf curse we all need to take drow sign language right?

With seven PCs I figured taking an animal companion was just one body too many, but after seeing the class composition, I'm wondering if it might be a good move after all. What's everyone else think?

Can we use Stone Arrows? That gets me 80 arrows for 1GP...


Something big and fearsome would probably help. We got a fighter and the next best melee combatant would be me as a kensai. :/ I see a lot of ambushes and subterfuge in our future, which, is of course, perfect since we're drow anyway.

Uhm... I was planning a Ranged Fighter... Though I guess I could re-spec my Feats for a Finesse Build. Maybe TWF with Twin Gladius...

Could I use Exiles Stolen Treasure to get a Matched Set of Gladius?

What are your rules on crafting, Gray? Just curious, as I may take some crafting feats later (Possibly even Craft Construct,). And what about Fleshcrafting? I would LOVE to fleshcraft creatures! I am a deranged alchemist after all! :P

At the very bottom of here.

They are technically a primitive weapon and I think a fitting option for a Drow as they are surrounded by stone.


Aundrak: Stone arrows would just be stone tipped arrows. The shafts would just be hardened giant mushroom stalks (the underdark's answer to wood). I don't really see the benefit but if you want go ahead.

Quindavotos: see Binding Outsiders for special rules on binding and true names. See also the True Name Arcane Discovery for another application. True names can also be used in some very limited cases but those are more plot points than actual rules. Binding can work both ways too (cutting deals with outsiders can seem like a good idea but not always).

Shelquet: I use the crafting rules in PRD. Unique or special magic items will be adjudicated on a case by case basis. I encourage crafting feats and using them to upgrade equipment. I have used a reward called residium in the past to represent broken down magic items power. Essentially, a person with a crafting feat can perform a ritual whereby a magic item is destroyed and the character gains 1/2 the market price of the item in residium (which can be used to pay component costs of spells as well as costs to create other magic items).

Liante: The house name is Vytharia; however, that is not a safe name for you at the start as your enemies would hunt any survivors of your house if they new you still lived.

So, is Fleshcrafting off limits? I would love to turn some helpless victim, I mean... willing volunteer into a fleshwarped minion! ;)

Will finish the character once I get some brunch (That's the official term when you have a meal around noon that replaces breakfast and lunch. Some people actually don't know that! D: ).


Vrek appears to be the only Chaotic Evil member of the family. I'll play that up more as fun loving and whimsical (in very dark ways) rather than too rebellious I think.


Liante: I don't see your question about dual curse in this thread. Please repost or restate it.

Shelquet: This is the only thing I could find in the PRD about fleshcrafting. I remember the 3.x versions but I never really cared for them. So, I'm not saying no to it being available in the future but I don't have anything right now.

Ridge: I like the dark, fun loving CE approach. Sounds like it should be a good time.

So Dual-Cursed archetype says you don't get bonus class skills from your mystery(my problem). Dark tapestry normally gives Disguise, intimidate, Arcana and stealth. All four of which are skills I want. I think dual cursed Deaf and Haunted would be fitting for Liante. I was wondering if you would allow me to have those class skills or not if I went dual cursed archetype.

About to add my equipment and finish the character. Was busy Christmas shopping and I think I have influenza. Shouldn't affect my posting rate, it just hiccuped yesterday.

The name is pronounced Shell-Ket, so it should be fairly simple to remember!
