Leiafosaith, in the old tongue, means ‘least of seven.’ Leiaf was born last of divine septuplets, marked for greatness among his people, but he was the smallest of his siblings – slow of wit, feeble of mind and weak of body when compared to his six brothers and sisters. His siblings spent as much time tormenting him as they did defending him from others not of the family. It was only the double edged blessing and curse placed upon them all by their mother that allowed him to survive to adulthood in the brutal arena of drow culture. That, and a preternatural sense of when to run and hide.
Leiaf spent much of his childhood hiding in the darkest places, nursing his bruised body and ego. Those hidden grottos and crevices became his domain, where he and he alone ruled. Yes, his subjects were grubs and spiders and blind skinks, but he discovered a beauty and power there that became his alone.
Since the septuplets have been banished to Vothys, Leiaf find that his skills are called upon more and more by his siblings to survive and prosper in this exile frontier He relishes the chance to live up to their expectations while at the same time still resenting them for their superiority.
