Epik benefit the most from Wisdom? I get +1 to hit with ranged weapons, but certainly don't need it.

Yup, you are correct. Wisdom just gives you the +1 Will save bonus. Sorry about that. Moving it to nemoris


I've updated everyone's tokens with the pictures used on the paizo website for ease of identification. I've also surrounded PCs with the red fire halo, which I intend to reserve for you and your allies. Note there are 2 NPCs on this current Lucky Monkey map that also have that same halo. That won't happen in the future.

Tike - Can you create a combat tab between the 'Gameplay' and 'Discussion' tab?

It might make more sense to have all combat be in one area since we are getting gameplay posts intermixed with combat.


Can't do that... We just have to tag our posts with the appropriate scene: "Outside the Inn", etc.

Also, I think the plan is to resolve combat round-by-round vs spamming multiple rounds of actions/dice. Tike?


Yes, per my very explicit rules both posted on Campaign tab and during Gameplay under the spoiler Posting Rules.

Round by Round, gimme 1 action ... we'll resolve combat before we proceed with flex time. If you posted half-a dozen rolls, I'll use the first one for this round and then ask for another for next round. It's the first combat, but for the sake of everyone, once we get used to it, Im sure people will be able to clean up their posts.

And Nowzai mentioned it, but I can't add tabs. Customization on here is nil. It's pretty much data entry.


Really would like to get this combat moving. Dalamus/Nemoris ... inputs?

Nowzai, go ahead and toss me a round 1 input as well, and I'll knock that out too since everyone's got there's in.

I am confused about where Dalamus is....I thought he was inside. I know they followed tracks, but before those posts were made, I said I was going inside.

I don't mind either way, but things got a little confusing. Let me know, and I will do what needs to be done


flex time ... my man, flex time. Unless you specifically say "I'm not going" or "We're splitting the party up now" I assume you are there. all this happens before you enter, essentially and then everyone enters together.

That's why the headers are so crucial ... Outside the Inn & Common Room were being discussed and worked at the same time, but in game they happen sequentially.

It allows us to move the game along faster and not sit around waiting for this:

DM: "There are 3 doors, what next?"
2 days pass
Dalamus: "I open the west door"
2 days pass
DM: "It's a broom closet, its empty"
2 days pass
Dalamus: "OK, I go to the east door."
2 days pass
DM:"Sigh ... it's a bathroom, its empty ... who wrote this dungeon any how?"

And please, everyone, try and follow the posting standards. It keeps the board clean and helps me out ... let me demonstrate what I'd like to see below here.

I get the concept, but I didn't know their was a presumption of moving as a unit. I am fine with it, but I wanted to make sure I was playing within the game parameters.

I didn't want to start fighting a fight, after I failed a perception check and did not know about the activities behind the building.

I added some rolls, so we can start with that.


Suprise Round
HP: 34/34
AC: 15 (T:12) (13/10 after charge)
Status: stealth 17, fatigued, bull's strength (3 minutes)

I'm so hungry, I'm gonna eat that old, wrinkly wizard

Dino charges the wizard and pounces him.

Standard: charge (pounce ability allows full attack bonus at end)

The dice:
To hit (+2 for charge):
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Dam:

is it prone??? which dino rolled the one?
does magma get a flanking bonus for attacking the white dino?


Again, this was an example post of how I'd like you to post your combat actions. Not really a combat post. I wont be using individual aliases for every creature.

If it works, I'll have Magma move to flank if possible without drawing an AoO.

Sorry about the changing style of my combat posts, looking for a way to make it clean and easy to read within the Dice spoiler (which you can open) ... not quite there. May steal Dave's format. There's certain things (like indenting) that you can't do that really irritate me.

I like...

Attack vs Target: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25; Confirm Critical: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16; Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11

Use the preview function to assess the hit, then add in the 'Confirm Critical:' and dice; preview again, add in extra damage if necessary.

More to the point, it keeps everything on one line.

You have a standing 20% discount from the orphanage quest. Nowzai can also spend a prestige point from Bluecrater for addtl resources. (std faction stuff not in the journal entry). I'll get you that number this evening

I think the built in roller is really good, we just have to figure out a nice easy way for everyone to use it, and keep things similar enough for Tike to be able to read it easily too. I like the one line approach with ooc and semi colons, and preview works pretty well too, dice rolls won't change.

Trying to figure out a way to put the text in a nice easy cut and paste format so everyone can read it.. maybe a doc on the other site with the format all setup?

I've got a fair bit squirreled away too.


Looking a the spell raise dead it's got a 5,000gp spell component requirement. Cauldron churches are currently flush with 5,000gp value diamonds, so we're going to say that raise dead has a 2,000gp casting requirement.

Less 20% = 1,600
less 1 PP (Bluecrater) = 1,200 gp

Nowzai will be raised with 3 hps, 2 negative levels and a 50% chance of losing each memorized spell.

Assuming he still wants to do this and you all kick it in, let me know the plan (in gameplay, in character). He always has the option of re-rolling if that's his desire.


Also going to need another 2k gp for the Restorations also, else I'll be a 17 hp, CL 1 wizard. I have about 1800 gp, and can sell some items to make more. Donations to make up the 2k would be obliged (and repaid... hopefully).

So it looks like right now we're at:

1800 (Nowzai)
200 (Malcolm)

Which leaves us 1200 shy for both spells with the 20% discount?

Should come out to 300gp each if the rest of us all have the cash, if not I can cover what we're short. You can save the prestige point too.

Wait a week and it'll be a 30% off weekend.

You do bring up one valid point if you want to save money. Reincarnation is an option through the Bluecrater Academy. They'll do it for 800 gp (no prestige cost), half that with prestige if you wish. You retain the class and negative levels still, just may end up in a different body (of a different race even)
