Game Master Saint Caleth

"Maybe we can take out everyone who's seen us and get out before reinforcements come in?"

Moredrel steps up to F4, gives the half-dragon the evil eye and starts to cackle.
-2 Saves, Will DC 17

As Kjolmar staggers backwards down the stairs, Quodak takes his position atop the steps and launches a bolt at the Half-dragon which is blocked by the creature's heavily scaled arms. The Half-dragon moves forward, clearly affected by Moredrel's power. However it still stands, caring not about the flames rising around it and daring you to enter them and fight. It points the black lacquered wand and fires a beam of equally black energy which strikes Quodak. (-2 penalty to DEX).

The guard stunned by Belisarius remains in the flames and unluckily falls amid them.

Guards, to me! Orders the half-dragon. But no more guards come to his aid. Worthless dogs; arrest these slaves!

Upper Room:
You can see that the guards through the door are now kowtowing, although you still cannot see or hear who they are prostrating themselves too.

Orion, if you want to attack the half-dragon from a square which is not on fire you will have to move past it and eat an AoO. I'm not sure if you want to change your action

Map

DM Rolls:

Half-dragon Will:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Ray Touch:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Dex Penalty:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Mundane Fire Dmg:1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Revitalized by Krathok's powers, and ready to get some revenge against this half-dragon jerk, Kjolmar rushes back into the fray, saying to Orion, "Let's take 'im down!" (move to [F,-1], eating an AoO along the way if no one else has before me. AC 22 due to Mobility.) He has his weapon poised to strike.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Charge Psychic Strike, then release a bolt at the Half-dragon.

Attack, with Deadly Aim:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Damage
1d10 + 6 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1) = 8

Well, at least my psychic strike wasn't wasted, then. SK can choose to use their psychic strike if they hit. They don't have to expend it. In this case, I don't think I'm going to use it.

Next round raging full attack on the half dragon

Claw 1 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Claw 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 151d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Also I was wrong last round. It's 6 Temp HP. ;-)

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Orion, you are taking fire damage if you are melee attacking the half-dragon because of the mundane fires in front of it. Just wanted to make sure you're aware and accepting it.

I did not realize. Can I shift so i'm not standing in fire? Perhaps moving into the room a bit? If not I'll use my rage power (below) to try and bull rush him a space back then 5' step into the non-firey square.

Rage power Knockback (Ex) : Once per round, the barbarian can make a bull rush attempt against one target in place of a melee attack. If successful, the target takes damage equal to the barbarian's Strength modifier and is moved back as normal. The barbarian does not need to move with the target if successful. This does not provoke an attack of opportunity

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Yeah, you could move all the way around him to attack from the non-firey squares, but you'd provoke. You can't 5-foot adjust to reach the other side.

Kjolmar Greyhelm wrote:

That's fine. I'll move to not catch on fire and provoke an AOO if I can't avoid it.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Okay, so you are moving to [F,-1] on the map then? If so, I'll move to [G,-1] instead. That way we are both threatening, and both out of the flames. You would be taking the AoO, since you are moving first.

WOrks for me.

Moredrel hexes the half-dragon with Misfortune and Cackles to keep the Evil Eye up. Will Save DC 17

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok continues to move towards where the others are, spending the last of his psionic energy on a final heal.

Manifest Natural Healing for 3 more HP to Kjolmar

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Current hp is 11/21.

Sorry for the delay with this round.

As the half-dragon looks around for the guards he expects to back him up, Kjolmar and Orion run through the flames (3 Fire dmg each). The half-dragon swings at Orion as he passes, but strangely cannot seem to connect. Orion's retun blow likewise misses, as does Quodak's bolt which thuds into the railing of the stairs with a roar.

Belisarius moves up to cast a spell, but his maimed hand is unable to make the motions and the energy fizzles from his fingertips.

The half-dragon looks defiantly at Orion and Kjolmar standing before him and casts a spell. Orion and Kjolmar both get AoOs on the half-dragon. I will resolve the rest of the turn when you take them.

Map

DM Rolls:

Mundane Fire Dmg:1d6 ⇒ 3
AoO:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
AoO:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Spell Fail:1d100 ⇒ 95

AOO Claw 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 231d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

I may be out of touch for a bit. I'm having undiagnosed internet connection issues at home. Hopefully, I can get them sorted out, but otherwise I may not be online until Monday

If the fight continues without me, Moredrel will keep loading Evil Eyes on the half-dragon. AC, then attack. Cackle to keep everything in effect.
Assuming Orion and Kjolmar don't drop him with these AoOs, of course.

Orion catches the half-dragon with a claw to the gut, sending the creature staggering back a step.

Nice hit. If Kjolmar hits his AoO also he will definitely lose the spell.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

I'm trying to get in touch with Kjolmar, but he isn't responding. udually, he checks his PBPs before going to work, and after coming home. :/

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Sorry, been playing this new game all day. :P

AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The half-dragon ignores Kjolmar's attack bouncing off its hide as it turns to Orion, its spell lost. It bares its teeth at Orion. Traitor, you will pay for that!

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok continues to move up to where the others are, aiming to get close enough to start to take their pain.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar continues to stab at the half-dragon angrily, wincing through the pain of the burns.

Dagger attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

8/21 hp.

WIth wild eyes Orion full attacks the Half Dragon

Claw 1 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 261d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Claw 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 161d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Orion catches the half-dragon across the jaw with another mighty blow of his claws, tearing out the creature's throat.

You have dealt with all of the enemies present, but you should probably find some way to put out the fire before it spreads.

Can't we just flee back into the sewer and navagate from there?

You can go you want, I didn't expect you to just leave Urrax's storeroom on fire though.

As the half-dragon falls, wand rolling from his nerveless fingers, Belisarius shoulders Kjolmar and Orion out of the way to reach the half-dragon's body. He reaches into the flames, protecting his hands with his cloak and drags the smoking body out. stabbing it in the chest just to finish off the dying dragon man.

Belisarius strips off the half-dragon's cloak, revealing a golden badge just like the one taken from the half-dragon in the alleyway and hands them to Orion. You should wear this. You are most likely to be mistaken for an inquisitor if we run into any more guards. After a quick look at the body he strips its gloves and tosses them to Moredrel Have fun with these. before striding outside.

Orion takes the badge as directed and quickly says to Bel, "do we follow you out?"

Orion also briefly looks at the fire, but having no means to extinguish it looks back to Bel.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak rips the cloak from his shoulders, and tries to smother the flames.

Game Day, I'm gonna be out all day.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar similarly takes off his current cloak and tries to smother the flames with it.

The thick cloth of Quodak and Moredrel's cloaks seems effective in putting out the worst of the fire, leaving the stairs and floor only smoldering, although it essentially ruins the fabric of the cloak.

The few remaining guards outside seem to be removing themselves from the premises quickly and deferentially.

Orion peeks out after Bel to see what's happening. Look on his face obviouslyl says hesnot sure what to do.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar leaves the ruined cloak on the ground and goes outside, wondering who those outside were bowing to.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak leaves his cloak as well.

Female Elf Scout 1/Fighter (Targeteer) 2

Erie tosses her cloak into the fire.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Having no cloak to offer the flame, Krathok waits until it is suitably staunched before following the others outside.

The combination of cloaks is able to put out the fire, since fortunately it did not have very much time to spread.

Outside:
Outside the storehouse, the three remaining guards are leaving the compound under the watchful eye of Urrax in his natural form. As many of the residents of the compound stand around. The intimidation factor of a dragon seems to have kept them from asking questions about their comrades yet. Urrax looks down at Belisarius as he emerges with a look which seems to say I'll deal with you in a moment.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar looks up to Urrex, a combination of fear and awe displayed on his bearded face. He hopes that the dragon does not deem them all a hassle and simply eat them on the spot.

Orion stares in awe for a moment at the dragon in all it's glory,

Orion remembers an old proverb, "Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons, as you are cruncy and taste good with ketsup."

A moment later he thinks to himself forgetting for a moment that the collective can hear him, "We may be in over our heads."

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak mutters under his breath, "Holy..."

Moredrel takes the gloves Belisarius threw him, ignores his charred cloak and follows the others out the door, freezing on that last step when he sees Urrax above them. He stands there, in the doorway, staring at the dragon.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok figures that dragon easily eat him if dragon wanted to, so he tries to make nice. Grinning foolishly, Krathok waves Urrax a hello as he comes out into the light.

Urrax nods to Krathok's greeting and then returns to glaring the guards out of the compound. As the gate closes behind them Urrax turns to you and the assembled residents of the compound. I have done what I can to fix this mess, but we will have to be extra careful in the coming days nontheless. He points to the group of you with one monumental talon. Now can you go clean up the mess I heard you make in my storeroom. Be sure not to dump the bodies too close to the compound. Belisarius, I would have words with you.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar quickly nods to the dragon's orders, and goes into the storeroom to clean up. He'll work by picking up the bodies and moving them out of the compound, first finding shovels with which to bury them.

Kjolmar Greyhelm wrote:

After moment of looking confused, Orion joins Kjolmar.

"Maybe we should dump them elsewhere in the sewers? So we're not found hauling them through the streets near the compound.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar assents to Moredrel's idea, ditching the shovel and instead bringing the bodies one at a time into the sewers and hauling them a bit farther from the entrance until he comes upon a spot suitably far away, where he unceremoniously dumps them.

As you dump the bodies, each time you return to the cellar and storeroom, you can hear Urrax shouting, presumably at Belisarius. When you emerge back into the courtyard, neither is to be found. It is almost entirely dark out.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Not knowing what else is to be done, Kjolmar will help cleaning the rest of the storeroom (getting blood out of the floors, covering the burnt stairs with a rug) before heading to bed. He sincerily hopes that their actions haven't caused Urrex harm, as he is the only dragon so far who has looked at the common races as more than slaves. However, there isn't much that he can do to remedy the situation right now. He hopes Urrex has something in mind to make up for their blunder, as Kjolmar feels that he needs to do a sort of penance for their mistake.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok hungers... so he finds a sizable supper before curling up for sleep.
