If you guys feel the need to replace me, I totally understand. My life has changed a lot since the game started, and I constantly feel guilty about not being anywhere close to as active as I should be.

@Seth, I know that Katria and I both said publicly that we would like to have you continue if you could resume regular posting, but I think we can all honestly admit that such does not appear to be the case.
Since you are here now, and it would be awkward to introduce a new combatant right at this moment, I would be most grateful if you could see this scene through and end on a high note.

I agree. I certainly don't mean anything personal (but I totally understand if it feels hard not to feel that way), but I want us to have four contributors. Unfortunately, real life can not allow that sometimes...

Totally understandable. Once we get to a convenient place, I'll happily bow out and let you find someone who can give this game the attention it deserves.
I'll get something up after, I've had a busy weekend involving a hospital and a procedure (not me thankfully).
Amelia doesn't care in character, Seth wants to kill this thing as a mockery to Pharasma, but what about the other two? Do I just go all out?
Liam trusts Katria's knowledge that such quasi-undead things only form from remorselessly evil souls.

Yeah, part of me thinks it's an opportunity to ask questions, but also really evil. So I think destroying it makes sense.
As a heads-up, I'm getting a tooth extracted Wednesday. I'll presumably be on some sort of pain killer for a few days afterward, so not sure how that will affect my posting. I'll post tomorrow (Tuesday), but I'd say feel free to bot me after that if I'm ever holding things up.

Any buying or selling that we want to do? It doesn't seem to me that we do.
We don't have a ton of stuff from this book. We didn't loot Taldaris's house, and although I assume we brought the Tome +2 with us, it would seem a bad idea to either sell it off or use it up, since it belongs to Taldaris. We did take the wands from his house, reasoning that we might need to use them to rescue him.
We also didn't loot his tomb.
I am not sure if the AP expects players to do that... anyway, I think we are fine as far as gear goes.
Agreed. I'd say let's maybe explore a little. Amelia can Gather Info and dig for any rumors, but I think mostly just getting to know the city before going to the lieutenant in the morning.

@Thanara - not meaning to be difficult, just trying to get to a place where my character can trust yours. I think you misunderstood Katria's concern: the problem with Galt is not that it broke away from Taldor (or, rather, it broke away from Cheliax which had earlier taken advantage of a Qadiran invasion to break away from Taldor). The problem with Galt is not that Taldor lost territory or power.
No, the problem with Galt is the perpetual bloody revolution. And that is why Liam is trying hard to find a middle path of a reformer Empress, rather than an all-out "kill the aristocrats" revolution (which he imagines would end with a much harsher aristocracy rising triumphantly over a mountain of commoner corpses). I've been trying hard from the beginning of this AP to conceive what a revolutionary with superhuman Wisdom would look like (lacking such Wisdom myself). I would imagine he would be patient and take the long view.
Basically, Liam would like to see Taldor progress from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy (de-facto democracy) within a few decades, with the aristocracy being rendered less relevant rather than eliminated. He would like to see Taldor accomplish in three decades what the UK accomplished in three centuries (from the Glorious Revolution to the House of Lords act). He does not see any prospect of making Common Rule happen more rapidly, given the power of the entrenched nobility in Taldor. Liam doesn't care about Taldor being powerful enough to dominate its neighbors, as long as it can defend itself. He would rather Taldor be good than be great, and win allies by being a good neighbor and a good example.
We've spent a lot of time in this campaign debating such change, actually governing a small realm, and dealing with radicals on both fringes. I find it quite interesting but can back off if it is a barrier to integrating your character.

She’s fully aware of the chaos in Galt, but would rather not think about such “uncomfortable things.” Heh
Yeah, I've been picking up that Thanara is pretty heavily CN.
Liam is kind of odd because Milani is the most Lawful of Chaotic deities. She was a saint of Aroden, retains a small realm in Axis, and is particularly close to Iomedae. I interpret her as favoring civil liberties and local governance accountable to the people.

Took Precise Shot and Echolocation. Seems like a good utility spell.

Does anybody mind if Liam wears the Band of Triumph? It should work with his Sermonic Performance. Sermonic Performance is "similar in all respects to bardic performance as used by a bard of the same level (including interactions with feats, spells, and prestige classes)".
And the +4 enhancement bonus to Cha would be useful (more Channels per day and higher DC, plus skill bonuses).

Dance of a Thousand Cuts is great. As to Haste, Liam did some retraining to be a somewhat-competent frontliner after we lost Seth, but he can get the Haste effect via either Divine Power or Blessing of Fervor.

Hoping I made the right choice to draw these things in, I don't know if anyone here has a better touch AC than me and as much Con as myself.
Liam has Heal prepared, which wipes out ability damage (but does nothing for drain). Fortunately this was damage.
He is also protected by Death Ward, but not all ability-damage attacks from undead count as energy drain. So his AC 22 vs incorporeal touch may have to suffice if he is attacked.
I gave you Disrupting Weapon on your sword and am planning to full-attack with my Ghost Touch dagger (Scion's Dagger) next round.
A Haste might be good from either Katria or Thanara.
I'm staggered until next round, so we just need to survive one final attack routine from them.

Would love to do more this encounter but I highly doubt I can get in safely. At 15 feet away, it will take 2 full rounds to 5 foot into it unless I want to run headlong and gamble on the full attack.
