Actually, I need to pick the 6 languages Taedric knows - anyone have preferences? Was thinking Abyssal for certain, probably Draconic and Celestial. Undercommon? Infernal?

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Languages with probable actual or thematic appropriateness for this Campaign.
Aklo
Abyssal (obviously)
Celestial
Draconic
Dwarven
Elf
Hallit
Necril
Sylvan
Probably others...

Alorah |

I speak Common, Celestial, Draconic, Dwarven, Infernal, Abyssal, Sylvan, Elven, Necril
So we'll probably have one in common.

* signs wildly with her hands *
Ok, I'm dumb. It took me this long to realize Sapphira was recommending Sign Language as one of them...
Edit: Ring of Resistance or Ring of Protection?

Taedric Starfell |

Sign language is an excellent idea.
Already speak Sylvan as a Gnome.
So, I'll be going with:
Abyssal
Infernal
Celestial
Undercommon
Alko and
Sign Language.

Alorah |

I'll take it next level an an organic development. Alorah has a knack for languages. Racial trait lets me gain 2 languages every time I spend 1 skillpoint

Taedric Starfell |

Have a similar racial trait.

Thrall the Lucky |

Okay, so let me see. On top of the benefits of being 6th level and 1sr mythic tier, we do get:
*A permanent +2 devotional bonus to a skill of our choice.
*Five permanent hit points.
*A permanent bonus feat of our choice.
*A permanent +2 increase to an ability score of our choice.
Am I right?

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Ok, I think I have everything properly prepped for play now. Camris, if you choose for Sapphira & Grey to have adventured together prior to meeting the rest of the party, may I switch out Ork or Goblin for Sign Language?

We do? That'd be useful. ;)

Sapphiria Paix |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

It's part of the mythic supercharge from the AP, I just didn't roll it in yet.

Thrall the Lucky |

Ah, ok. So I'll be including it in the alias.
Also: the gold-per-item limit was started to be 4k. I have a weapon costing 4,100 gp, is that alright or should I cut it down?

Taedric Starfell |

Right, so, I'll be (predictably):
* Boosting Str to 18 (20 with the belt, 24 raging) [not bad for a gnome];
* Taking the +2 bonus to Ride (for Mounted Combat);
I'm a little torn between taking Mounted Archery or Raging Vitality. The first helps with skirmishing and range, but not instantly dying if I'm knocked out seems pretty useful too. (Sadly, there's no Unchained version of bloodrage)
Suppose I should remove some coin and increase the strength rating on the bow either way, though.

Sapphiria Paix |

Sapphiria takes:
+2 Charisma
+2 Heal skill
Bonus feat: Weapon Focus (Falcata)

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Decision Time:
I'm definitely taking +2 Dexterity
I'm definitely taking +2 Acrobatics
Which Feat should I go for? Pass for Human, or Signature Skill?
Pass for Human gives me a bonus on Disguise checks & lets me take ten when passing for a Human
Signature Skill gives me another skill unlock before 10th level
I know mechanically Signature Skill is stronger in terms of Campaign utility.

DM-Camris |

As for languages, I will throw in an adaptation of a GURPS skill:
Language: Gesture. The ability to communicate through improvised hand signals. A successful Int check will let you convey one simple idea to another person, or understand one simple idea he is attempting to get across to you. Gesture in not suited to complex communication, however.
Language: Sign Language. This is more complex; the Common Language using gestures of both hands and mouth, but allowing for full communication without sound. Prerequisite: Gesture.

DM-Camris |

Thrall: To answer your question, all the player characters, wherever they were when lit up by the holy energy of the wardstones 'unzipping' undergo the delirious imagery HERE. (starting post 2249 and continuing into the next page)
You feel that peculiar suspension of time, as if you are in a dream.
In a place that is no place (you can't seem to concentrate enough to see where you are), a scarred but beautiful woman dressed in plate armor is before you. Looking upon you, she smiles; and you know it is good.
She thanks you for your kindness and service, then apologizes for the fact that she cannot help you in the future.
Yet, she can grant you a token of her gratitude, and kisses you on the brow.
When you wake up, your clothing is on fire, you are glowing with a blue white light (which fades away over the next hour), and you gain:
Each PC gains:
*A permanent +2 devotional bonus to a skill of your choice.
*Five permanent hit points.
*A permanent bonus general feat of your choice (you must qualify as normal for that feat’s prerequisites).
*A permanent +2 increase to an ability score of your choice.
These four are a campaign bump not strictly in the Mythic rules.
*Character Level 5 and 6!
*Mythic Tier One!
--Hard to Kill (Auto stabilize, you don't die until your negative hit points is equal or greater than double your Con score.)
--Mythic Power (Each day gain 3 plus double your Mythic Tier Power)
--Surge +1d6 (You can use a Mythic Power to add +1d6 to any d20 roll you just made.)
--Choose your Mythic Path to gain some other stuff as well...

Thrall the Lucky |

Alright then.
I've added a +2 to Survival (for a total of +15). I also added a pair of points from elsewhere to Linguistics and picked the Gestures and Sign Language additions, should serve well to communicate between group mates. I hope.
With that, Thrall is ready to go.

Taedric Starfell |

I'll drop a language in favour of the Gesture/Sign Language Path (as I'd just assumed there was a single point to get there). I'll drop Infernal. If I regret it, I'll learn 2 new languages next level.
And, I think the "not instantly dying" thing has made Raging Vitality the winner of the "what feat do I take" contest. :)
So, I've made those changes - I'm ready to go.

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Alright, now I am completely prepped & ready to go.

Taedric Starfell |

I didn't add the hp for my Mystic tier - because I wasn't sure if I got the 4 for Marshall or the 5 for Champion (as a Dual Pather)

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Which one did you get from the Feat?

Point taken. Per the feat description, I'm a Marshall who can do Champion stuff, not actually a Marshall and a Champion. 4 it is. 100 while raging, not too bad.

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Yeah, I made the same mistake with my Archmage/Heirophant, back the first time I played this Campaign.
We only got a bit further than this.

DM-Camris |

Somehow, by some strange fortune after your ascension, each of you also has a silver dragon scale in your possession.
The scale is about the size of a human hand and has an individual enchantment that allows you a particular power.
And also... you FEEL that this scale is significant somehow; an aura of sorrow as well as unbreakable resolve radiates off of it.
These are Scales of Terendelev, from the fallen defender of Kenabres. (Details in Campaign Tab under Unique Items)
Grey, the Lady's dog has the scale of Resistance.
Taedric Starfell has the scale of Disguise.
Thrall has the scale of Glittering.
Sapphira Pais has the scale of Sparking.
You can trade them around after you meet, but you can never make use of more than one.

DM-Camris |

For your first post in the Gameplay tab, I would like for you to describe yourself as to someone who has just met you; your appearance, demeanor, posture etc. Then tell the Queen of your experience when you were hit by the wardstone energy release and ascension; and also the strange circumstance of your aquiring a silver scale of Terendelev.
We'll get you from there to the main party from there after you have all had a chance to do that.

Sapphiria Paix |

Due to the language changes, I will take a couple ranks of Linguistics so that I can communicate more effectively over distances.

Am I correct in guessing we present ourselves to her inNM, I see there is a Gamplay post which answers my question.

Taedric Starfell |

Just one small note -- Camris - I plan on playing Taedric as though he thought he was a barbarian - and that it was only recent events that unlocked his bloodline (though he does understand that said bloodline is the gift from his father). [Even if he was wrong, it's not like he was fighting a lot of evil outsiders before he came home to all this, so it's pretty unlikely he'd have landed any 'angelic attacks' prior to the current situation...]
I also note that I forgot to mention Taedric's facial tattoo in the game-thread post.

Grey, the Lady's dog |

K, so of course to day would be wonky as hell for me. I am working on a Gameplay post, but it might be later tonight before I get it out.

DM-Camris |

Also, in your Profile, on the Class/Level line, I want you to put down a basic stat block.
Something along the lines of:
"Sorceress (Celestial Bloodline) 7/Mythic Tier 1: Archmage HP: 44/54 F+6 R+6 W+9. Init +2. Perception +4 AC: 13(17) Touch:13 FF: 11(15)"
It is extremely handy for me when running a combat turn.
...I guess you already got that. Well done then!

Grey, the Lady's dog |

I hate days where I open & close in the same day...

Taedric Starfell |

On my status line, Camris, the square brackets represent "while raging".

Alorah |

Very nice intros guys. Just so we know who's here before we all meet, who's left of the original group?

Alorah |

Looks like we've got seven possibly eight if Kankai is still around

Taedric Starfell |

Sorry, just so I know - are there established other languages I should be using for the ones I might translate to?
I know some people feel there's been a general consensus, whereas other parties/GMs don't care as long as everyone in the same game uses the same one - and I thought I should ask (as Taedric speaks 8 languages that aren't Common -- and I'm rather assuming that he's taught Knave his tricks in Sylvan -- before starting to teach him to understand Common since bumping the wolf's Int to 3).

Grey, the Lady's dog |

Should is a strong word. For immersion, I cheat & use Google Translate to convert my lines if I'm saying something in a language other than Common/Taldane.
My go-to list for Languages is Dutch for Halfling and Romanian for Varisian. Last WotR campaign I was in we used Maori for Hallit, this time I decided on Yiddish since the chief Hallit speakers in this Campaign are Sarkorian refugees.
Oddly enough, I like Hebrew for Draconic...
Sylvan/Elf I usually go for something in the Gaelic family, but that is me...
Orc, I tend to something out of the Nordic languages, just because they look metal as f#$$.
I've generally used Khmer for Abbysal, just because printed Khmer looks odd/wrong to me, but I acknowledge that is potentially problematic...

Thrall the Lucky |

Hallit has always reminded me of proto-Germanic. In this case, since Yiddish has a strong German base, it "sounds" appropriate.

Thrall the Lucky |

Technically Sapphiria is the only one of us eligible to be called dame...
Well, technically, according to this...
and you must be addressed as Sir (or Dame as you prefer)
There's no mention of gender. But it was only a joke anyways :P

Who's going to argue with a Mythic Half-Orc about which honorific they prefer, anyway? ;)
