yeah they are with you .. I forgot to put them on map

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

Mmmh... I've got the impression we are going to waste a good surprise turn...

Probable. Good RP for it, but probable.

I think I misread your intentions earlier .. I thought you were going to knock around a bit first. But I'm assuming the plan really is diplomacy first while being ready for combat? ... these are confusing times... I remember back when goblins were guilt-free kill on sights.

Hey, they still are guilt-free kills. Sometimes we just kill them by having them charge the other guys, watch them fight it out, then mop it up.

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

Well, Green advocated for giving them a chance... so we went with his plan... although my natural roll of 1 on that intimidate check could probably mean trouble...

Yea, trouble for the goblins!

I see now you don't speak sylvan.. oh well. Green heard him and Furiel might have DC 10.

oh. Wow I don't. I actually didn't know that either. Fail druid here.

I think we need to speed the game up, I know it's unpleasant but I suggest the GM considers taking control of a character if the player can't post in 24 hours.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Well Alice can cause sleep with nonlethal fists.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

I was hoping we see if they detect evil.

Sorry guys had my laptop die on me, had to get a new one. I am back though.

Male hp: 45/45; AC:17/14-ff16/14-tch10; F+7, R+4, W+5; Initiative 0, Perception +5

Do we consider combat ended and game reverted to free actions, or are we still on tactical movement?

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

Combat ended so it's free actions I think

yep free actions

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

I guess making sure these goblins never harm anyone again is out of the question?

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

I fear I offended Norton. It wasn't my intention as I found the interaction quite anjoyable. If I offended him I'm sorry and I apologize.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

I take my share of the responsibility for being an arrogant gnome.

I am sure I did too. I also apologize if I crossed the line.

Male hp: 45/45; AC:17/14-ff16/14-tch10; F+7, R+4, W+5; Initiative 0, Perception +5

No offense guys, just hectic days. I just manage to post one liners, so I won't be of much use now, go on with the interrogation.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Why don't we give them rations in exchange for the harvest.

{HP 32/32 | AC17 T12 FF13 CMD17 | F/R/W 5/3/8 | Init +2 Per +11/13 SM+4} Female Human Druid 3 {Kingdom} {NPCs} {Downtime}

Because that makes too much sense for us to have thought of:P

Though I do agree with that course of action.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

So we trade rations for the entire harvest and fruit and send the goblins on their way.
Then we finish the map of our first area and camp.
Then we visit another area or return to base. I would like to continue to map plains areas as they take only a single day, but do not feel strongly about it.
Anyone disagree?

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

I think we can safely continue with the exploration. And good RP people! Although all this respect for little monsters who would kill, torture or do worse is a tad amusing in Rogar's opinion

Male Human (Ulfen) Skald Lvl 1 HP 10/10 | AC:16 | T:14 | FF:13 | CMB: +5 | CMD:15 | Fort:+2| Ref:+4 | Will:+1| Init:+2 | Perc: +3 | Speed 30 | Raging song 6/6 |

I sort of agree with Rogars opinion, The Green Man is a little predjudice against treating anyone a certain way because of race, but that is mainly because he as expereinced it himself.
Hmm, better be carefull with that, lest he becomes something of an Half orc Drizzt Do' Urden.

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

Hey people what do we do about the loot? 6 gold each, the necklace to Furiel and what about the rest?

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Allowing Kressle to go, I don't think the risk is worth it.
We have bandits much more agreeable than her. Take any of them but her.

All we need is some alchohol and the password now to gain access. As Kessle currently feels, she will betray us.

Male hp: 45/45; AC:17/14-ff16/14-tch10; F+7, R+4, W+5; Initiative 0, Perception +5

Trust and loyalty can be earned, especially if you are the enemy of a hated foe. If we have a few days we can try to work that way.

As per the other bandits, we have the ranger, who has no reason to go, a dumb guy, and two too talkative gnomes, they are too unpredictable to rely on them.

The mithral shirt is useless on Norton so I won't compete on that.

The idea IS for Kressle to betray us. We can count on it. But if we do this right, if she believes one of us (the best one at bluffing of course) has freed her because he wants to throw his lot with the Stag Lord and offers to spy on his behalf... then even if she's opposed to us we've gained a way to check on what the Stag Lord gets to know about us and we can misdirect him. We turn one of us into a double agent, Kressle stays loyal to the Stag lord... what do we care? We just need to feed him enough false information to weaken him and maybe set an ambush on him when he's not well defended...

consolidated info to reference:

----Gnomes-----
The two gnomes look curiously at Green when he questions them ... "Well .. they aren't here now but Papa Grundy's boys Arliss and Budgie usually do the grunt work." the other gnome adds .. " Strange boys .. not cut from the same cloth as their brother Fenning. They stop at their dad's up the road there, and pick up the spirits on their way back from their run. Might be there now, in fact" the other gnome nods at this possibility.

Rillo answers Rogar .. "Haven't been there in months .. ever since Papa Grundy's boys became the ones to deliver the cut of the loot and their Dad's spirits and sot-weed to him."

..and Bunyon to Green "[Stag Lord]Used to be a mercenary captain out to the west, came out here with his henchies and just took charge .. Should you ever be in his presence, you will understand why no one questioned his authority. Maybe just two other groups like ours in the Narlmarches and Kamelands ... rumors say he has other influence .. secret-like.

"Yes sot-weed .. Papa Grundy makes his special blend of moon radish tobacco in addition to his still .. he is the Stag Lord's main source for smoke and drink."

-------Budgie-----
Budgie makes a weird "eep" noise as Green slams against him. "Savvy indead sir err indeed sir. Heh, you got me right alright. Yes a test of sorts. Had a mind not to be pulled in any deeper. Thought you might .. my father you see .. and your uh hum well yes true. Arliss and I do happen from time to time to be the one taking the wagon to the uhm "His" fort. We get the new pass phrase from my father .. well it is delivered to my father, but he doesn't know .. no one knows but me and well Fenning did."

"Thank you sir. I do appreciate it .. make a good team we do. My brains your brawn as they say. Here's what I have for you today, my friend .. sir. They say he's not what he used to be .. he's a drunk. He used to lead raids on small settlements and other bandits.. Then he decided to unite them. But since then he started spending most of his time out of his mind alone in his keep, sending his men out instead." sensing that isn't enough, Budgie gives it a bit of a think.

"There is one thing I heard .. never believed it but I have seen em once .. there's an old man there[at Stag Lord fort], and I heard once that he is the one calling the shots. "

"Oh .. and I have been warned to stay on the path. They don't like people sneakin up on em, and they've said they have certain assurances. Wish I could tell you what that meant, sir. Never felt much like testin em.""

Budgie responds to Green's idea.."Wha? .. heh I suppose could get you in .. I suppose, sir." he thinks for a moment "If you were to go to my father's .. there is a bird cage on an eight foot high pole. Inside you should find a small note. Part of the passphrase should be inside. When they ask for it .. start with 'By the' then say passphrase followed by 'who wants to know?'"

------Rook------
"Don't know how much you know or think you know .. Story on Kressle is she was just a young outlaw with a chip on her shoulder. Some of the fellas that ran with Hruska tried to take somethin she weren't offerin. Didn't end well for them and she left. Started her own enterprise, Papa Grundy and his late wife paid her and her boys for protection. Grundys were fine with it cos Mr Graenkin, Kressle's old leader took easily twice as much from the Grundys."

"That's about when I joined. Was on my own, fendin for myself when I came across Kressle and Grundy's boys. They saw value in me they did. The lot were lousy hunters, living on Ma'am Grundy's vegetables and whatever they could steal."

"Bout 4 or 5 months ago, we woke up to "Him", the Stag Lord, and a dozen men - including Hruska and Fenning Grundy - holding swords to our throats. Nasty press gang. He said 'You work for me now' and told us Hruska and Fenning were staying with us, last we knew they were still with Mr Graenkin."

"Believe Mr Graenkin is still leading the Bloodbands. Good to hear about the other two. Both monsters .. things got right awkward when Fenning came back. Budge seemed to think he had somethin to do with Ma'am Grundy's disappearance a while back, but hadn't the stones to face him. Kept on me and Happs to get rid of Fenning for em."

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Woohoo an explored area. Let's do some more.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Norton's idea of bringing along the bandits has worked great.

I still recommend using the reliable two bandits with us to get into the fort, not Kressle.

But, I am hoping we map some more clear terrain first. Our kingdom will need farmland.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Alice hasn't posted in a while.

Alice Morell (Female Changeling Monk (Master of Many Styles) 2) Sat, Feb 18, 2012, 01:51 PM

I think we are down to 5.

I love the enlarging to spur us on!

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

I think it's better if we decide these things ahead. That spell is good for melee, but it also majkes one a bigger target...

As for Alice, yeah, Furiel is probably right, she seems to have gone away.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

I did mention the use of enlarge earlier as we approached. Getting no response to my question of using it, Furiel as a gnome of action is hard-wired to act versus wait.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Nice maps - they get better every level.

Thanks. They're fun to make, and I like avoiding violating the CUP.

Do you want us to stay in initiative order, and are the mites in the fire light actively hostile?

yes we can keep same initiative. Mites have not started their attack yet.

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

The giant centipede is resisting gnome and druid magic, get him!

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

As much I want to burn the centipede, I think I may have missed it (I don't think it's touch AC is 7).
Furiel has rolled poorly with his produce flame.

touch AC 4 on huge whiptail centipede ... edit oooh I just re-read stat-block in adventure heh .. look at this here squeezing ...

Male Human (taldan) Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 03

well, hurray for big insectlike monsters living in cramped spaces...

Downtime Gnome Sorceror (draconic) 5

Well, I know where the next flame ball is going. Now I'm sad I used one on the centipeds upstairs.

It is times like this I am glad I never read this AP or been through it.

here is another one I like .. for the first bandit ambush. slow pitch encounter

Male hp: 45/45; AC:17/14-ff16/14-tch10; F+7, R+4, W+5; Initiative 0, Perception +5

I was reading about the Bard's Countersong: I can't understand this part

If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard's Perform skill check result for the save.

It says that each round can roll another save, but has to use the perform check result. If the creature uses the perform check what is the need for "each round": isn't the perform check result going to be always the old one?

you roll a perform check every round when using countersong.

OK light thing is messed up. Just realized ..
Each caster can only have one light spell active.
We have three casters that have light.
Therefore if all y'all don't mind .. the light on Rogar's blade was from Green.
