As Kjolmar staggers backwards down the stairs, Quodak takes his position atop the steps and launches a bolt at the Half-dragon which is blocked by the creature's heavily scaled arms. The Half-dragon moves forward, clearly affected by Moredrel's power. However it still stands, caring not about the flames rising around it and daring you to enter them and fight. It points the black lacquered wand and fires a beam of equally black energy which strikes Quodak. (-2 penalty to DEX).
The guard stunned by Belisarius remains in the flames and unluckily falls amid them.
Guards, to me! Orders the half-dragon. But no more guards come to his aid. Worthless dogs; arrest these slaves!
Orion, if you want to attack the half-dragon from a square which is not on fire you will have to move past it and eat an AoO. I'm not sure if you want to change your action
Half-dragon Will:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Ray Touch:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Dex Penalty:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Mundane Fire Dmg:1d6 ⇒ 3
Kjolmar Greyhelm |
Revitalized by Krathok's powers, and ready to get some revenge against this half-dragon jerk, Kjolmar rushes back into the fray, saying to Orion, "Let's take 'im down!" (move to [F,-1], eating an AoO along the way if no one else has before me. AC 22 due to Mobility.) He has his weapon poised to strike.
Quodak Milner |
Charge Psychic Strike, then release a bolt at the Half-dragon.
Attack, with Deadly Aim:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Damage1d10 + 6 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1) = 8
Well, at least my psychic strike wasn't wasted, then. SK can choose to use their psychic strike if they hit. They don't have to expend it. In this case, I don't think I'm going to use it.
Tiny Coffee Golem |
Orion, you are taking fire damage if you are melee attacking the half-dragon because of the mundane fires in front of it. Just wanted to make sure you're aware and accepting it.
I did not realize. Can I shift so i'm not standing in fire? Perhaps moving into the room a bit? If not I'll use my rage power (below) to try and bull rush him a space back then 5' step into the non-firey square.
Rage power Knockback (Ex) : Once per round, the barbarian can make a bull rush attempt against one target in place of a melee attack. If successful, the target takes damage equal to the barbarian's Strength modifier and is moved back as normal. The barbarian does not need to move with the target if successful. This does not provoke an attack of opportunity
DM Caleth |
Sorry for the delay with this round.
As the half-dragon looks around for the guards he expects to back him up, Kjolmar and Orion run through the flames (3 Fire dmg each). The half-dragon swings at Orion as he passes, but strangely cannot seem to connect. Orion's retun blow likewise misses, as does Quodak's bolt which thuds into the railing of the stairs with a roar.
Belisarius moves up to cast a spell, but his maimed hand is unable to make the motions and the energy fizzles from his fingertips.
The half-dragon looks defiantly at Orion and Kjolmar standing before him and casts a spell. Orion and Kjolmar both get AoOs on the half-dragon. I will resolve the rest of the turn when you take them.
Mundane Fire Dmg:1d6 ⇒ 3
AoO:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
AoO:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Spell Fail:1d100 ⇒ 95
Moredrel |
I may be out of touch for a bit. I'm having undiagnosed internet connection issues at home. Hopefully, I can get them sorted out, but otherwise I may not be online until Monday
If the fight continues without me, Moredrel will keep loading Evil Eyes on the half-dragon. AC, then attack. Cackle to keep everything in effect.
Assuming Orion and Kjolmar don't drop him with these AoOs, of course.
Orion Snow |
Orion catches the half-dragon across the jaw with another mighty blow of his claws, tearing out the creature's throat.
You have dealt with all of the enemies present, but you should probably find some way to put out the fire before it spreads.
Can't we just flee back into the sewer and navagate from there?
DM Caleth |
You can go you want, I didn't expect you to just leave Urrax's storeroom on fire though.
As the half-dragon falls, wand rolling from his nerveless fingers, Belisarius shoulders Kjolmar and Orion out of the way to reach the half-dragon's body. He reaches into the flames, protecting his hands with his cloak and drags the smoking body out. stabbing it in the chest just to finish off the dying dragon man.
Belisarius strips off the half-dragon's cloak, revealing a golden badge just like the one taken from the half-dragon in the alleyway and hands them to Orion. You should wear this. You are most likely to be mistaken for an inquisitor if we run into any more guards. After a quick look at the body he strips its gloves and tosses them to Moredrel Have fun with these. before striding outside.
DM Caleth |
The thick cloth of Quodak and Moredrel's cloaks seems effective in putting out the worst of the fire, leaving the stairs and floor only smoldering, although it essentially ruins the fabric of the cloak.
The few remaining guards outside seem to be removing themselves from the premises quickly and deferentially.
DM Caleth |
The combination of cloaks is able to put out the fire, since fortunately it did not have very much time to spread.
Orion Snow |
Orion stares in awe for a moment at the dragon in all it's glory,
Orion remembers an old proverb, "Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons, as you are cruncy and taste good with ketsup."
A moment later he thinks to himself forgetting for a moment that the collective can hear him, "We may be in over our heads."
DM Caleth |
Urrax nods to Krathok's greeting and then returns to glaring the guards out of the compound. As the gate closes behind them Urrax turns to you and the assembled residents of the compound. I have done what I can to fix this mess, but we will have to be extra careful in the coming days nontheless. He points to the group of you with one monumental talon. Now can you go clean up the mess I heard you make in my storeroom. Be sure not to dump the bodies too close to the compound. Belisarius, I would have words with you.
Kjolmar Greyhelm |
Not knowing what else is to be done, Kjolmar will help cleaning the rest of the storeroom (getting blood out of the floors, covering the burnt stairs with a rug) before heading to bed. He sincerily hopes that their actions haven't caused Urrex harm, as he is the only dragon so far who has looked at the common races as more than slaves. However, there isn't much that he can do to remedy the situation right now. He hopes Urrex has something in mind to make up for their blunder, as Kjolmar feels that he needs to do a sort of penance for their mistake.
