1 person marked this as a favorite.

I've actually been waiting on Grey's reaction; because if I put words in a characters mouth that I think he would do but guess wrong, well some players react badly.

But yeah, it's been long enough. Time to boot this game forward.

Hey Kelden, which Divine Surge did you take? If you have Inspired Spell like Sapphiria, you can cast spells without having them prepared as long as you have Mythic Power.

How are we going to do this guys?

F Aasimar (Idyllkin) Sorceress (Celestial Bloodline) 8/ Archmage 2| HP: 53/64 | AC: 13(17) Touch:13 FF: 11(15) | CMB +5, CMD 19 | F:+6 R:+6 W:+10| Init: +2 | Perc: +4 (Darkvision),| Speed 30ft | Mythic Power 4/5|Heavenly fire 5/8 | resist acid 5, cold 5, electricity 5

So with invisibility and using 1 mythic power to cast Fly, I can get close enough to weaken 1 or 2 of the chains (With the scrolls of Acid touch) so that if they pull on them the chain would break rather than the wall. I can also use mythic power to cat shatter (still won't break invisibility since I'm casting it on the chains, but will definitely draw attention in my direction) "Shatter creates a loud, ringing noise...".

With Thrall's strength, if he can get close while invisible, he might be able to sunder one of the chains as well (I can even cast enlarge person on him for the extra oomph

I have no idea what type of creatures these are but sleep might work on one of them, and Ray of enfeeblement might make one of them too week to pull the bridge anyway.

Once the chains are broken then it's just a matter of all out combat

I strongly suggest the use of the Summon Monster IV scroll to summon an Aether Elemental.

I just dont want anyone to get splorted. There is no exploding stone and gods aid to bring us back this time... :P

That being said those all sound doable. I think as long as we can stop 3 of the 4 we should be fine... otherwise why have four?

So, in this plan, does Taedric try to rush across the bridge before they pull it back with great speed, or hold in reserve until the chains are broken?

F Aasimar (Idyllkin) Sorceress (Celestial Bloodline) 8/ Archmage 2| HP: 53/64 | AC: 13(17) Touch:13 FF: 11(15) | CMB +5, CMD 19 | F:+6 R:+6 W:+10| Init: +2 | Perc: +4 (Darkvision),| Speed 30ft | Mythic Power 4/5|Heavenly fire 5/8 | resist acid 5, cold 5, electricity 5

Well rushing across will trigger them trying to tear it down. With the advantage of invisibility, we want to start destroying the chains before they even try. But waiting in reserve to charge in and attack once it all goes to hell, or to race across the bridge makes sense.

CG Half-Orc Warpriest 8 | Status: DF

Thrall can easily go with Taedric to the cavalry squad, if you think he'll mess up the stealth.

I'm pretty sure at some point things'll go south, so it'll be good to have the heavy hitters ready when it does.

So plan so far is to get close, most of us go invisible. I cast Fly on myself, summon an Aether Elemental and we start taking out chains. Once they're aware and try to act, hit had and fast, goal is to kill the Abyssal Aurochs first, focusing on any with chains still attached to the bridge.

Do we have any info on Abyssal Aurochs?

Knowledge:Planes DC15:
A larger version of a common Aurochs, distinguished from its common relatives by its carnivorous teeth, enlarged jaws, and the glint of intelligence in its eyes.
Originally taken by Baphomet to the Abyss, then adapted for his cultists use.
With their rudimentary intelligence, abyssal Aurochs are able to understand the guttural tongue of the Abyss, and to learn common words in the language of those they hunt. Many take advantage of hunters who assume they are dumb animals.
Man-eaters’ combination of animal instinct and demonic cunning allows them to more easily hunt their preferred prey: humanoids. Man-eating animals are known to track victims over long distances, their enhanced senses and great endurance allowing them to continue the chase long after their prey becomes fatigued. An innate sense of direction sometimes allows an abyssal Aurochs to anticipate (or overhear) its victim’s destination and reach it before the creature. Even latched gates and animal traps prove ineffective against the man-eater’s cunning.

Hey Camris? At the end of the Trample, is Grey considered to occupy the same space as the Aurochs? Am I correct in guessing the Aurochs is at least Large sized? Since the Reflex save is for half damage & I have Evasion, would I take no damage on a successful save?
Intrepid Halfling dangerjunkies need to know these things!

Grey: Yes, the Aurochs is trying to stand on top of you. It is Large I think. By the rules of Trample, you can either take the whole damage and make an AoO at -4 OR Ref save for half; so yes I think evasion would apply here if you tried to make the ref save.

Ok, folks. I'm going to be heading out of town for the next two weeks to a place where I have no wifi and the towers are spotty -- all that to say, my access to the interwebs will be sketchy at best from tomorrow (Saturday the 31) until the Monday the 16th.

I imagine I'll pop in a bit at night when possible, but, don't count on me over the period. Feel free to bot as necessary -- at this point, it's hoping that Knave can trip (he'll bite if something steps in) and fighting from the saddle -- unless the opportunity to charge pops up again. ;)
