Caith rushes forward slamming his spiked chest into the machine's own metal body with only some minor effect. It seems to harm the machine as much as it does his own armor, (just flavor), but he, or rather it, remains standing. Maldrek begins chanting, weaving together the strands of magic to unleash it in the form of a small explosion of radiant dust near the mage as Thoril moves closer.

The metal man takes a step back and lunges his spear at Caith, but it is deflected by some of the very same armor spikes it just bent.

It doesn't take you long to kill the metal man, or rather to destroy it. It collapses in a large pile of oddly shaped colored strings, metal wheels that seem to grind against each other, and other pieces you can only assume are inorganic organs. The mage, deprived of his ability to see, reaches for a potion vial hanging from his belt, but unable to discern one from another he grabs one and drinks it, hoping for the best. Whatever it was, nothing seems to happen.
Without his guard to protect him, and unable to pick proper targets or areas for his art, he falls quickly.

Malika Fenn’s report confirms Aya’s suspicions that the Aspis expedition is planning to investigate the same area that Venture- Captain Sharrowsmith was researching before his party’s disappearance. The intelligence also reveals that the consortium is sending a lot of manpower along with the expedition, including several veteran field agents with grim reputations. With this information in hand, and possibly knowledge that the Technic League is also monitoring these expeditions, Aya thanks you wholeheartedly as she steels herself for the daunting task of preparing the Society’s response to the impending conflict. With your success in sabotaging the expedition, Aya tells you "You have given us a precious few days to plan their response, a commendable advantage, and one that we shall use. You know you may have saved countless Pathfinder Agents and friend's lives here."
She is also very happy that you managed to make a deal with Novaria, Aya congratulates you further, explaining that having reliable transport of supplies and personnel through Bloodcove greatly strengthens the Society’s position in the upcoming conflict, and a capable ally in Bloodcove is to the Society’s long-term advantage.
