Dim door is awesome, if you can move us all!

I'll still do the invisibility and greater invisibility, but we can even skip the trap detection if that allows the dino to last into the battle. I can save a potion of Invis.


Note that the ankylosaurus is Huge and counts as nine creatures for the purposes of dimension door. Too big to take with you at this level.

Alright, I think I know what I am doing but I need some clarification. From where Valentin and I are how much movement would it take to get back down below to the base of the stairs/ladder? From there how far is it to where Victrix and Simon are and can I see them from the base, or even a bit further up, on the ladder/stairs?

My tentative plan is this. If I can get to where I can see them with 25 ft of movement, and if Victrix is no more than 110 ft away and I can get adjacent to her within that distance and not be in a position to provoke an AoO then I will reach her and try to dim door her back to Valentin.

Does this make sense as outlined and is it possible to pull off?

Good thing we didn't try to use Invisibility against this naga, with that Hand of Glory. Good item, someone should hold onto it, anyone want it?

The headband, I don't think is very useful for anyone. Does anyone get benefits out of high Charisma. Valentin could get a couple of additional channels, but that is hardly worth holding onto a high value item.

I do get benefits from it but my headband is already int and cha +2.

As beat up as we just got by one enemy I think we can use all the healing we can get honestly. If nothing else I could futrther enchant it later for someone.

A shortspear? Seems odd for something we want to battle a city crushing monstroosity.

The aberration bane will certainly be useful, and it is +3 naturally, so quite an impressive weapon.

Victrix, you have an aberration bane longsword already, I believe. I should probably have one of them to maximize our efficiency.

Lol, yeah, that would have been good to remember Victrix.

As an amusing annecdote one of the modules I've played for the living campaign Legends of the Shinning Jewel had a mod where, when you finished, you got a dagger that had bane for your race on it. The bad guys had come prepared to fight you, iirc, and did their home work for once having baned weapons to take you down with.

If you have better uses for your spells, I can swap out the polymorph spell. I don't anticipate using it for this excursion.

It's not a problem. I can swap out a prepared spell for another now using a reservoir pt. I'd only be replacing teleport which we may not even need until the following day.

The sword of subtelty is awesome, too bad we don't have a rogue. I annoyed a GM once and he gave my rogue a Buffoon's Sword (the cursed version).

Regardless, the mace of lesser smiting has to be a Victrix item. The sword we'll sell, I guess, unless Victrix wants to get the Leadership feat and start traveling with Gary...

Checked in to Restoration again and realized I only need 3 castings. So, that is good at least. We still have diamond dust for one casting from the beginning of the adventure, but I'll obviously need to go shopping once we get back to Talasantri.

You could potentially take Gary as a cohort.

Further investigation would reveal tiny symbols of the empyreal lord Ylimancha around. The full story:

Built years ago by a foul cult devoted to Dagon, this shrine came under attack by some worshipers of Ylimancha, who killed most of the inhabitants and tried to rid the place of evil, but they weren’t entirely successful.

After this attack, other cultists of Dagon found and used the shrine to offer sacrifices to the demon lord, which brought the attention of a couatl that was allied with the agents of Ylimancha and returned later to avenge them.

Achol observed the shrine for a time, learning the cultists’ strengths and weaknesses before launching its assault. During the battle the couatl was captured and tortured to the brink of death, but still managed to kill all of the cultists. As an obscene twist, the event drew the attention of Dagon, who corrupted the creature to serve as the shrine’s guardian.

I so enjoy the start of my morning. I started backing out of the garage to go get some milk and instead ripped the driver's side mirror off of my car on the garage! Such a stupid thing to do. If I'd have paid a bit more attention it would have never happened. *grumblemutter*
