We all, myself included, need to minimize posts between rounds. Move questions here. Much of the confusion comes from me hunting for the right post and making a mistake.

Reiterating and reinforcing my rule starting now. 1 post after a round per character unless I specifically allow more.

I wanted to say thank you to those of you who did and/or are currently serving in our armed forces. Thank you very much for your sacrifices.


Nemoris, while I understand you could have shot them from 400 feet, when the discussion about the approaching stampede was coming on, there was no discussion of looking for something to shoot ... i.e. flying up above or to see what was chasing. It was all about getting out of the way.


Totally unrelated: playing Pillars of Eternity and Divinity: Original Sin right now. Some of the best RPGs I've ever played and they're old school, iso (Baldur's Gate-style) ones.

Thanks to Kam and Ben for turning me on to Pillars of Eternity ... so good. (and hard)


Dalamus ... Unless you tell.me.exactly where you're moving too, you will need to move yourself.

Epik, they are a long ways off ... 150 feet or so, even with charge, probably not a 1 round thing.

Sam, I'm not sure what you're asking or what you did that required asking ... you posted for last rounds' attacks that you missed, correct?

I don't have a problem with that ... it's what I was asking you to do, maybe I was unclear.

Pillars is really a ton of fun. I was sidetracked by Dying Light and now The Witcher 3 but I am planning on getting back to it asap.

For those who liked the original Fallout, Wasteland 2 is everything it was and more. Made by the original team if I recall.


Playing Wasteland 2 as well ... on hard, so I get slaughtered all the time. Angela Deth just left me forever so I'm feeling a little f'd right now.

I remember Wasteland on the old C-64 back in the day. Lots of easter eggs from that game.


You guys are killing me. Magma, it's too far to move and attack.

FYI I leave on Sat for vacation. Will be in Vegas for 2 days then the Grand Canyon for 5 and will have no access to the internet at all for those days.

Sorry folks, neck deep in closing on a house, and moving. Tomorrow is my last regular day of internet until I get all setup at the new place, supposed to be all done Friday, but who knows with the big internet companies and their terrible customer service.

Sam. Jenya's spell will go off on her initiative after surprise and after folks with higher initiative in round 1.

Can Jenya change up her spell then? I thought it would go off first since they are reacting to her action


They react to her starting to cast. I will allow a change of action since it's within the rules , although you'll have to break reality here and accept that her action that caused combat never actually came to pass because of the nature of the rules of the game.

Nope totally with ya, I just always forget that is the case.


Nemoris's action makes me realize that there can't be a surprise round when there is a known actor already id'd.

For example, Nemoris gets a surprise action because he saw the driders so he attacks her.

She would also get a surprise action since she knows the drivers are there and casts a spell, but now everyone else can see her so they wouldn't be surprised ala Jenya above.

So, no surprise round. Nemoris go ahead and convert to a full round action. Dalamus action is good. Everyone else post round 1.

I am so confused :)

I am kinda on the same page, just a round 1, no surprise, so can Jenya change her spell or does she need to just cast the Protection from Evil?

I am fine either way.


No change to Jenya, you're good. There's just no "bonus" action for those who make their perception check. They're just aware of the extra participants in the fight and can target or interact with them accordingly.

How high, can long arms reach them?

I keep messing up on spell combat so I just want to make sure I can't use it and move up from where I am and hit a drider correct?


20 feet up. Out of reach.

Spell combat is essentially a full attack with a spell incorporated. Use all the rules of full attack ... i.e. you dont get a move action, just a 5 foot.

You can just roll with your highest or lowest modifier (or whichever you think it is) and then give me the other modifiers as needed to adjust. I wont penalize you for "choosing" wrong.

sorry i was waiting to see where were the enemies so i could move to attack.


Magma, as Ive said above to a couple other guys. The driders are 20 feet above the ground.

I think with the +2 dodge bonus for Blessing and the +2 deflection AC for Protection From Evil I have a touch of 21 I believe

it appears the map has changed a lot, I wasn't that far in the building before, and there was enough room for me to not be within 10' of the drider because then I could have attacked it and I didn't, and I now I am within 10' and further in the room then I remember being.

Did it change or am I retarded?
