It was built by the aquatic elves and merfolk. It has no connection to the Azlanti that you are aware of.

Alright, so the elemenetal can't attempt to cut it's way free because it can only make slam attacks and trying to break the grapple likely won't work out well for it either. What other options does it have? Can it just deal damage from inside? Try to break out with a strength check?


It can try a CMB check to escape the grapple or just punch it from the inside. It can still deal damage even though it won't be able to cut its way out.

You are effectively grappled, so you can only attack with a one-handed weapon. You can only cut yourself free with a light slashing or piercing weapon.

A Golembane Scarab for Victrix would be cheaper than getting an admantine weapon, but having a universal key is never a bad idea :)

I think I'll pick up a scroll of Disable Construct (if I don't already know that formula), I also found Eroding Ray, which is apparently on the Cleric spell list, so I'll have Valentin memorize that in a couple of slots once we get there.

@Victrix Do you have any opinion about prepping for golems?

Maybe I worry too much, but I've lost too many characters to golems to take it lightly.

If you think the Golembane Scarab is the way to go, I think we can buy that out of the party fund.

Drat! According to Hero Lab, Magic Vestment doesn't work the way I thought it did.

I thought it increased the armor's bonus by +2, but it only increases it TO +2.

So, Simon only gets a +1 increase and Victrix gets nothing.

That being the case, I don't even know why the spell exists. It is inferior to Mage Armor and a 3rd level spell.

The trick is for when you get high enough level that the boost exceeds your current enhancement bonus. Basically get your armor, or weapon for magic weapon, a +1 enhancement then stack up on +9 of abilities. You then add Magic vestment/armor to the item to boost the AC attack/dmg bonus and have all of the extra abilities.

@GM I don't believe Protection from Evil would block Charm Person. Is that correct?


It does not block charms but does give you the resistance bonus on saves.

OK, I think that we could probably do either one of the facilities this day, then will need to rest before taking on the other one.

Since resting will definitely make us better prepared to take on the nagas, we should probably go to the shrine first.

Rereading Spell Immunity. It specifically states that it doesn't protect against gaze attacks. :(

Enchantment Foil is the next best option, but that is only personal. Now, other than PvE, I actually can't think of any spells that will help us.

Open to suggestions.

A rogue with Vital Strike doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Give up a feat for an extra 4 damage on average, and it doesn't allow multi-attack?

I'd much rather go down the two-handed fighting tree to max out sneak attack possibilities.


These happen to be fighter/rogues. The author of this module really likes Vital Strike though as almost all the NPCs have it. :(

Yeah, I figured. Just an academic curiosity...

I was also curious how they get to +13 on their damage rolls based on only have a 2d6 sneak attack, but if they are fighters as well, that explains a lot.

I like Vital Strike too, it's great when faced with stiff DR or high ACs to make that first reliable hit hit harder. I just wish it wasn't so gimped and not able to be used as it is seems to me is intended. Namely with Spring Attack as it seems custom made to make that combat style more viable.

Here is what I am thinking:

1. Resist Energy (Fire) for myself and Victrix
2. I (probably potion invisibly) sneak down the hallway and back looking for traps
3. Victrix, you want Long Arm?
4. I hand off some extract bottles, then polymorph into Calikang form
5. Valentin uses my Invisibility extract
6. Wand PvE on Victrix and Ema
7. Victrix uses potion of Invisibility, I use Greater Invisibility extract
8. Valentin Blessing of Fervor
9. We RUN down the hallway and start attacking

I never actually got told if either knowledge check gave information about what elements spirit nagas are know to use if any.

The plan makes sense to me, though we could do one better and I could simply dim door us all down there.

Also, has the ankylo gone home yet or is it still around? It's around for eleven minutes and 1 of that was used up casting prying eyes.
