Razorend disappears from sight and moves forward into the Arena while Urgeon hastes everyone. Kovax stands ready and Ridic causes the Arena to spring up in growth.

I marked where Ridic would cast entangle, but I wasn't sure the direction that they were moving in, so I assumed they were moving to the south. If that is not the case, then I want it to the direction that they were moving

Kovax will start moving up as well once he sees the entangle and where it covers since he doubts the are coming through it, he will move south a bit as well

The chariot lurches in the entangled field as the ogres fight against the vines as the troll yells at them to push harder.

Razorend smiles grimly as the lighting strikes the quagmired chariot. He moves closer to the edge, setting up for their inevitable break.

Note she would've passed both saves without the entangle ... -4 to Dex

I moved Urgeon and Ridic up to be within range of the casting of their spells ... even at 100 + 10/level, you're a bit far out

Urgeon creates the pit under the chariot and the ogres both strain to keep it out, but fail and let go of it. Helskaarg leaps free, but gets caught up in the growth and falls to the bottom, enabling Ridic to drop a lighting bolt straight down on her.

Kovax and Razorend move up.

Round 2

At Urgeon Round 2

Ridic will keep blasting the bolts down on her.

there is no real doubling. Your movement rate increases by 30. You can move your movement rate for every move action you use. If you choose to move twice in one round and forgo your standard action then you move the full movement rate twice.

Init: Razorend, Urgeon, Helskaarg, Ogres, Ridic, Kovax

Urgeon starts casting his spell as you hear activity and thrashing about from inside the pit.

Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

The ogres let go of their chariot and rush forward ripping free of the entangling vines, and hold their ground as they see Kovax coming forward. They draw and swing their clubs at him, but the agile gunfighter dodges twice.

To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8; miss
To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13; miss

Ridic drops another bolt of lighting down into the pit, but is unable to see its effect.

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 = 21

Round 3

Razorend moves up quietly and invisibly behind Kovax.

Urgeon finishes his summoning spell and something appears, something that looks like ...

Kovax laughs that he finally has something to vent his anger on. He will 5' down before attack to keep drawing the ogre's to him and let his friends flank

Razorend uses his invisibility to circle around the ogres, moving into position between them and the vine-choked area.

Move and continue to ready for approach. Waiting on the troll, but will switch to the ogres if it drops and/or the ogres go on a rampage.


Lords of the Arena Round 3

Init: Razorend, Urgeon, Helskaarg, Ridic, Ogres, Kovax

Razorend moves up and circles the ogres.

Urgeon, your elemental can attack right away and you can take an action as well on this round

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 2 = 6
Climb: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 - 2 = 13

More grunting and cursing from the pit as Ridic drops another lightning bolt into it.

The ogres assault Kovax ineffectively again before he retaliates with a vicious strike and a burning slug.

To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

At Razorend again

Razorend tries not to laugh at the troll's misfortune. He continues to wait with grim patience, thumbing the edge of his kukri.

Urgeon fires his wand of magic missiles at the ogre not being attacked by the elemental.

The elemental attacks the ogres flank.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 + 3 = 23;
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10

Round 4

Urgeon and the elemental repeat their attacks.

MM damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 + 3 = 25;
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11

Is the map accurate as far as where the ogres are? Did they both move up to attack me?


They moved and waited for you in Round 2 ... since you were coming forward and then attacked you in Round 3, then you 5foot moved and attacked them. Should all be accurate now.

Lords of the Arena Round 4

Init: Razorend, Urgeon, Helskaarg, Ridic, Ogres, Kovax

Razorend waits as Urgeon's elemental thrashes one of the ogres to the ground, and then moves to the next to clobber it hard as well. Urgeon follows up with a series of magical bolts that pound massive wounds into the creature causing it to stagger.

Ridic drops another lightning bolt as the troll continues to flail in the pit.

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

The remaining ogre turns and swings its club at the elemental shattering into rock pieces.

To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23; HIT!; Damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (5, 7) + 7 = 19

At Kovax for action

If I move to where I am on the map now and stay out of the range of the ogre until the last step he won't get an AoO because we both have 10' reach right? And then I can attack once because I moved less than my 70'

Razorend and Urgeon hold near the entangle, the wizard casting another spell.

Ridic drops another (and his last) lightning bolt on the frustrated troll.

Urgeon places the summoned earth elemental next to Kovax. In terran he commands the elemental, "Hold until the troll comes to you."

He then moves and casts a grease spell in the 10' square edge of entanglement nearest Kovax and the elemental (blue box).

Finally he shouts a warning to the others. "The pit spell is ending soon, let her come to you Kovax! Beware the greased area in front of you!"

Edit: I think I may be confusing Razorend's token for Kovax. I assume Kovax is also at the edge of the entanglement?

Kovax delays until the top of the order and then readies an action to attack the troll as soon as he get close enough


Round 7

The party waits patiently until the pit ends and the troll slowly rises up out of the pit. It's convenient that Urgeon's spell ends the same time as the troll acts ... Urgeon may take his Round 7 action

Helskaarg roars in delight, slightly scorched from the lightning bolts, but the damage visibly healing in front of you. Still in the grasping vines, she rips at the vines with one hand as she aims her autograpnel and fires at her nearest opponent, Razorend. The spike punches into the androids body and then the rope goes taught and it yanks him forward 20 feet into the entangled area and through the grease to within the troll's reach. (Make saves for both)

Break Free: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14; fail
To hit: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 4 = 23; HIT!; Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 + pull
Pull vs Razorend CMD: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27

At Ridic

Crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12; ranged touch
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 5) = 12

He then commands the elemental to earth glide under the troll (double move).


Urgeon's bolt sears the troll and she shrieks. You notice her wounds stop healing.


Razorend is invisible, I forgot, so damage and pull go to Kovax. Switch your tokens please (kovax, the pull is 20nfeet)

Is she large? Does she actually take up 4 squares? If so is she attack-able by me from where she pulled me?

Ref Save Entangle - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16


She is as big as she takes up on the map (large). If you move 20 feet forward, I dont know where that puts you, but if her token is within reach you can attack (after resolution of saves. I think that's enough for Ridic's DC).

She's not coming out... I've got to go to her, Razorend grimaces. He steps sideways, appearing just behind the troll, coming back into view as he strikes.

Swift: assume Formless Dance (see invisible & blurred)

Standard: Fading Strike, teleport to flank with Kovax

Reflex save vs entangle: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Kukri vs Troll (flat-footed/flanked): 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 29; Damage: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (2, 6) = 17

WTF I totally made a post asking if I could 5' since I made my save and I can't find anywhere that says entangled is difficult terrain and it's just gone...sometimes I hate this site
