"Just throw the potion in your pack in case someone needs it later." Orion says over his shoulder as he's walking with the group

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok follows the others towards the back of the convoy.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Since it seems there isn't much else that can be done to fix things, Kjolmar agrees to go find Belisarius with a "Let's head off, then," strapping the knife to his side and heading out. After changing armor to the mithral chain shirt. First person to ask for the other chain shirt gets it, otherwise I'll leave it at the gate.

Immediately after heading out the gate, the men begin arguing over whether to search the sewers or the streets for Belisarius. The man from the rear guard is convinced that Belisarius got himself into the sewers but is too wounded to get back to the compound, whereas the guards from the gate think that he was captured and the only way to find him would be to retrace his steps.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar puts in, "Well, I'd think the sewers'd be safer fer us; our group might be a bit noticeable fer the streets right after that little fiasco we pulled, eh?"

"Agreed." Orion says, unconsciously fluffing his wings slightly.

"We may be a bit more conspicuous, but I don't think any alive actually saw us. The others here were actually out in the streets causing our distraction. They may run more risk."

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok nods his head in agreement.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

"Aye, yer right in that I don't think a soul saw us, but them guards'll be on high alert. We needn't have their wary eyes turned on us."

If you want to go check the sewers, the nearest entrance is the one in the cellar of the compound, the way that you originally came from the arena. Also Moredrel, remember that you left two guards alive in the alley who would have seen you.

We did? Ok, I was up on the roof, must have missed that. The sewers it is then.

I missed that too. Otherwise I would have brained them before we left. Ah well. Perhaps I was too busy being in a rage induced haze

Sorry that I disappeared for a few days. What have you guys decided?

Sewer

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Indeed, sewers it is.

Female Elf Scout 1/Fighter (Targeteer) 2

Sewers indeed.

In the sewers you find yourself in the small branch tunnel which leads to the cellars of Urrax's villa. The tunnel is about 10 feet wide and round with a trickle of fetid water flowing down the center towards the main tunnel. This tunnel is lit with two torches but the main tunnel is dark. The survivor from the rear-guard accompanies you but the other two dragonborn have gone off on their own through the streets.

Perception DC 10:
Just at the edge of the torchlight in an alcove where this tunnel meets the main sewer there is a shape slumped over on the floor.

Perception DC 20:
It appears to be a body, but it is not moving, either unconscious or dead.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Krathok spies a body ahead of them, and passes that information to the collective - pointing it out directly.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Moredrel is lost in his thoughts and doesn't notice anything.

Krathok wrote:

Orion examines the body as they pass Unsure of what it means.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar will get closer to examine the body with Orion, keeping his hand on his newly acquired dagger's handle as he does so.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

The body is wearing one of Urrax's distinctive yellow cloaks, although it is significantly blood-stained. There is a short sword sticking out of its side, clearly the wound which killed whoever this was. A trail of blood snakes around the corner into the main tunnel, clearly this person died some distance from where he took the fatal blow.

Perception DC 15:
The body is still nearly warm as life. This person died within the last hour at the latest.

"This body is still warm." Orion says, then he follows the blood trail into the main tunnel.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar follows alongside Orion, his weapon now drawn and at the ready.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak materializes his mind bolt as he continues down the passage.

Perception down the Tunnel:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Continues following the others.

Following the trail of blood down the passageway, you come across a fork in the tunnel. To the right, there is a large bloom of blood in the sewer water and two bodies float face down.

Perception DC 15:
To the left, you can hear the faint sounds of a commotion coming down through a grating from street level. There are several voices shouting.

DM Caleth wrote:

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

DM:
WIth that roll can I make out anything specific about the sounds? words? do I recognize the voice?

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Quodak lifts his hand to stop the companions behind him.

Orion:
You can tell that the voices are speaking draconic, but cannot make out exactly what they are saying.

Orion Wispers "They speak draconic."

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Perception check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Kjolmar looks wide eyed to Orion, then quietly whispers, "Hmmm, prob'ly don't concern us, I think. Mayhaps we should try to be quieter from hear out, though." That said, he moves quietly to the bodies, seeing if he can identify them based on clothing.

Perception, if needed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Stealth, to move quietly: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Kjolmar:
The bodies are both of guards based on their uniforms. One of them was killed with a sword and the other seems to have been killed with magic.

Orion tries his best to stealth, though he's a bit large and awkward.
Stealth 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Edit: Very awkward

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

After examining the bodies for a bit, Kjolmar speaks quietly, "Hmmm, seems as though some o' the city guards 'ave met with steel and spell. I think Belisarius might be near." With that he motions for the rest to continue on through the sewers.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok still here and have no issues with continuing through sewer

Sorry I've been quiet. I've been sick and braindead all weekend.

Moredrel manages to slosh through the sewers fairly quietly.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

His poor familiar fox does a much better job, but is very obviously not happy about the sewers. It's not always good to have better senses.
Familiar's Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak continues moving on as well.

I didn't realize, but the forum ate my post.

The trail of blood ends where the bodies of the guards lie. There is only the dripping of sewer water and the shouting voices above as you stand at the intersection. You think that the right fork leads back towards where you killed the wyrmling.

Survival DC 18:
You can tell that two groups of two medium creatures each came along the right hand passage, likely the pair of late guards chasing two other people. There are the tracks of a single creature heading off to the left.

DM Rolls:

Orion:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Kjolmar walks off down the left passage stealthily, expecting the others to follow behind him. He follows the tracks in the dim lighting of the sewers, alert for anything ahead.

Since Kjolmar seems to have found something, Moredrel follows him.

Same

I've got a busy weekend, so I may not be able to post much. Just heads up.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok continues following.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak, too, follows the stout dwarf.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

I'm gonna be out for the rest of the day. I have an IRL game.

Kjolmar:
The trail seems to lead to the grating through which you can hear the commotion.

The sound coming from the grate above has changed now from shouting to the sound of shouting to the sounds of a fight, or at least someone being savagely beaten.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar points up to a grate, drawing his dagger and looking at the others expectantly. If they acknowledge and draw their weapons as well, he'll push up the sewer grate and jump out, looking for where the fighting is.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok stands ready with dagger in hand.
