The Kitchen Round 1
Braelex, Aidon, Andel, Swarm, Relan, Amiculus, Fulmen, Vuloo (no one will be flatfooted)
Fulmen walks down to check the noise in the far oven. As he gets close the door explodes open and a cascade of 2-foot long centipedes tumbles out. They burst from the cracks and the holes in the wall an floor forming a giant mass that washes towards him.

Usually i seem ineffective against swarms. Just holding off to see wht the fire bomb did. Can i try and defend Fulmen with my shield?
I believe there's a feat that allows you to shield-defend someone else. I don't think you can use the aid other action for defense. Anyone else see that differently?
I've been tied up more than I thought this weekend with Holly's house in Kansas City. I'll get a first round out soon. Braelex's bomb will do a lot of damage but will not destroy the swarm

The Kitchen Round 1
Braelex, Aidon, Andel, Swarm, Relan, Amiculus, Fulmen, Vuloo
As the swarm of centipedes forms, Braelex gets the jump on it and tosses a fiery bomb into the mass hitting it square and killing 100s of the centipedes. The swarm holds though and advances on Fulmen.
Aidon hangs back as his eagles and Andel move forward. The eagles swoop down picking up individual centipedes in their beaks but ineffectually causing major damage. Andel positions himself behind Relan and watches as the swarm flows over Fulmen.
Fulmen takes Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 points of damage + must make a DC13 Fortitude save or be nauseated and a DC13 Fortitude save or be poisoned taking 1d4 ⇒ 1 Dex damage
Fulmen and Vuloo swat and shoot uselessly at the swarm, their weapons causing no damage.
Relan's action? Plus Fulmen can move if he wishes to

Braelex |

Braelex frowns as the surviving centipedes overrun Fulmen. She takes up another explosive grenade and hurls it carefully into the mass, trying to use precision to keep Fulmen out of the flames.
Bomb (ranged touch): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10; Fire Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5) + 3 = 13

Amiculus isn't that strong. Nothing to knock over next to the swarm.
The Kitchen Round 2
Braelex, Aidon, Andel, Swarm, Relan, Amiculus, Fulmen, Vuloo
Braelex chucks another bomb but it slips out of her hand and drops a few feet in front of her exploding in a hail of fire across her and Relan. (Both take 5 fire damage, reflex save for half. Braelex knows the DC)
Aidon scurries about looking for some way to help while Andel sets up and unleashes a flurry of shards from his instrument. The centipedes part when the cone shoots forward and avoid the damage.
Chord of Shards Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Swarm Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21; success!
o.O ... it's at this point I realize that Fulmen still hasn't posted his action or saves. Stand by for more

The swarm waves forward, centipedes crawling over centipedes in swells, following Fulmen who had fled the round before. It senses new prey and the crawl and bite on Aidon and Relan.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Make a DC13 Fort save or be nauseated
Make another DC13 Fort save or take 1d4 ⇒ 4 Dex damage from poison
Relan tries to defend against the swarm and realizes his shield and sword are futile ... (You can still move or act if you wish, depending on your fort saves above)
Amiculus attempts to lift the cave fisher but is unable to do so.
Fulmen continues to flee as Vuloo establishes a lifelink with him. (unless you wish to establish it with someone else)
Relan action this round, everyone else for next round

Seeing Fulmen fleeing, Vuloo establishes the lifelink with Relan on Round 1. On Round 2 he will set up a second lifelink with Aidon.

Braelex |

Braelex steps away from the swarm and carefully (and hesitantly) tosses another bomb its way. With a little more precision this time, she carefully excludes her companions from burning.

You throw a pebble into the water and it enters and gets wet like any other stone.
Torture Chamber
Stairs descend into the room from the north, a heavy stone door blocks passage to the west, and an eastern corridor exits between cells blocked by doors of rusty iron bars. Scattered about the room are a number of instruments of torture from bygone days, now mostly gone to rot and ruin.
The southern cell’s occupant is long dead, his bones crumbled to dust, but the northern cell is occupied. It holds a single creature—a deformed, vaguely human-shaped monster. Once it sees you it flies into a furious frenzy—throwing itself against the cell’s bars in a futile attempt to escape.
Main Storeoom
Ancient shelves hold only the dust of whatever foodstuffs were once stored here. In the alcoves to the south, iron hooks for hanging meats dangle from the ceiling.
Empty Barracks
This room seems to have once served as guard barracks, but the beds and other furniture here have long since crumbled into almost unrecognizable ruins. There are stairs leading down to the south.

Vuloo stays well clear of the beast in the torture chamber, "Foul beast. Someone must be feeding this thing to keep it alive. Should we kill it? I would hate to have to deal with it outside of the cage."
Vuloo will spend a couple of minutes looking for secret doors or anything else of interest in each of the rooms.

To Fulmen, "Let's descend. The more interesting artifacts will be further down. I must confess, I'm really excited to have the opportunity to exploring such ancient Thassilonian ruins. It's like going back a 1000 years in time. Who knows what secrets we will uncover?"
