Yeah...Justin was posting normally less than a week ago. Hoping his family is doing OK.

DM Carbide |

He didn't make it. Here's the obituary:

DM Carbide |

You're far enough along that we can finish this level with cooperative botting of Kali, and then we can recruit a replacement if you think you need one. What do you all think?

DM Carbide |

Anyone else? Eva, Asvald, Senja?

Black Dow |

Apologies for jumping in here gang - I'm a long time sparring partner of Carbide who was also in another game with Justin/Kali.
I've set up this thread asking about the potential of an "In-Memoriam" section of the website where members of our community who have passed away can be remembered.
Not sure if this is something that strikes a cord with any of you, but if so - any support of this would be appreciated.
Cheers all.

Today was my son's birthday, and I had no chance to get online. I'll get a post up tomorrow.

DM Carbide |

I'll be on the road tomorrow, and won't have time to get things set up for the next fight. I've moved you across the lava, though, so you can at least get a look at the lay of the land.

DM Carbide |

Today is my wife's birthday and we're having a bunch of people over tomorrow, so my posting will be scarce to nonexistent for the duration.

DM Carbide |

I've been getting ready for a con this weekend, and haven't had much time to post. Will try to get something up before Monday.

DM Carbide |

I'll be out of town most of the weekend.

DM Carbide |

I presume I'd know if the hex was still active or not?
I'm not sure one way or the other. There's nothing I can find by RAW that states a witch can tell if a hex is still active, though, so absent a specific justification for it I would say no.

![]() |

Yeah, I wasn't sure. Seems reasonable that I'd be able to sense if it moved out of the range of my hex, but I don't have a rule I can cite for that either. I guess I keep cackling just in case?

DM Carbide |

Just in time to react (or not) to Torque's post, I'll be traveling this weekend, and packing tomorrow. Posting will be sparse at best, but I should be back Monday.

DM Carbide |

So my laptop battery died while I was out of town, and I haven't gotten a replacement yet.
Also--Eva, are you around?

![]() |

Carbide - this felt like something I shouldn't just stick in an OOC post - I'm so sorry to hear about your losing your brother, and your mom going into hospice care. That all sounds very hard. I hope the memorial helped some - my dad died last year and, though we had a difficult relationship, having the memorial for him a few months later really changed my perspective in some positive ways.

DM Carbide |

Thanks for the kind words.

DM Carbide |

Eva & Torque--saving throws?

DM Carbide |

I'm going to be out camping for a couple of weeks, starting Friday night, and I expect to be spending evenings until then getting ready. Although I'll have limited internet access I'm unlikely to be able to post much before August 12, so let's plan on reconvening then.

DM Carbide |

Back from my travels, and slowly recovering. The hardest part (other than the really grim work week before I left, trying to get everything set for being gone two weeks) was that we had to go out to Colorado in the middle weekend--my brother's daughter was only going to be around that weekend for the ash scattering. So my wife and I flew from Pittsburgh to Denver a week ago Friday, drove from Denver to Durango, had Saturday with our nieces and their mom's family, drove back to Denver Sunday morning, and flew back to Pittsburgh that night. It was worth it, though.

DM Carbide |

I'll be traveling this weekend (funeral tomorrow, wedding Saturday), and then on Monday I leave for a workshop that'll run Tuesday-Thursday.

Heads up, I'm headed on a trip and unsure whether I'll be able to post for the next few days. Likely back to normal posting on Wednesday, 11/6.

As crazy as it is that we've been on this level for the past year, I just searched the thread and found that Torque cast resist energy on Asvald in this post. Kali cast it on herself two posts below that.
I think this is also the same level where Torque cast it in this post on himself and Senja.
So, unless we've been on this level for more than 90 minutes, fire resistance 20 should still be active on Asvald, Kali, Torque and Senja.

DM Carbide |

Yep--you cast a lot of resist energy spells when you returned to the level after healing up from the poison.

DM Carbide |

Have fun!
Incidentally, I'm waiting on everyone except Senja to act--at least, I think I am.

DM Carbide |

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy any other holidays you may celebrate!

DM Carbide |

Please make your day job rolls, and I'll get the chronicles out to you. Are all of you going slow track?
This also raises another question: do you want to get a replacement for Kali?

![]() |

Who knew aggressive thundercloud was the spell needed to end the level?
Day Job, Craft (baskets) : 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24
I think a replacement for Kali would be good, though it may be tough to recruit a player for a game that moves as slowly as this one does nowadays.

DM Carbide |

I've been distracted by work and family for a while, but work (knock wood) seems to be settling down. At least there aren't any more reorganizations on the horizon. (Of course, my boss didn't give us any warning before he quit last May, and that was a major stressor.) All of which is to say that I'll try to pick up the pace.

![]() |

Yea, slow track. Taking C3 as my plot of land which means another +1 to dayjob checks.
Profession(Merchant): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
75 x 1.5 = 112 gold.
To be honest we probably don't need a replacement. We're not lacking in anything and I think we have the capacity to move faster with just the 4 of us.

![]() |

I hope I didn't come across as critical, Carbide, was not my intention. I thought I recalled that Paizo had gotten blocked at work for you, which can slow things down a lot because it's hard to even do a quick check-in.
That said, poicking up the pace would be fine with me and Torque makes a good point, that we can do that more easily with just four PCs (even if a couple of them are serious PbP slackeers these days).

![]() |

Perform: 10 + 18 + 4 = 32
I'm indifferent on finding a backfill for Kali. New blood is always fun but it's going to be a tall order to find someone interested in joining the fun this late into the campaign.

DM Carbide |

Senja--no worries. I'd already been thinking I needed to pick up the pace a bit, although Paizo is still blocked at work.
I've got Torque's hex request--what hexes do the rest of you want?

![]() |

On my day job, I forgot to add the +3 bonus from my previous hex choices (was posting while on vacation and didn't have the info), so my result was actually a 27 (for 50 gp), and I get an additional 50% due to the Booming Settlement hex, for a total of 75 gp.
For this chronicle, I'll take hex C5.
