DM Davy Jones |

Movin' on.
The rats renew their attack on Nymph.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage (Bite): 1d4 ⇒ 1 Make a Fortitude save (I am not giving you a DC on purpose).
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Dexterity: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
One of the rats goes prone while trying to bite (AC 11) having missed spectacularly. The other does manage to bite down a bit but doesn't get as much of Nymph's leg as it wanted.
Go!

Nymph |

Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Hissing as the rat bites into she begins swinging furiously in retaliation.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Gods. F**!ing. Damnit!

Nymph |

Dexterity: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Oh f! you dice roller grrrrr

Ayre |

Are heads downstairs and sees the mess
1d20 ⇒ 3 and sends a spear shattering against the wall of the boat.

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Galean runs forward, trying to either fall on the rat or punch it.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
He misses the stomp and smashes the deck.
Galean's AC is 11
"Anyone got a spare weapon? Wulf, if you're not too busy throwing the daggers around?"

DM Davy Jones |

Welcome to my world.
Point of order - the bilges are at the bottom of the ship, you'd be climbing stairs to get to the lower decks.

DM Davy Jones |

Sorry, I missed Galean's post - he got there right before me.
The rats are still up, though one looks awful.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 Vs. Nymph
Damage (Bite): 1d4 ⇒ 1
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 Galean, make a Fortitude save.
Damage (Bite): 1d4 ⇒ 1
They both manage to pierce skin on Nymph and Galean.
I can't believe they aren't dead yet...so Go!

Nymph |

"Die! Die! Die!"
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Yay! i'm so sorry I was mad at you Dice Roller *kisses DR affectionally*
Finally hitting one of the mangy beasts Nymph stabs and hacks in and out repeatedly.

DM Davy Jones |

Presuming you attacked the wounded one, it's dead.
Otherwise there are two wounded rats.

Nymph |

Hmm, decisions decisions... :3 I don't know which one that is so I just attacked whichever one attacked her.

Yuki Okano |

Putting on the buckler that Ayre graciously allowed Yuki to keep, the oracle follows Carthus up into the lower hold, "I'll take the leather armor if no one else wants it. I mean, it's not as...wow there's rats up here too!"

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

"Uhm... I was trying to catch it and I slipped?" Galean is going to try and grab a dagger from nearby, one of Wulf's. If he has time, he'll also swing it for one of the rats,
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Missing completely, Galean continues swinging desperately.

Ayre |

1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 4 = 0 for 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ayre summons a spark of electricity and tries to zap a rat and only succeeds in shocking himself with static electricity

Yuki Okano |

If close enough to one of the remaining rats, Yuki takes it upon herself to help out with her quarterstaff, but not all that well with her limited skill.
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

DM Davy Jones |

Dire rats have a CR of 1/3. I'm pretty sure if this keeps up I can kill one of you.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Nymph
Damage (Bite): 1d4 ⇒ 3
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 Nymph
Damage (Bite): 1d4 ⇒ 2
The rats bite deeper, intent on bringing down the terrifying skinwalker - so far the only person on the lower deck they've seen kill a fellow dire rat, though Wulf has wounded them.
I can't believe you have to GO!

Yuki Okano |

Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Confirm?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Crit Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12
"Hey, you creeps, stop trying to eat Nymph!" Yuki yells with annoyance at the rats as she breaks one of their spines with her quarterstaff.
And yet, the dice will continue to fail me later when I have to do a daily task.

DM Davy Jones |

One of the rat's skull is crushed by Yuki's skillful use of her quarterstaff, leaving only one dire rat.

Carthus |

DM wants to mock us. I'm sure of it.
Well that didn't take too long. Let's look around for a minute before we head up with today's lunch menu.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
I love that roll. I also pity you poor fools because combat and perception took my good rolls and unless we gained a level, all my cooking rolls will suck. Just watch.

Yuki Okano |

"Wow, those rats really did a number on you guys," Yuki says with some sympathy, "Let me patch you up." With that she casts two healing spells, one on Nymph and one on Rafter.
CLW on Nymph: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
CLW on Rafter: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Nymph |

With the rat uprising finally quashed Nymph gratefully hugs the healer tightly when she uses her gifts to remove the many squared tooth marks covering her body. "THAAAAAAAAAANNNNKKKKK YOU!... if I ever see a rat gain it'll be too soon..."
Hearing Wulf's comment she'll nod in agreement. "Same with my teeth, but no f##&ing way in the Hells were any of those bastards getting anywhere near my mouth!"

Yuki Okano |

"Oh, hey! No problem." Yuki responses to the grateful ranger, accepting her hug, "If those jerks in charge didn't take our stuff, that would have been a lot easier I'm sure. I've never worked on a ship with officers so...sadistic."

Ayre |

I have suffered worse, believe it or not. Ayre says as he helps gather the knives

Nymph |

Nymph furiously nods in agreement. "The ship sucks, the officers suck, the food sucks--no offense Carthus."

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

"Doing my best on the last bit, Nymph. Let's take a short break and then look around. Someone wants some berries?" Galean casts Goodberry, Berries: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
"Someone want one?", he says, chewing the first one.

DM Davy Jones |

Programming note: let me know when you go on deck and the rest of the day will proceed.

Yuki Okano |

"I'll take one, sure." Yuki says, placing a berry in one of her pockets, "Does it do anything special or is it just a berry?"

Nymph |

"Does it have to be more than a berry? Is it better than a cherry?" Nymph can't help but quip with a grin as she takes and pockets the offered fruit. "I'm pretty sure we'd starve without you kid, thanks."

Yuki Okano |

I'm ready to move on, although we might want to divide out the stuff found. Before punishment time, Yuki will stash her stuff in her locker.

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

"Just wait until you see me at the helm!", says Galean, excited. He then says, "I'll take this part, you can take the other?", and starts searching meticulously, digging in the dirt without fear or disgust.
Taking 20 for 29 in perception. Aid another would be nice.
"No offense, Carthus. Look on the bright side, your cooking makes the rest of our lives seem better in comparison!"

DM Davy Jones |

One of the great joys of RPG's is seeing memes born within a game. Carthus failed one roll and he will never live it down. Of course, trying to disguise the disaster by spreading it out on the floor and fleeing the galley didn't help.
When you emerge, sans loot and with the corpses of the dire rats in tow, Scourge and Plugg look both embarrassed and angry. While they clearly don't like you, the presence of multiple devil rats won't endear them to the captain or the crew.
What took so long! You shouldn't have needed that much time to find six damn rats and kill them!
Scoruge twitches his lash, eager to strike one or more of you but settles for grabbing the devil rats and throwing them over the side of the ship for the sharks.
He then stomps off to the quarterdeck and you can see that whatever he dislike he had for you is quickly settling into an irrational hatred.
Take the rum ration and post your nighttime actions! Then we roll to day 5.

Ayre |

We will kill them faster next time sir. Might we have some of our gear to facilitate that? 1d20 ⇒ 17 diplo
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 fort Ayre, slams down his rum, and that night he sends Rocky off exploring again. This time into the middle hold
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 stealth
Take 20 on percep
1d6 ⇒ 4 Once again Ayre winds up on rope work, every day so far
1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 4 = 17 Ayre works diligently and manages to get all his knots tied just in time to avoid another beating.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Fort

Yuki Okano |

Stealth + Guidance: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23
With a little push of divine magic, Yuki waits until no one is looking to stealthily pour her portion of the foul antifreeze rum off the side of the ship.
Feel frisky, since the day has gone so well for her so far, Yuki approaches Arietta Banison at night and tries to smooth things over, "Hey, I know we kind of got off a wrong foot, but I think we can try to put our differences aside and work together with no problem, don't you think?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
