Kelden Sunblade |

well obviously miss Alesie before we rest he would use his spells to get you up to full health.i was saving them for a rainy day or something *Nods*

Kyra Greenstar |

Also Kyra knows Cure Light Wounds, but can only cast 2 spells per day... so I may or may not have been hording them just in case lol.
Also, the Wand sounds like a great idea! I'll wait to hear from the others and unless there is some disagreement I'll plan on purchasing a partial Wand of CLW. Also, I'll go ahead and disseminate the Pots of CLW and Lesser Restos.
I'm going to say... let's give the last potion of Lesser Resto to Ilse. Hook the newbies up with some loots. Also, reference the new comers... who wants which scale from Aurora and Farak? Hmm....
*EDIT*
Hot dog, Striker! That's awesome... I'll add those values to the loot list. And which price would the merchant give us for the ring? I'm going with the lowest value? Or do they go highest appraisal value as well?
Pending the answer to the last question... this will leave us with a profit of 360-410gp. Not a bad little haul there.
Also, who would like to lay claim to the morningstar? Kyra will pass on it.

Alesie Nori |

oh good call. Looks like they had glittering and Resistance I believe.
probably suggest giving Glittering to Ilse (Not sure casting glitterdust is very paladin like), and the resistance one to our new divine defender Thetin.
I'll take the morningstar if no one wants it. (and based off of everyone class/archetypes it's probably likely). Not ideal to be sneak attacking with a morningstar RP wise and, I think the best person for it is actually probably Thetin but not sure how Alesie would feel about giving a complete stranger the weapon right off the bat.

Kyra Greenstar |

Kyra would be fine with Alesie taking the morningstar. And glad to know on the average pricing. So... I think Kyra will take the role of Quartermaster for the group. Perhaps I should dedicate some points into Diplomacy to go with eyelash batting to get the best prices out of merchants lol!!!
Ilse, Thetin how do you guys feel about the scale options. If Ilse isn't super interested in the glitterdust scale then she and Kyra could switch. Kyra's scale allows the owner to cast Align Weapon 3x's per day but only allows the weapon to be aligned as Good or Lawful. Kyra wouldn't mind taking the Glitterdust if Ilse would rather take the Align Weapon.

Alesie Nori |

I have no problems with Kyra being the quartermaster! Alesie with her bouts of shyness probably isn't the best person to be haggling prices with merchants. Though as the resident strong-woman I've been told I can be fairly intimidating.
Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 18
see who needs additional modifiers. Straight dice rolls is where its at.

Kyra Greenstar |

Hooded Lantern: 1d100 ⇒ 86 *Sigh... so no hooded lantern...
Bullseye Lantern: 1d100 ⇒ 39
Okay, so I picked up a hooded bullseye lantern for Kyra to fill up with those glowing green crystals she found near the abandoned temple. I also added the morningstar and the Wand to the unclaimed section until we figure out who wants to take those. I'm suggesting Kelden take the wand as he's essentially our healer.
If you guys think of something you want for your character, feel free to roll and pick it. Just let me know what you're purchasing and how much so I can edit the master list please!

Alesie Nori |

I feel like I'm hoarding all the magic items if I have both the cloak and the morningstar.... though I definitely will use the morningstar if I have it. If I do end up with the morningstar, Alesie will not take a cut of the rest of the treasure. the cloak, MW chain shirt and morningstar is far more then my share of the treasure so far.

Kelden Sunblade |

My problem with that is I just can see Kelden using any other weapon than the goddesses favored for the most part. I mean obvious if hordes of skeletons show up he would switch to bludgeoning, anything else gets the scimitar. With two real frontline fighter sorts... (yay for those by the way) I can sort of go back to how I envioned Kelden, sort of a battlefield support stay at the edge of fights so if i have to disengage to reach someone for healing I can. I had felt sort of obligated til now to try and keep the focus on him as much as possible.
And I will grab the wand.

Alesie Nori |

If I get the morningstar its going to be my bopping stick. Sneak up on unsuspecting evil do-er and BOP'd on the head, seems a very Alesie think to do, as she will obviously have to intone the BOP as she does it.
Alesie prefers to be in melee, just waiting on the +1 BAB so I can draw as a free action during a move in the first round. right now I either burn a round drawing a weapon and getting in close, or I can pull out a bow and do damage, which makes it difficult.

Kyra Greenstar |

Kyra is the same way Alesie, waiting for that +1 BAB lol. Now that we've got two heavy frontliners... I'm planning on working Kyra into more of a skirmisher style fighter. That's how I'd always pictured her fighting style. And now w/ Mythic Vital Strike.... Mmmmmm

Thetin Dorvas |

I will happily take the Resistance scale. It will work well with my characters natural resistance 5 to cold and electricity and it sort of fits the idea of my character just being a big meat shield.
As for the +1 morningstar, i would certainly like to have it. The thing is, as Alesei said, i'm one of the new guys to the party so i'm pretty sure it would be sort of odd to doll out a +1 weapon to someone your character has just met.

Kyra Greenstar |

Okay! So here's the plan... Kelden will take the wand and for now Alesie can use the morningstar until further notice. I like this plan... Loot list is updated, also I gave Ilse the extra Potion of Lesser Restoration on the loot list.
And we still have 178gp worth of group loot to burn (or save) if anyone needs anything before we depart, throw up some rolls and let me know so I can made the changes to our lootz tracker!
*EDIT*
After looking over the character sheets, I'm going to also pick up some rope for the characters who don't have a coil already. Going to roll and see if maybe perhaps (given that there a giant spiders in these caverns.... perhaps to find a coil of Spider silk rope? Eh? eh?)
Spider Silk Rope > 25%: 1d100 ⇒ 92 Hot dog!
Silk Rope for Kelden > 25%: 1d100 ⇒ 51
Silk Rope for Carilain> 25%: 1d100 ⇒ 64
Okay, unless something changes and one of you guys would like a certain piece of gear... I'm going to pick up a coil of spider silk rope (100gp... expensive I know, but RP-wise realllly cool) and two coils of Silk rope. I'll give Alesie either the spider silk or Kyra's current coil of silk rope.

Kelden Sunblade |

Really the only thing I want to see and feel is the sun kissing my skin. *grins* Well and everyone to make it out of the underground alive and unscarred.. oh and mostly minor (or none) demons about. Dont think Im up for smiting a balor or marilith just yet thats level 3 or so *lawls*

Kyra Greenstar |

Hrmm... so in hindsight... I was thinking rather than dropping such a large amount of a coil of rope, would you guys rather we pick up some masterwork backpacks? We can afford three MW backpacks and two coils of silk rope... that would essentially wipe out our party loot, but right now we can't really buy much anyway. Thoughts?

Kelden Sunblade |

I for one am not so worried about the weight of things.. already in medium armor so... but if you ladies want to splurge go for it, Kelden wouldnt be there to tell you know either so if you got him one im sure he would hand it to new found fast moving allies. But thats just me. Whats everyone else think?

Alesie Nori |

Looks like we failed on Spider silk rope being available... not that that is particular surprising from the write-up about how it's made... unless the dice rolls changed on you Kyra?
Alesie does have rope (part of rogue's kit which I've now expanded on in my profile of what's in it). However, she would take a coil of silk rope for sure in replacement of her current standard hemp rope.

Kyra Greenstar |

Herp derp! Not sure how I missed that, Alesie lol. Thanks for expanding your equipment list though, I appreciate that. As far as the rolls go... I was going for anything over 25% is good, under 25 is bad. Suppose I could have made that a little clearer lol.
Yeah, I thought a reflavor on the rope might need to be approved by Striker given the normal description. So... I'll hold off on a ruling by him, and to hear what the rest of the party thinks. If we all prefer MW backpacks over the spider rope, then that is what we shall do!

Alesie Nori |

Think that was the plan. Any objections if I go back to full health and assume either Kyra or Kelden casts a 2 HP heal into me before they go to bed, i.e. the minimum possible from CLW? (+1 healing from getting a good nights rest)

Alesie Nori |

okay, I've adjusted my health back to full even though I won't actually gain it till just prior to going to bed. If we get jumped in town sometime this evening, I can adjust it back to 7/10.

Kyra Greenstar |

No problemo, Striker! Okay, so here's the plan then... rolling to see if any MW backpacks are available (already good to go on the ropes)... I'll just use the standard on the percentage so no confusion. 75 and below the item is available, 76 and higher item not available...
MW Backpack#1: 1d100 ⇒ 22
MW Backpack#2: 1d100 ⇒ 36
MW Backpack#3: 1d100 ⇒ 46
Okay, so the plan is to pickup all three MW backpacks (the IC assumption being they go to Carilain, Kelden, and Kyra). If we want to redistribute them to one of the new arrivals that's completely fine with me! Loot tracker is updated, with the purchases we have 8gp left from the party funds. (Free feel to speak up if you guys have any issues with that!)
And yes, the plan was to get some rest before heading out in the morning. And to get to know our new friends.

Carilain Riveroak |

Good call on the MW backpack and the silk rope. Carilain is one that needs to keep his load light. And yeah, everyone should have a rope.
Means we can trade his old backpack in for cash. (1 gp)
We've been using a few arrows, we might want to replenish those as well.

Alesie Nori |

Good Call Carilain. Looking back through the adventure it looks like:
Carilain used 2 arrows
Kyra used 4, retrieved 1
Alesie used 6
If we bought one quiver of 20 arrows it looks like it would be enough to refill all of our used arrows plus some.
Other thing we may want to look at is some Cold-Iron Arrows for 2 GP, we just saw demons take over Kenabres and it's likely that there will still be some left up there... wouldn't mind having some cold-iron arrows to stay at range from some of them. so 6 GP would give all of our potential range people the ability to deal with demons from range if necessary, and hopefully pretty close to the surface.
CI Arrows: 1d100 ⇒ 47

Kyra Greenstar |

Cold iron!! *Bonks head* Good call, Alesie! I might even forgo my backpack for the possibility of a cold iron scimitar as well, would be nice to have one of those around lol. Let's just see if it's even available...
CI Scimitar: 1d100 ⇒ 99
Welp, nevermind on the scimitar lol! So I'll pick up three quivers of cold iron arrows; 1 quiver each for Alesie, Carilain, and Kyra. That will leave us with 2gp left over.

Alesie Nori |

Did we want to replenish our regular arrows as well? We've used 11 to this point, so probably don't need to especially with the addition of the cold-iron arrows. On the other hand, were going to the surface through an evil Mongrelman fortress/town/tribe/something... Not sure how much combat that will involve.

Carilain Riveroak |

Weapon blanch. Maybe some in silver also.
So...
Weapon Blanch-Cold Iron: 1d100 ⇒ 77
Weapon Blanch-Silver: 1d100 ⇒ 98
I knew I should have let someone else roll for those.

Kyra Greenstar |

Might as well pick up a quiver of regular arrows as well.
Arrows: 1d100 ⇒ 34

Kelden Sunblade |

just really wanted to get to roll for something: 1d100 ⇒ 47
I dont think we can afford it regardless. YAY!

Kelden Sunblade |

just a little preheads up April 2nd-5th my WoW guild gets together for a big ol party that well, yours truly is the cook for. Since its held in a state park in tennessee with very spotty intenet (and even phone) connection my posting during the 3 to 5th will be spotty at best. It literally snuck up on me this year or I would have mentioned something sooner. Sorry for any inconvienances. feel free to dm pc me. Super sorry for mentioning it so late.

Alesie Nori |

And...Alesie hits rock bottom! Was worried we were going to level before I could set the stage for this. I've had it planned for a while now, its always rough when you realize you're not the bad ass hero you thought you were. Her confidence shattered and her becoming the shy self conscious young elven girl filled with doubt. The Confidence can come now with learning shes stronger then she thinks she is. WoTR just screamed to be one of those paths of her finding hidden strength and slowly growing into the hero the gods knew her to be.
Plus I needed an in-game way for Alesie to start looking at magic. Don't like characters that all of a sudden just say I was a rogue, but now, all of a sudden I also have wizard levels. Magic saving her life should get her slowly interested, and assuming Carilain is up for it, Alesie might start looking over his shoulder at his spellbook at times for the next couple of levels. Alesie needs to find a way to feel useful and powerful and dabbling in the arcane may help with that (not that she isn't useful and powerful in her own right).

Kelden Sunblade |

I like it, i got that vib from the get go, and to be honest, it is why Kelden has shot so many mini compliments her way. I would imagine part of being the healer isnt just healing physical wounds and things like that buy keeping up Morale. *pats* poor miss Alesie. local girl gone hero!

Kelden Sunblade |

no worries both combat and skill checks are made with a d20 adding your modifiers... for instance if you were say making an intimidate check you would type in
[dice=intimidate] 1d20+4 [/dice
note that the ending dice thing should have a ] on it

Kelden Sunblade |

attacks work essentially the same way, I tend to roll damage at the same time as my attack like this. . .
[pratice swing: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
damage: 1d11 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
[dice=[pratice swing] 1d20+3 [/dice
[dice=damage] 1d11+4 [/dice

Kelden Sunblade |

now how they work wise, a skill check succed when it meets the target number (often called DC). For instance earlier our group had to jump across a gaping chasm. it was a 10 foot jump or a dc 10 check. you would roll your atheletics modifier
in my case
acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
So I managed to leap across pretty easily

Kelden Sunblade |

Now to combat... you to hit checks are compared to the targets defense.
certain attacks such as an attempt to trip are matched againts a targets combat manuever Defense. (its based on a charectors base attack bonus, their strength, and their dex with other modifiers)
A standard regular attack (like you hitting me with your ginormous hammer.) would be based against my regular ac in this case an 18
so your attack would look like
Ilse growls with fury and swings aiming to crush the annoyingly verbose young cleric.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
The attack deflects barely off the clerics shield as he jerked to the side avoiding the heavy blow.
Would be an example of a combat round

Kelden Sunblade |

i hope this is helping :)
About midway down on tab 5 of the gameplay section has a combat in a forgotten temple we had if you wanted to sort of see how one went from start to finish.

Kyra Greenstar |

Trained skills are specific skills which require skill point to be invested before a character can use the skill. Knowledge skills are an example for this. Normally a character can make a skill check without any points invested into a skill unless it's a 'trained' skill.
